Posted: 02 May 2020 01:22 PM PDT I am going to college soon, and my parents want to buy me a laptop that would be under 1k $. I'm trying to find a laptop that would be ok for gaming and for college work. I'm more of a mmoprg player ( world of Warcraft, etc) so I don't really need anything awesome (I think). Can anyone give me advices? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 May 2020 07:21 AM PDT As the title says, I need a laptop to be used for music production only (no games, no fancy gpu). Some requirements (if possible): Good cpu, 16gb of ram, 256gb ssd, good I/O (I would like to be able to connect 2 screens as well as mouse, keyboard and audio interface - that's all) Also, good battery life. Not the best, but at least a solid screen. Any suggestions? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Buyer's advice for ultrabudget laptop Posted: 02 May 2020 01:59 PM PDT I am looking for an ultra budget laptop that can run games like Roblox and/or Minecraft, and YouTube. I also use homebrew on a bunch of my consoles, and would like to be able to do things like run PKHeX or dump Wii discs to a storage device. I have a budget of $100-$200 USD, and I'm okay with refurbished devices. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Laptop wifi card & antenna upgrades Posted: 02 May 2020 01:38 PM PDT Hey there. My laptop has slow wireless relative to other laptops. On an AC router, I'll get 80 Mbps and the laptop next to mine will get 225 Mbps. I am thinking that upgrading my wireless card and/or wireless antennas may fix the issue. Do you agree? Can you guys recommend some wireless cards and antennas? Current Specs
I hear 802.11ax and 160 MHz wide channels are the best specs for wifi. Will my laptop support either of these? Thank you. [link] [comments]
I have lag spikes in csgo, but 2 days prior to today it was working perfectly Posted: 02 May 2020 01:14 PM PDT Hello guys,I was wondering if u knew how to solve my problem.Fist of all,I have an acer predator helios 300 2018 edition with the following specs: 8gb ram nvidia gtx 1060 with 6gb 1tb hdd+256 gb ssd I7-8750H 2.20 ghz to 4.2 ghz Now,lets talk about my actual problem. Usually,i play csgo with everything o high/very high with vsync on(i have a 60hz monitor) and it doesnt overheat(it has like 70-75 degrees celsius with max fan speed and cool boost on).I tried to solve it by updating my graphics card drivers, but when i was doing this i have observed that one of my ssd partitions was full (pretty stupid of me to make 2 partitions of a 256 gb ssd). After i've cleared my partitions and combined them it was still laggy, so i reinstalled csgo. At first it was working kinda nice(with everything on low/very low) and now it's stuttering again.I dont know what to do. Note:I have this pc for like 9-10 months. Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Spilled coffee with vanilla syrup on my laptop keyboard Posted: 02 May 2020 01:01 PM PDT I stupidly spilled coffee with vanilla syrup on my laptop predator n17c3 keyboard but it was not a huge spill, it was on a spacebar and a bit far from it, not the whole keyboard. I instantly switched it off and turned it over and then wiped the keyboard. But I am still very nervous about what will happen. I tried to turn it on after some time and all the keys work, I tried to type smth and everything works. But it was just two hours since. I turned it off and it is laying down turned over. What should I do? I am so scared. Omg.... Help. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 May 2020 11:58 AM PDT Hi guys I'm in need of some help to find the right laptop or desktop for college. The reason why I'm possibly looking for a desktop for college is because I am going to have to get an iPad for my aviation class and I could use that for taking notes (what do you guys think would that be a good idea?). I won't really need to run any extensive aviation programs on my laptop/desktop either. My budget is somewhere between $1200 and $1700. I have looked at a few different laptops such as the MSI GS66 and I really liked the sleek design with RGB keyboard I was just concerned with the thermals. [link] [comments]
