| Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:02 PM PDT Hello reddit! This going to be a long one so please bear with me. I've ran out of storage on my 16gb phone and decided to buy a 64gb sd card. I closed my phone, mounted it, reopened my phone and saw two options. Format as internal storage and use as external storage. Since I wanted more space for my apps I went for format. It asked me to move 4gb of data to SD Card, I chose move now and 6 minutes later got a text saying it is ready. Then I went to Storage-Settings and saw that my Internal storage is still full, but there is also 8gb data in the SD Card. It said moving 4gb, but phone didn't move anything, it just created more data. Then I decided to move some media from internal storage to sdcard, so I launched my file manager but lo and behold, I only see internal storage and it says 56gb free out of 80. When I try to move folders from inside of it there is no move to SD option because it is all merged as one. Yet when I go to Storage I see that internal storage is full. To test and see if I can download any apps I went into play store and tried to download a heavy game. That's when I got the "make more space" error. So what was the point of buying this sd card if I can't install apps or move my photos/videos into it. Worst part is even if I format it as external storage, there are 4gb of app data, 3gb of media (which I don't know where they came from) in the sd card and I don't know which apps they are or how to move them back to a full internal storage without losing everything during format. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Android 9 if it helps. Edit : When I go to storage and click on sd card I see only 3 options: rename, eject, format as portable. There is no move media or other option. Edit 2 : I looked into SD card and saw that even though the system shows it as 8gb full, it had nothing inside, so I formatted the sd card as external, and I didn't lose anything. | OnePlus 5T crashed/Process system Isn't responding Posted: 26 Jun 2020 07:04 PM PDT Hi, my One Plus 5T has crashed - I went to unlock it, and it wouldn't unlock, kept getting a process system isn't responding error, keyboard wasn't appearing, etc. I restarted the phone which didn't help. I have then restarted into recovery>wipe cache>reboot, but now my phone is frozen with only the oneplus logo showing. Edit more info: Now if I reboot by pressing power and volume up I get a screen which says: fastboot mode Product_name Variant Bootloader Version Baseband version Serial Number Secure boot Device State- Locked From here I can restart bootloader, restart to recovery, power off or start - of I choose start I'm taken to the oneplus logo and nothing happens. I have never rooted my phone, & have everything set to update automatically, and I'm unsure where to go from here. Thank you so much for any help. [link] [comments]  |

| What is this? (Android messages app) Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:55 PM PDT Is it something that I somehow accidentally sent? Was it sent to me? With all the other messages/pictures in the chat history, I can long-press to get the details or save the image. With this, I can't long-press it to get message details or copy an image or anything. EDIT: Ok so I figured it out. I wish I knew what keywords to write in this post so that people with the same issue might be able to find this. It turns out that they were suggestions from google's keyboard. I double tapped one of them and it sent it. I was originally confused because it's on my side of the conversation and it looked like it was a message I accidentally sent. | Receiving texts on old phone with no SIM Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:18 PM PDT I recently upgraded from a Motorola g6 play to a galaxy s9. I set up the new phone and transferred everything over (SIM card included) and it works great, all texts and calls go to the new phone except for one contact. Old device uses Google messages with RCS features enabled, new device uses stock Samsung messenger. Incoming texts come to the old device for some reason, I also can send an outgoing text to that contact from my new device and they will receive it. Any idea on how to rectify this? This doesn't happen in any other app, I use YouTube Vanced, Twitter and TikTok where videos work normally, I'm not sure how to search for this issue since it's very specific so I hope someone can help me. | Real-time Text (RTT) is making my phone unusable. