Can't acess my hard drive after installing a new OS Posted: 02 May 2020 12:35 PM PDT Hello everyone, hope y'all doing safe in these hard times. Setup is: Inspiron 17r Laptop My situation is: I've got two hard drives, one SSD in which I keep the OS installed and the 1Tb HD for data, the second HD is almost 8years old and faulty (error 2000-0142 Dell), but its been more than 2 years that it's working nicely, besides being faulty, for that matter, On the tragic part of life, I have forgotten its condition, and used the faulty one for saving important data. Yesterday I wanted to format my SSD and install Win10 (running on Win7 before), and so that I don't mess things up, decided to do it without the 1Tb HD plugged. After that, got it plugged again, but my OS won't recognize it (not showing it on disk manager). Tried to boot it again, and run the win10 boot installer to see if it shows on the list of installed hard drives, and it DO shows (unit 1, 700Gb free space - dynamic), so it's not fried, right? (even recognizes how much data it has in it). What could I do to recover the data? I'll try to use a HD usb case/dock to see if I can access my data. Is it worth trying to format and reinstall windows with it plugged, does that make a change? Thanks in advance everyone! Stay safe, cheers!! [link] [comments]

Windows 10 doesnot start normally.... Posted: 02 May 2020 06:14 AM PDT My windows 10 goes into boot error called "page fault in non paged area" and some times other BSOD. I can solve it by going into advance option then safe mode. Then i restart it from lock screen and boot seems normal and it works. But it is tiresome to do everytime the above. Please help. Laptop fan running full speed after reset Posted: 02 May 2020 02:01 AM PDT I have an rog gaming laptop and I reset it yesterday. The laptop has 3 fan modes, silent, balanced and overboost and since the reset one of the fans sounds like it's on silent (selected mode) and the other sounds like it's on overboost and is just blowing cold air out the back. Anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments]
Google account recovery process Posted: 02 May 2020 01:52 AM PDT I think this is going to be more a rant than anything else. I change my google password, and somehow the new password is not what I typed. I have no idea how it happened. I know what password I type, I had to put it twice, and lastpass captured what I have in mind. But Google says the password is not valid. So I did a mistake, and try to recover my password, so I go to google recovery, put my old password, put the code of the 2FA, write my phone number, answer my secret password. Then one of the following two things happens:
I have tried this process too many time I cannot event remember. After this a pop-up turns out in my phone asking me if I have been the person requesting the password reset, I select yes and give an explanation. In the reset link case in 6/12 hours. They don't send anything. I dont have a recovery email, but they could send to the same google account as I am able to still access by my phone (I have been losing my computer session without being able to login back). In the email 3/5 days, I do have an answer telling me they cannot verify me. And to repeat an exactly identical process. When this possibility appears, they let me write a message. I have given all information I have. From what locations have I connected depending on the year. My common locations, I explain the same situation. What apps have I bought on the play store, the ending number of the card. What browsers have I use, what phone have I got during this period. The name of my internet providers. Still they can't verify who am I. Does anyone have a magic trick or something. I cannot understand why if they ask in my phone if it is me who is doing, and I click yes. Why they can't verify is me? Should I go ahead with a $150 laptop reparations? Posted: 02 May 2020 12:55 AM PDT Yesterday, a Kindle fell on my Asus Zenbook 3 UX490U, which caused my laptop fan to emit a buzzing sound. For fear of the faulty fan causing my laptop to overheat, I sent it for repair today morning. My technician diagnosed the laptop with a faulty fan and a 'problem' with the motherboard which requires soldering. He strongly advised that I do not use the laptop for the time being until it is repaired. However, I need my laptop very urgently for work purposes and I need to be away for 2 weeks. I now have the option of receiving my laptop back with the faulty fan, and use it for another 2 weeks, and the second option of sending it for repair and wait 2 weeks to get it back. I know the wiser option would be the latter, but should I go with the former, how likely is that my laptop would be further damaged? Furthermore, what does he mean by my motherboard requiring soldering? Is it a very serious thing? Thank you in advance for your assistance! [link] [comments]

Decently High-End PC struggling Posted: 01 May 2020 10:35 PM PDT My Specs: Ryzen 3700X Stock CPU cooler 2x8gb 3200MHz TForce Vulcan Z RAM Founders 2070 Super 650W EVGA Powersupply Windows 10 2560x1080 Monitor I'm at a loss at this point. I've tried many things from changing W10 settings to scanning my PC for malware but nothing has helped me. I can play games like COD Modern Warfare on max settings at 150 fps, but when i play games like CS:GO or LOL, I can barely get 150 fps and then I drop to 20 fps every couple minutes. At time the games are unplayable, but I know I should have higher performance.I have disabled the full screen optimization features also. My experience is similar to this guy https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/high-end-pc-struggling.3498858/ [link] [comments]

Recovering data from a hard drive Posted: 01 May 2020 04:56 PM PDT Recovering data from a hard drive So basically I have a 4 TB hard drive with at least 2 TB worth of content, but I reinstalled my Mac on that same drive and now I can't see the content. I only see the Mac system stuff. I checked my disk utility and it shows that the drive still is 2TB full so the content wasn't erased, but I can't access it. Is there way I can get it back? I'm willing to remove that Mac software stuff [link] [comments]