Will it effect the resale value/warranty if i remove the sticker below keyboard on my laptop? Posted: 02 May 2020 11:56 AM PDT It's ugly as hell and I want it gone. I have an Asus Tuf Laptop. If it's okay to remove then what's the best way? Peel it straight off? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2020 11:17 AM PDT Hey all! I'm looking to get a new laptop for research and grad school since mine is hanging on by it's last limb and takes as long as 30 min to open Matlab at times...I was wondering if anyone had reccomendation for laptop that are good for running engineering software, I'm specifically a chemical engineering major but Im looking for pretty much the same features that would be good for any engineering major. Specifically I'm looking for something with good processing speed that will last me at least four years (hopefully). I'd prefer a laptop smaller in size but that's not essential, some ideas I had were either the HP Spectre or one of the smaller lenovo thinkpads but I'm not sure how good those would be for my purpose, my budget is around 1000, but obviously if I can find something good for less that would be great. Thanks so much for any help! [link] [comments]
best laptop with a budget of ~$CAD500? Posted: 02 May 2020 07:14 AM PDT So... I really want to get my dad a laptop for his birthday. My budget is around $CAD500. He doesn't really do anything too complicated on the computer... mostly just reads the news and watches videos. I need something that's durable but also looks nice. His previous laptop was HP and it just broke down so soon after he bought it, so I wanna make sure I get something that will last him a while. Any suggestions? I came across a bunch of Lenovo laptops within my budget.. is that a good brand? help a girl out :D [link] [comments]
The Superior and Suitable Laptop for a Digital Designer and Editor??? Which is Better Posted: 02 May 2020 04:48 AM PDT Hey there, I'm a media design student (well... ex now, I just graduated-ish... thanks to COVID-19) and I'm seeking a new laptop for my needs of designing, editing and other miscellaneous tasks such as generic everyday use and even sometimes gaming, as I do play at a casual, mid range, not huge into PC gaming as I already play on a Switch and PS4 but I'll definitely try it out (However isn't that necessary). My current laptop just ran out of space and in general, is trash in specs. So it's about time I buy a laptop A$AP. For a laptop, I'll need and use it for: Graphic Designing Video Editing Motion Graphics Coding (Web and 2D Game design, HTML + CSS and Java) 3D Modeling Animation Software: Adobe Creativd Suite, Autodesk 365, Gamemaker Studios 2 I have done some research in good laptop candidates in terms of specs and overall physical deisgn (Yes, ugly ass laptops turns me off and I desire the clean, thinnest ones as possible). I'm looking at the Razor Blade 15, Windows Surface Book 2, and the Dell XPS 15 Due to not only their sleek designs, but also powerful CPU/GPU processor capabilities, RAM, and RGB coloring displays. That and of course the price, I'm keeping the budget at around $2000 max, so I don't need a CRAZY high end laptop that goes over $3k+, just mid to high-ish range, with a minimum of 8GB of RAM and i7 intel. Which laptop is better?? And if you got other recommendations, pass those down too please! Also keep in mind, the laptops listed were built as a $1500 to $2000 worth build, so I didn't nor will maximize to its full potential power of specs [link] [comments]

hold off for the new dell xPS 15? Posted: 02 May 2020 10:15 AM PDT Hi all, I'm currently looking to update my Dell XPS 13 (9360 model from 2016) and hoping to get some advice on whether I should wait or get a laptop now. I've also been looking at the Thinkpad X1 Carbon but that thing seems like a fingerprint magnet. My current Dell has been very good to me these couple years but I'm hoping to upgrade to a bigger screen and a bit snappier laptop. My typical use includes the basics (web browsing, word, excel, powerpoint), some photoshop/illustrator work, and a little bit of coding on the side. The leaks look really enticing but looking to get some advice and opinions on what you guys think. Thanks in advance for the help! [link] [comments]

How much should I sell this laptop for? Posted: 02 May 2020 09:43 AM PDT Lenovo Y70-70 Touch. Not my listing, just (almost) the same model.
I was thinking of listing it between 350-500GBP (400-600USD) because of its damaged (but fully functional) keyboard. Also, would like to get rid of it relatively quick (under 1 month) so if anyone has any good tips on selling laptops second-hand please let me know. [link] [comments] |
