| Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:29 PM PDT Sometimes I use my phone as a calculator for long periods when I work, that part is great however the screen keeps turning off slowing me down, under normal circumstances this is fine but not when I trying to work. I realise I can change the screen time out in the settings menu, but I don't want to have to do that everytime I use the calculator. Is there a simple app or method that I can enable first to keep the screen on indefinably until I manually turn it off? Thank you. [link] [comments]  |
| Remove file(s) from My Sounds dialog Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:24 PM PDT https://i.imgur.com/4wGvHEl.png This is on a Pixel 4 running Android 10 Image shows what I want to fix. Remove files (such as the duplicate I accidentally double added) from the list above. I added these files both by hitting the blue plus icon, and by copying them to the "ringtones" folder on the internal storage of the phone Bonus points for anyone who can show me where, in the file structure or "emulated storage" I can find where these My Sounds live. I have noticed that the "My Sounds" section when browsing for sounds will show different things depending on if choosing a text, phone call, or other type of notification. Similar to how the "Pixel sounds" category has different sounds depending on if you go to it while picking a ringtone versus a text tone. I noticed this when I tried to pick my oldschool "AOL" sound for e-mail, but it didn't show up, even though it clearly does inthe image, when I'm trying to select a custom ringtone. Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:43 PM PDT two related examples: when I enter ho, it autofills to hollywoodreporter.com when I add a t, it autofills to hotnewhiphop.com It selects everything that I didn't type so it isn't as bad as it could be. | Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:59 AM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime MetroPCS 32 GB Model Number SM-J727T. I screwed up by doing a dirty flash (forgot to factory reset) while rooting. And of course it's bricked. But the stupid thing is I can't get into recovery. However, I can access the odin download mode, but without the factory reset, the flash keeps failing. This means its soft bricked and there's possibly a fix. I've asked many people on reddit for getting into the recovery, got many combinations but none of them work. I didn't find a TWRP flash so no luck with that. Is there any way to factory reset or access the recovery mode using a computer or any method. If I need to use another operating system, thats fine, because i have a mac, and pc and a linux machine running ubuntu. Please Help, because its my only phone and I can't afford getting a new one and cant send to a repair shop. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:08 PM PDT Good evening! My C302CA's battery either somehow became disconnected or is completely dead. Crosh showed it at around 30% a few months ago but I've had it roughly three years so not totally unexpected. I tried to always charge between 10%-20% and unplug by 90%. I don't even have the battery indicator anymore as it only turns on with an external power source. What are my options for replacing the battery? I watched a few YT vids on opening up the computer and have built a few desktops but laptops are a totally different beast. Not to mention how thin this is having only really had desktop replacements in the past. Anywhere that's reasonably priced that'd do the battery swipe for me? I live in NJ if that matters at all. This is so that even if the police were to destroy the phone, the video would still be available on a seperate database server to ensure the integrity of the situation. Please don't mention the "mobile justice" or "hands up 4 justice" apps. These apps simply don't work. I believe there are police districts lobbying against this technology, because literally all of the different apps that are supposed to do what I'm describing simply don't work anymore. I am on the hunt for the toughest possible case for my Samsung S20 with a built in screen protector (not a stick on, but something that is a part of the case). I really don't care how it looks as long as it protects my phone and phone screen. I honestly wouldn't care if the case was the size of a brick and looked like a turd, as long as my phone was safe. I also don't care if I lose a bit of functionality for phone safety. Like I don't need the fingerprint sensor as long as my screen is protected. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. P.S. I have had both otterbox and LifeProof break on me from what I would consider normal use (one litterly broke while it was in my pocket with no heavy blows etc...) I was looking up on Google to use it for some good project but all I got was the usual IP camera and Music Player and stuff but I am looking for something unusual. I do have root on it and 512MB of RAM and I am cool with using tasker as well. Today she showed me the phone, and the screen was completely dead, there's still sound coming out of it, but I couldn't find the problem. When I took a look at the camera lens, there was some fog over it. I cleaned it up from the inside of the phone. But still, there was no sign of the screen being on. I tried restating it, cleaning it and putting it in rice. I finally gave up, so please could you help me out with this problem. I can't go outside to fix it because of quarantine. Thanks. As a result looking to possibly buy a new phone. But my question is are there any decent affordable Android Phones. Most phones seem to be either at the extremely low end, or at the high end. I currently have a OnePlus6T/OnePlus6. I mean back in the day you got the Nexus Phones/ and previously OnePlus used to make a decent phone for an affordable price. So I'm playing a game on my android device, I buy gems regularly, now, I changed my phone and when I tried to purchase something I got an error saying I need to switch back to my old device. I did find an solution after contacting the game support but it made me wonder, how do the games know which device am I using? Can they actually track your IMEI/IMSI or what? Isnt it kinda illegal to track your IMEI, how do they do it? I don't think it' data/cache because it works even if you factory reset.
