How to convert encoded audio files from video game data to playable audio files? Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:22 AM PDT So I was trying to extract a video game's cache files and I could finally do it. But the problem is all the files inside the archive are encoded in a way that they can't be rendered by regular programs. For example audio files have the extension ".wav.1" but simply renaming them to original ".wav" doesn't help. Also every audio file has two locations in separate cache files. One of these cache files is called "H.misc" which contains the audio "header" and the other one is "F.misc" which contains the larger audio file. Do I need to merge the header with original file somehow? I have no idea yet. I just want to decode or convert these audio files. Any solution? [link] [comments]
Do all laptops have 1ms response time displays? Or what is the fastest response time? Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:44 AM PDT I have an Acer Nitro 5 with an i5 8300H and a 1050ti. I've had multiple laptops in my life, and I always felt like my laptop display was more responsive than most monitors I've used. Just curious for discussion. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Windows 10 taking circa 12 - 15 minutes to boot Posted: 30 Jun 2020 01:05 PM PDT So my win 10 is taking somewhere between 12 to 15 minutes to boot from power off. Hasnt done it before and had boot up times of sub minute before. A friend said it might be malware. I ran Bitdefender full system scan, and Windows defender full system scan. They both find nothing after around 10 hours of scanning each. Help please Also, for anyone querying the antivirus scan time, I've got a lot of stuff on my computer, several TB of photos as am photographer, but on separate drives and none are suffocated, especially the OS drive [link] [comments]

Can I install a program on DVD onto a laptop without an optical drive? Is there a workaround? Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:08 AM PDT Hi, I'm buying a new laptop and it appears that optical drives are not included in the models I'm interested in. That's fine ... except I have Microsoft Office on DVD. Is there a workaround I can use to still install this, despite not having an optical drive? (My older laptop has an optical drive ... maybe I can do something using this?) I'd rather not buy an external optical drive for the new laptop because I don't think I'd make much use of it, beyond installing Microsoft Office. The laptop is dual boot (Windows/Linux Mint). Obviously a bit confused, so any advice appreciated. [link] [comments]

Jlab JBuds Go Air Right Earbud does not work. Posted: 30 Jun 2020 03:15 AM PDT So about a week ago, I got the Jlab JBuds Go Air Ear buds. They worked great until yesterday when the right earbud stopped working. It is dead and cannot be charged. The left earbud works completelt fine. So if anyone can give me suggestions on how to solve this issue, it will be gladly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Desktop PC turns on when turning Laptop on Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:06 PM PDT Evening all, I've actually 'fixed' the problem by unchecking 'allow device to wake the pc' on both network cards on the desktop. I've had this issue intermittently over the last couple of years, on 3 separate desktops. The issue is that the computer would (seemingly randomly) turn itself on, whilst previously shut down. Tonight, I narrowed it down to happening when I power my laptop on, the desktop comes on about 10 seconds later. I've never configured anything of the sort and Googling has so far returned nothing. Curious to know if anyone has any suggestions as to why this may happen? Desktop is a Maximus XI Extreme, 9900KF, 2080ti. Both NICs are connected directly to my router via 1Gbps ethernet. The laptop is a Dell XPS 13" 9300 - connected to the same network via WiFi. Currently, the only applications in common are: Steam Various Adobe Apps, Office 365 iTunes Spotify. BUT the issue occurs before logging into Windows Any thoughts would be appreicated, [link] [comments]
