    How to remove unwanted apps on your Android device using ADB (safe and foolproof method).

    Nowadays, phones come pre-installed with a lot of useless apps. We don't use these apps but we can't install them either. You could disable it but some apps can't be disabled and take up space and RAM on your phone. However, there is an easy way to take care of this problem which is 100% safe. It is by using ADB (Android Debug Bridge).

    To do this you will need : a USB cable, your phone, a PC

    First install App Inspector or a similar app on your phone. Then head over to developer options (by going to Settings> About Phone> Software Information and tapping on Build Number 7 times. Now enable USB debugging. This will allow ADB to make changes to your device (deleting apps).

    Connect your phone to your PC via the USB cable and unlock it. Then on your PC, download ADB drivers through this guide from XDA developers. Download to a easily accessible folder.

    Head over to the downloaded file and press Shift + Right Click within the folder and select 'open command window here' or PowerShell. Now type in 'adb devices' to search for devices. You should get an alert on your phone to allow debugging. Allow the permission.

    Next type in 'adb shell' to make changes to your phone.

    Go to your phone and open App Inspector and find the app you want to uninstall. You'll have to specifically search for the package name.

    In the command window on your PC, type in 'pm uninstall -k --user 0 <package name>' without quotes and replace 'package name' with the package name without '<' and '>'.

    That's it! The app should no longer exist on your phone and you have successfully freed up space and saved RAM. However, you should beware of deleting vital system apps and soft bricking your phone.

    Edit: this was told to me by a friend, though, as a user suggested, there is a guide by XDA developers that states how to re enable what you deleted if it was mistake. For those wondering it's 'adb shell pm enable <package name>' without quotes and '<>'. Credit goes to XDA though.

    If you are upset that YouTube keeps closing your videos as you switch to another app because music isn't allowed for picture-in-picture mode, you can use android's open in pop-up view mode to view the video without YouTube closing it.

    To get to pop-up view, hold the app icon in your currently running apps view, and select pop-up view mode.

    So over the past week I've been having issues with chrome. On some web sites it's been freezing and won't work until I leave chrome and come back. Then it will work for a little bit. So I found a fix. You can simply install chrome beta from the app store and it's basically the same and works fine. Or you can install the the app called repair, go into the app. Tap the drop down Bar on the left hand side. Go to system apps at the top. Scroll down until you find chrome. Then hit uninstall. Because chrome is a system app it can't remove it (unless you have root access) so it will just take the updates off and will be good as new. Enjoy. Remember to go to the play store and turn off auto update untill the big is fixed.

    Upgrade P20 Pro to S20+

    I thought I would do a post on this as it is something I had searched before upgrading and didn't get a lot of info. I have been using the S20+ for over a week now.

    Overall I am happy with my upgrade but there are definitely plenty of reasons why I shouldn't have bothered.

    The S20 display is great and I love the almost full screen display. However, with the full screen display comes the in screen finger print scanner. It is horrible. The physical scanner on the p20 Pro was much much better, although unsightly. Face unlock isn't that great either. Can be really annoying.

    120hz is nice, but not worth the price hike to upgrade in my opinion.

    Battery was a big concern for me but it's been OK. I'm not glued to my phone all day. For me it's an all day phone. I wake at around 7am and put it on charge for around 12.30am and it usually has around 30% left. I watch a little of Netflix and browse social media mostly. SoT probably about 5 hours but I don't know because I haven't went from 100-0 yet.

    Camera is a definite upgrade. Very happy in this regard.

    I also work in a 5g area and this is just great 👍.

    How to block Ads in Samsung health [Root]

    Using International Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (N950F)

    What I did:

    • Root + Xposed framework to run Xprivacy.
    • Used xprivacy to control internet access allowing till I got the app to start after install or it's data wiped.

    Immediately turned off wifi, block internet access in xprivacy. Or blocked access to addresses in video black listing one by one using xprivacy.

    Alternative idea (I didn't try) that might work to temporarily block the ads

    Use a firewall app that allows blacklisting addresses and enter the addresses in the video one by one.

    Please note that some of those addresses affect sync and other features of the app, you can experiment with which one does what and not black list it.
