| 5GHz Hotspot on S8 Galaxy Edge Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:45 PM PDT Is there any wayI could broadcast 5GHz through usb tethering or mobile hotspot with my Samsung Galaxy Edge S8 ? Whatever I try I just can not get above 5mbp/s speed while tethering(4g mobile speedtest itself says 150+ mbp/s) and my phone just doesn't have a frequency band option for switching from 2.4GHz to 5GHz. I've found out that my phone already uses RDNIS6 drivers so that should not be a problem( I've also tried few different versions of RDNIS6 drivers), but somehow on older J5 and A50 versions I was able to change frequency band in hotspot configuration. | Okay Google, where are your settings? Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:21 PM PDT I enabled Voice Access... Very cool! I'm a bit annoyed that it kind-of broke Assistant, but that's another topic entirely. This post is about some settings Google promised me access to, and my treasure hunt to find them that has yet come up empty. According to Google I should have a plethora of useful settings, specifically for Voice Access. https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/6151843 Easy! Simply open up the Settings and have a go.
That menu definitely does not appear anywhere in the Settings app on my fancy Note 10+. I started with a Search🔍 through the settings, then dug by hand through every nook and cranny. The only mention of Voice Access anywhere in Settings is under Accessibility -> Installed Services, where you toggle its permission to use the Accessibility API. Searching for individual settings, from the elusive menu proved equally unfruitful, as did opening Google Now to see what settings were internally exposed for Assistant. I asked Google for help through Voice Access:

I looked for a back door. I don't really get the underlying flow of the Android OS, but I know enough to think about using something like Shortcut Maker ( Voice Access shows exactly 2 Activities: Launch and License Menu, neither of which is helpful here. All of the Activities listed under Accessibility seem to be controlled by My best guess at this point is it's an unfortunate series of corporate oversights. First Google pulls voice-control feature into the handy Voice Access app to prevent it getting left out by the whims of manufacturers. Then they promptly forgot this particular menu, still sitting in the OS source, is still subject to those whims. Then Samsung, as expected, commandeered the Settings app, threw as much of Google's code in the garbage as they could, and in their made-from-scratch rendition, forgot to fill in some important gaps, i.e. this menu. When i try to play a video on YouTube, Reddit, Instagram or elsewhere my phone just shows me a green screen. Sometimes when I reload the video it works again. Is there any way to solve this Problem? | Double TTS text message notification with Bluetooth buds? Posted: 25 Apr 2020 08:59 PM PDT I'm having a problem that a lot of people are also having for over a year now and wondering if its ever been figured out? I see a lot of old posts but haven't seen any solutions yet. I have the original galaxy buds and the buds + and a Google Pixel 2 xl. Android 10. -I enabled the notificatons for google messages (text messages) in the wearable app -It said I didn't have a TTS engine so I enabled the google Text to Speech in my phone -It started reading out the message through the buds, but it repeats every message. -sounds like: PERSON NAME, Messages, Text message. (Then repeats again) PERSON NAME, Messages, Text message.. So I did some research. This has been happeing for over a year at least and its still happening? I've read it's a problem specific to google messages and doesn't happen with other text message apps. I've also read it was a problem with Bluetooth within google app. Either way, I dove deep into my phones settings trying to figure it out. I tried disabling different permissions for different apps, turning switches on and off, clearing caches and data, everything I could think of. Then late into the night just for the hell of it I ungranted SMS permission for Anroid Auto and re granted. It worked! It only played the message once! This continued to work today until mid afternoon at work It started repating again. I tried the AA permission again but didn't work this time. I'm moving a lot of my finances mobile and in the process I was going to download apps like Venmo, Cashapp, and Robinhood. I'm currently in the US but these apps say that they aren't available in my region, they don't even show up on the play store when I search for them. I've cleared the cache, allowed my location, updated the play store and made sure my phone is on Android 10. I'm stuck and I don't really want to use a VPN / APK or other methods to circumvent this because I don't want to screw around when it comes to my money. I'm not sure if this is related but occasionally the entire screen becomes unresponsive and unless I turn the phone off and on it doesn't respond. This second thing usually happens when I try to press the home, back and recent tabs button. The internet was no help unfortunately so far. While reading the comments, I noticed a few alluding to the fact death wobbles are a common issue in jeeps. Welp, out of curiosity I wanted to see if there were any videos about it. So, I went to search bar and typed in just "jee" and it totally autocompleted the search to "jeep death wobble". I've have had this happen in the past with different videos and thought it was a total weird coincidence, but now I'm totally sure it's not. [link] [comments]  |

| How do I remove icons from quick settings bar on my Samsung Note 9? Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:29 PM PDT Hi all, Apologies if I'm being dumb (which is a possibility!), but after a recent update (I'm on Android 10) my quick settings panel now has 9 icons instead of the 5 it used to have. How do I remove icons from the quick settings panel? When I pull down the panel I only want a maximum of 4 or 5 on there. The current 9 icons are overlapping and it's hard to press the ones I want to use! Since the update there's no pencil icon, only the cog icon which takes me to the phone settings, or a 3-option menu where I can change the button order (but not how many buttons/icons are in the quick settings), quick panel layout (which only has 2 useless options), or the status bar icons.