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:27 PM PDT Seems like I'm in a war with technology the past couple of weeks. I started having problems with my phone call quality on my Nokia 3.1 plus phone. Some unknown app was opening up on it's own whenever I was in a call, making it impossible to hear my caller, or vice versa. Sometimes if I'd swipe the app closed, and then turn on/off my speaker phone, the call quality would improve, but not for long, as the app would open again and then after much "Can you hear me? I can hear you, can you hear me?" "I can't hear you, I'll call you back" we'd have to hang up. Absolutely ridiculous, and especially bad when I had to sit in a call queue for 20 minutes before I could get connected in the first place. Then it does it again when I call back. Ugh. Finally took a good look at this "new" app when it popped up: Real-Time Text RTT. It's not something I want (or need) on my phone from what I can understand about it. Why has it all of a sudden started opening during calls... is this something that's being released progressively to all Android phones and I just got lucky this month? Strangely, on many google/android help sites I've found where others posted similar issues with RTT, when someone asks "how can I remove it?" the tech has the same answer: "go to accessibility, open Real-Time Text, and turn the switch to off!" And then they lock the thread! A couple of people have gotten in a "How do I do that" answer to this because there is NO OFF SWITCH, but this question has been effectively killed for further discussion everywhere I've tried to find an answer. Here's just one example where they've done this. I did read somewhere that you cannot disable or remove the app. If someone else is actively using it on their phone, your phone's app will be activated as well; you have no control over it. If this is true, I might as well toss my phone. I've checked under accessibility: I can click on "Real-Time Text (RTT) call option" but the only choice is to make it "visible during calls" or "always visible." There are no other options whatsoever. Sorry for the long rant, but PLEASE, can someone help me get this disaster off my phone? Hopefully it's a simple fix, but if I have to root my phone (have never done this before) then that's what I'll have to do to stop this unwanted RTT app from destroying my calls. But it showed me how much storage apps, videos etc took up and it all came to about 5gb total. I deleted 160 pics and 7 videos and it only cleared 0.3gb of storage. | How to change snapchat font IN DMS ??? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:01 PM PDT I'm using a galaxy j7 and the font on that thing is really gross to me. It's basically like anti aliasing off + skinny text, which is complete opposite of my regular android font being small, bold, and one of the text options that is more cartoony. Every time I ask on google it just brings up snapchat's font when I take a picture, which I DO NOT ASK ABOUT. Now, since yesterday evening, I've been having a weird ass issue: When I plug in my charging cable, my phone recognizes that it's connected: red light will turn on & in battery settings there's a line of text that normally says 'x hours left'. As soon as I plug it in this text changes to 'x% - battery not charging'. It's driving me crazy. My phone is at 3% battery life right now, and I can't get it to charge. It seems to recognize perfectly fine that it's connected to a charging cable, but it simply doesn't want to charge or something. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this type of issue? The problem is my wifi is working only if i take the SIM tray out. So this is what is happening 1- my wifi won't turn on (turns itself off immediately) 2- I can turn it on if I spam the "turn wifi on" button 3- when I turn it ON it either doesn't find any router or it shows my router but won't connect to it. 4- the moment I unplug/take the SIM tray out,my phone connects to my router even if I can't turn wifi on the moment I take the SIM out the wifi turns on and connects. So I put the tray in again and the wifi disconnects. I see the router but can't connect so I unplug SIM again and it connects again. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:05 PM PDT Im new to using this and getting the hang of removing bloatware and normally non removable apps from my phone. But from what I am reading, when you use this tool to remove an app (say Facebook) its only removed from the current user. Is it still on the phone? Will Facebook still be able to harvest my data and function in the background? A factory reset will bring it back onto the device, so Im afraid its still technically on the phone. After removing a bunch of apps like this, will I see an increase in storage space? Thanks for any help with this. For example, I tried going into settings, but it somehow registered me going into messages and typing 10 different symbols. I've tried cleaning the screen with water-soaked, and then alcohol-soaked cotton, but nothing worked. Should I take it to service, or would buying a touch screen pen suffice? I've been using Solid Explorer and it's been great but I've noticed it doesn't properly read folders if it has a .nomedia file in it. That file is used by a lot of apps so it makes it hard to use the file explorer to see what's really in stuff. I mean when you open the folder it shows but it won't display the proper size when just scrolling through or how many folders and items are inside. | Images saved in PICTURES folder not showing up in Gallery app Posted: 26 Jun 2020 04:56 PM PDT Many apps save images into the DCIM, and they are shown in my gallery app (stock Samsung gallery app). Apps such as Messenger, however, save to a seperate Pictures directory and anything in the Pictures folder does not show up in the gallery app. I cannot change where images from Messenger are saved (there is no settings option in the all to do so). Is there any way I can get the pictures saved to the Picture folder to show up in my gallery app? [link] [comments]  |
