wifi hotspot turns off instantly - mi note 10 lite

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 08:08 PM PDT

I have a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, I often turn the wifi hotspot on so other people can share my mobile data... but since several days ago the wifi hotspot feature no longer works - I press the button to toggle it in and it instantly turns itself back off again.

I have disabled the "Turn off automatically" when no one is connected feature.

Bluetooth tethering still works, but I would like to get the wifi tethering working again as some devices I want to share with don't have Bluetooth.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this, or how to fix this?

I have tried rebooting several times with no luck. Last resort will be a factory reset but I am really hoping to avoid that.

    Thanks

Is an instantly unlocked bootloader normal when using the Mi unlock tool?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:48 PM PDT

I've had a Google Pixel since 2016 when it was brand new, and until now it has been a great phone. I had the battery replaced once but it got to the point where it was barely usable, and the Pixel 4A has not been announced yet. However, I found a cheap Redmi Note 6 Pro for sale on local classifieds and picked it up for the time being.

I was used to the stock ROM of my Pixel, so I wanted to flash off MIUI before I started using it. I had read about the usual 360 day wait - so I made an account and started the guide. However, the unlock tool made some (fake-looking) "progress", and gave a generic-sounding fastboot error. The phone rebooted, said "unlocked" on the splash screen, and proceeded to wipe itself as you would expect. After that, I was able to flash TWRP and eventually my Havoc OS ROM, all within the same night that I bought the phone.

It's been five days and the phone's been stable (and awesome - I can't believe that this is only two years newer than my old Pixel!), so I think I got away with this somehow. Has Xiaomi stopped enforcing multiple day waits on older devices, or did something go wrong and I got lucky? Either way I'm happy!

Just replaced the battery on my Redmi Note 4, it came at 55%, and I used it until it got down to 1%, but it did not die for over 2 hours. Just sitting at 1%. It just died, and I set it to charge for like 20 mins and is charging incredibly slowly - 0 to 12% in 2 hours. What should I do with it?

Xiaomi Mi 9T speaker phone died.

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 11:02 PM PDT

I was playing space flight simulator on max volume and after sometime I noticed there is no audio coming out form the speaker.

Headphone jack and Bluetooth audio works fine. I've rebooted but it didn't fix it.

    Moving from Motorola

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 04:55 PM PDT

I´ve been a Motorola user since I started using Android some years ago, I´ve been pretty happy with the brand but recently the options are lacking in my country. I hope the Fusion makes it here soon, but I am considering the 10 Lite as an alternative if it doesn't, however one thing that has me on hold from changing is that I am too used to having moto actions available, the chop-chop for flashlight specifically is just a common movement for me now.

Is there any easy access to the flashlight on Xiaomi phones besides the QS menu?

Any alternatives to 10 Lite I should consider?

Grateful to have upgraded my phone

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 10:34 PM PDT

Came from an LG g6 which never even received an android pie update, to a mi 9t 2 weeks ago, which I got with miui 10 which I never got to experience, because MIUI 11 was already available, and currently waiting for miui 12. Software support has been already miles better than LGs

What kind of adblocker would you recommend for me to get? I'm particularly annoyed with the new unskippable ads on the youtube app

    Redmi 10x pro vibration motor

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:04 PM PDT

I used to have a mi 9t pro (redmi k20 pro). While the phone was great, the vibration motor was trash and barely noticable. Probably the worst one I ever had. So I want to know if its the same with the redmi 10x pro. Anyone have the phone that can tell me their experience of the vibration motor?

Two very big issues (Note 8T)

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 04:07 PM PDT

Hello, I have two very big issues with my phone, first when the phone isn't on airplane mode it's literally useless, I have severe random input lag (we're talking seconds before the phone responds even to a scroll), followed by a severe performance drop. As soon as I turn on airplane mode the phone instantly snaps into behaving like it should be. Secondly, when Bluetooth is turned on and I'm connected to my Bluetooth headset the internet speed plunges into the territory of <1Mbps. Same thing, as soon as I deactivate the Bluetooth the internet speed goes back to normal. My WiFi is used only by me so it's not a broadband problem. Does anyone know how to fix these issues? Months have passed since I got these issues and updates didn't fix any of these problems

New simcard not recognised by Redmi Note 4

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 06:55 PM PDT

I ported from one sim card company to another and when I installed a new sim into Redmi Note 4, Mi Message isn't letting my sim to get activated and sending me a notification that sim cannot be activated. I tried rebooting the mobile and sign-in into to my mi account for resolution but didn't find much help. I aslo posted on Mi community where I didn't get help. I have attached the link of the picture I posted on Facebook for the issue resolution. But I didn't find much help but I hope someone can help here.

    Thanks in advance.

I've been having problems with my phone, and I'm thinking about buying a new one. I dont have a lot of money so 250 is my max

To be honest with you, I've never considers Xiaomi to be a good company. But few of my friends recommended it to me, so here I am asking for your knowledge.

Can anyone recommend me something for my needs?

Xiaomi MI A2 Lite screen refresh after updating to Android 10

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:03 AM PDT

    Hello,

I recently upgraded to Android 10 in my Xiaomi MI A2 Lite and started noticing that everytime I switch from an app to another the screen does a refresh which causes apps to fully reload. This is particularly annoying in browsers where the page reloads again and even causing some browsers not to behave as they should (not being able to reload the page or even loosing the browser history if the browser has an option to clear tabs on exit).

Is anyone experiencing the same? Is there any solution?

    Thanks

    Does unlocking bootloader breaks safetynet?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 08:02 AM PDT

Am using Redmi Note 9 pro, and after unlocking the bootloader, google play says that my device is not certified. And safetynet failed on cts profile match. How do i fix this issue? am not rooted btw

Edit: So, after hours of troubleshooting, unlocking the bootloader indeed trips safetynet, even without installing root or TWRP (In my case, my device is Redmi Note 9 Pro - joyeuse).

Mi Robot STYJ02YM won’t clean a detected area

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:59 AM PDT

Hello everyone. I just got the robot and started it for the first time. It seemed that it went around at the edges of my apartment, creating a map. After that, it started cleaning room by room but from the screenshot you can see that at the bottom although the robot successfully mapped my bed and the walking space on the two sides of it, it decided not to clean it. This is a bit confusing to me since it did detect correctly that it can freely go there and clean up. How do I tell the robot it is okay to clean there?

    Overheating on xiaomi.eu

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:53 PM PDT

First of all, hi to all of you. Today I installed MIUI 12 by xiaomi.eu and it's running fine, except for one issue. The phone really heats up out of nowhere, when using random apps that shouldn't by any means cause the phone to heat up that much, such as Facebook or Reddit. Has anybody had this issue with xiaomi.eu or even global ROM? There is definitely something not ok, because it goes up to like 55-60°C and stays like that when using the phone. I suspect the heavy animations, because just as I'm writing this, the temperature is basically normal, but even the animations shouldn't be THAT hard to handle for the device. Any tips appreciated!

Edit: My device is Mi 9T Pro.

    Chromecast logo on screensaver

    Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:49 PM PDT

Hi guys, I have a question.

My SmartTV 4S goes to screensaver mode when it's not being used like it should, but there is this chromecast logo on the bottom left, which is in fact really big and I don't like it. Is there any way to disable this logo so I can have a beautiful screensaver with only the time?
