| Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:42 PM PDT I recently recommended my friend a Xiaomi Redmi 9s that's GSM unlocked as a new phone and it was working fine until recently. He uses Walmarts family mobile plan which supports unlocked gsm phones. He isn't able to receive data, make calls, or send texts. All of the threads I found online said it was either the recipient blocking them or their phone bill being unpaid. I had him text me and it didn't go through so it's not that he's been blocked by anyone. And his bills are paid so it isn't that. What kind of issue are we having? What can fix it? I've tried quite a few things, I've even tried setting up a new apn (although I may have done something wrong). Thanks for any help, it's very appreciated [link] [comments]  |

I found it recently and I was curious about it, when I turned it On it was a blast from the past, seeing all that old music and the Android 4 Interface, I checked for updates (but who am I kidding right?) and there was nothing, after a few minutes I remembered Why I kinda hated it, It's Hyper slow, I restore it to the factory setting and was good for a few minutes but after that it came back to slow as hell. Both phones are Samsung Galaxy S8s, and my carrier is US Cellular. I've tried to open voicemail on my current phone to see if I'm able to access it, but it doesn't work. Or one will pop up while I'm using the phone. I don't download a lot of different apps, but I did download a couple recently, which I have now deleted, in case it was them. But the problem persists. | I can't freaking install TWRP on my 1st gen pixel! Posted: 28 Jul 2020 06:00 PM PDT I've tried every way on the tutorial on XDA and nothing. My pixel is running Android 10 I've already managed to root it and unlock the bootloader. But I can't install TWRP. I installed Magisk fine and the TWRP manager fine. But I cannot manage to install TWRP recovery. This is pissing me off! Help! Edit: the TWRP website shows 4 different download links and every tutorial I've looked at says be sure to download the right one but they don't tell me which one I should be downloading. | Posted: 28 Jul 2020 02:13 PM PDT So today I was messing around with developer options on my huawei p20 pro and I came across some options that makes for example the homescreen button and the back button really small. And I cant revert these changes because when I got to the options theres a white screen with very few options. Please help me. So I dont know the options name specifically but I do know that you could change the number 340 (which is the default)to 1 which my dumb self did and now everything is too small,and I can barely see the text on the screen too it too is small. We all know snapchat doesn't go well with Android etc. But I've just noticed when using the 'front flash' that my phone screen doesn't really flash. It just shows a white screen with the brightness of my device. On iPhone the screen really flashes, if you know what i mean. Even on my friend his Samsung J5 2018 the screen flashes to max brightness. Is there a way to like bypass it and make normal pictures, or do I have to wait till snapchat fixes this. Ps. | Samsung S10 Keeps Erasing SD Cards Posted: 28 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT I have a dash cam I use for my work truck. It records on a Class 10 32GB SD card. I reviewed the footage on the camera after an accident and when I inserted it into my phone to send the footage over it said 0mbs and slowly starting copying over some android files...... I check the SD card after I pulled it out, in my dash cam and all the footage was gone. Nothing on it but Android files..... Any reason for this? I tried testing it and recorded footage and inserted it again into my phone..... blank again. Never had this happen with my PC reading it. Thanks for any insight. [link] [comments]  |

| Can I use my ex's Un touched phone that was probably reported stolen? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:14 PM PDT While we were still together my ex ordered a $900 android from verizon. It never came. She got into multiple yelling matches with verizon personnel who insisted it got delivered, while she insisted it didn't. They accused her of stealing it and she angrily defended herself. Finally after week-long ordeal, verizon sent her a new phone. It arrived just fine, and she went on with life. Maybe 2 months later she called me into our room. She shut the door, turned off both our phones and asked in a whisper if I had ever seen that package before. I looked to where she was pointing. There was a small cardboard box under the desk. I didn't remember seeing it before, but it blended in to our room pretty inconspicuously so it was hard to tell. The package course contained the original phone. Maybe one of our housemates put it there? We both ignored it for months. She was pretty embarrassed I think. 7 months ago we broke up. She left the phone unopened in the package and moved to another state, so I guess it's my responsibility now. I totally want the phone! It's much nicer than my $150 galaxy. I'm just not sure if I can activate/ use it without some sort of theft alert going out to verizon. I don't want to get her or me in trouble. Any insight to this would be incredibly helpful. Also I currently have metro PCS so I'd have to switch to verizon p.s. my Dad thinks I'm a moral degenerate for posing this question. I see where he's coming from, but Verizon is a wealthy corporate giant. Pretty sure they can swallow this loss. | How much space should android be taking? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:07 PM PDT I have a samsung J3 V with 16 GB of storage, I opened the device care and went to storage and found I was using 14.7 gb of space. This does not seem like it makes sense though because after looking at the space taken up by my app, photos, files, etc. I should not be using more than 5 GB. Is it normal for android 9 (one UI) to take up the another 9gb or so? If not, what can I do to clear up some space? Thanks for reading! [link] [comments]  |

Does anyone know why this is? Do I need to do something special with my current version of ADB, or do I need to find an older one? If so, where can I find it? | Posted: 28 Jul 2020 06:20 PM PDT I had a great one that's no longer working. The only thing it did was reject any caller who was not a contact with out bothering me. I have been downloading app after app now trying to find one that does the same thing but they are all failing to do what the first one did by checking incoming calls against my contacts and rejecting callers who are not contacts. All the new apps need to me maintain lists or replace the default dialer app, just all this unnecessary crap I don't want to spend time on. I understand some flavors of Android will do this for you but for whatever reason LG phones do not get spam calls so they choose not to include it. [link] [comments]  |

| Samsung Galaxy active 2 watch keeps overriding android auto Bluetooth Posted: 28 Jul 2020 01:49 PM PDT So as the title says..... I have a OnePlus 7 pro paired to a Samsung Galaxy active 2 watch. I love both devices BUT many times when I'm driving and using my Android auto head unit and I make or receive calls it usually has 3 options phone, speaker phone, and Bluetooth. If I let it use Bluetooth, it will usually go to my watch and not my Bluetooth audio for Android auto I just want to be clear, it's a pioneer 4200nex head unit, not the Android auto app I am rooted and have made a profile that is if connected to my head unit Bluetooth then it should disconnect from the watch and kill the watch app (tried with and without the killing the app part) all to no avail I'm so confused, other than literally turning off Bluetooth on my watch to drive, (which kills battery because then it goes to 4g) is there anything I can do to make the head unit Bluetooth default for calls when connected? I know it happens when you install a new browser, but I didn't. Actually, I haven't installed any new apps for weeks. I search the web and there seems to exist a browser by that name, but it's not on the Play store, and the icon I'll shown is not the one I see on the Net. One last weird thing: there's no sign of that browser or anything with that icon in my app list. So... Should I be concerned? [link] [comments]  |
