- Ok,so i just moved 20gb from an sd card to the internal storage which had about 23gb free before this process,then i format the sd card and moved the same 20gb file back to it,how come the free space in my internal storage is now 8.6gb???

Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:56 PM PST I change phones a lot because I sell them for a profit along with customizations etc,but I actually use them as my primary phones,the thing is that right now when I change my phone I have to manually backup things (photos files etc) and restore later, and I lose my progress on some games that don't save on the cloud using Google Games. I want to do a full backup of my phone so I can continue where I left on the new one,but since I don't usually have the old phone I can't use "clone apps" so I was looking and found 2 options,titanium backup (I bought the PRO version btw) and TWRP backups (the phone is rooted ofc) The thing is that I don't really know how to use them,I've never used Titanium before and I only use TWRP to flash .zips and nothing else,can anyone please explain to me what's the best way to make total backups of my entire phone? Also can I use the backup with different phone manufacturers? and since I'm a heavy user I often have only 10-15 gb of space left (from 128gb) would compression allow me to save the entire backup in that little space? or there's a way to send the backup directly to my PC without saving it on my phone first? | Factory reset: What do I need to know? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 09:47 AM PST I plan to factory reset my Huawei P30 lite tonight. I backed up my contact and data to my Google account earlier today. I will back up files and photo on my pc before the reset. Also I will go through every app and see if my recovery settings are up to date (email verified, password known...). Did I miss something? How much time the factory reset will take? Is there something I need to know before doing so? What could go wrong? I am doing a reset because my screen side camera doesn't work. The camera app shots down every time I try to use the screen side cam. | My charging port is breaking, any way to fix it? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:57 PM PST My phone will only charge if a cable is in at juuust the right angle. It's not a messed up cable because the problem persists between all the different cables. The port itself is loose, the charging cable falls out easily and if it shifts the wrong way it'll stop charging. I've got a Oneplus 6. Is there a place I can take it to get that part of the phone replaced? Or do I just suffer the poor port till I get a new phone? [link] [comments]  |

Half my screen died and I had foolishly restarted the phone. I have pin on start set up, but I am unable to enter the pin as that part of the screen is dead. I just need to get the phone up and running for some backups. Phone is a OnePlus 3t. I am unable to get a screen replacement locally, and it would take some time to get one shipped, it seems. I have tried numerous antiviruses and blth say that i am risk free. I have tried looking for an unknown app and uninstalling it but there is none. | RCS chat features only work sometimes Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:22 PM PST I'm on AT&T, and chat features in the Messages app have worked off and on since I got the update 2-3 months ago. Most recently, using the ongoing thread with my wife as an example, it started working Feb 19th. I also started a group conversation with a couple friends over the weekend which was utilizing chat features. This morning an Android update got pushed through, and now messaging with my wife has reverted back to SMS/text and my group conversation is broken (getting the not supported by carrier error). I did not do any messaging before the update was applied, so I don't know if it's causation or just correlation that the chat features broke at roughly the same time. I tried restarting my phone again after the update just in case something got mucked up in that process. So, is this an Android thing, or an AT&T thing? If it is Android, how do I fix it so it works consistently, if it can be? [link] [comments]  |
| Save locations of photos & other media Posted: 02 Mar 2020 04:20 AM PST Hi, android and Apple daily user here (apple for communication device, android for "media" device for work and such, photos videos, etc) With iOS, any photo saved from any app location or otherwise is default saved to your "Camera Roll". Therefore, any photos saved from text messages, Facebook, or other apps go straight into one tidy, organized location, chronologically. With android, this isn't so. Android puts photos into separate folders: DCIM, Messages, WhatsApp, Screenshots, etc. There's no "central location" for media, as it is with iOS. Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:59 PM PST Hi all, I 'm traveling in different time zones quite frequently, and when I add an event in one local time on the android built-in calendar and travel to a different time zone, it automatically changes to local time's perspective. (I'm using Note 9 with the latest OS.) For example, the departure time Gmail automatically generated on 3rd Mar 14:00 when I'm in +07:00 time zone becomes 4th Mar 05:00 on my calendar when I arrive in -08:00 zone. If I rely on what appears on the calendar, obviously I will miss the flight. There is a setting where you can set a different time zone for that specific event. But when it's auto-generated by Gmail, it cannot be changed AFAIK. It's confusing when I write my travel dates because I want the calendar to view the date & time consistently no matter where I go. I do not want it to change the date just because I'm in a different place. This also applies to all the manually entered events that change the date when I move to a different time zone. Is there any way to disable the automatic time-zone adaptation? IMO, an ideal calendar should behave like a paper calendar where you write in the date and it never changes, all the events should be in their local time. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:49 AM PST I changed my lock screen's 6 numbers password the other day because of a coworker looking a bit too close but since I did it in a hurry I forgot it like an idiot. I have been trying to find a way to get back in but I find no answer as to how I can get back into my phone. (I could factory reset but there are a few text screenshots I absolutely need in there). I must have seen 12 different ways to get back in but none work or apply to my situation. Even the Google account method doesn't work I guess because I'm not using a pattern lock so I'm just stuck typing 3 passwords each hour over and over again. I'm 90% convinced I will find my password back in less than a month but if I'm wrong about what kind of password I entered then the only thing I have are third-party softwares claiming they can recover files from behind the lockscreen. I have set a backup point and used a USB key to back up all of this computer's important stuff in case those third party programs install malwares but do I really have no other option? So my sister forgot the lock code for her phone (it's the pattern). I have access to her Google account. I'm wondering how I can unlock it. Google's "Find My Device" doesn't work and I read that it can't unlock phones now. I tried using Samsung's Find My Phone (I signed in using her account). But for some reason it says her phone is offline and when I go to "unlock" it, it asks for a password for the Samsung account. But I signed up using Google, and I didn't create a password. I applied a screen protector to hide a crack on the corner, however the protector decreased my screen size from the both sides due to the curved screen. | Fix Instagram raise to record message Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:39 AM PST Instagram has this feature in DM where you can raise the phone to record a message. It works together with gyrosensor and proximity. But my phone the proximity sensor is glitchy. So now and then DM starts recording messages with the screen off. This resulted a few times in me sending long records of often conversations to random people. So I'm asking, if it possible to remove proximity sensor access permission for Instagram app alone (don't want to disable). I use Lenovo vibe x2 with magisk root. I tried using Instamod but no avail. | Problem with buffer and playback video on social media Posted: 02 Mar 2020 04:09 PM PST Little bit of a background: My sister just got a new android smartphone. Neither of us ever had an android before, so we don't really know much about the most regular problems; The smartphone is a LG k12 Prime. Whenever she is using Instagram or facebook and a video appears on the feed, it loads with a low quality rate, extremely blurry and pixelated, something like 144p or 240p; the same thing happens when seeing stories. The strange thing is that even when the stories end and she clicks to go back to watch again, the video keeps the same quality, instead of buffering in full resolution. She is also complaining about weird glitches. They look like green tearings and dead pixels (it's not a lcd problem, they just look like) These are definitely not , since is to our wi-fi and no one in our these. She already went to these apps configurations and selected a high-quality buffer, but didn't have any success. On a side note, the youtube capped the quality on 720p. How to we unlock the full buffer quality? I'm under the impression that these are all factory configurations made by our carrier, since she got the phone on a data plan. What can we do?
