I spent over a year making a free app to fix the biggest problem with playlists.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:48 AM PST

Hey, guys like many of you I listen to playlists all the time from running, to parties, to just getting myself motivated. However, the biggest problem is that there is no objective way to order the songs in your playlists. However, when the order is wrong it is very noticable, for example, when running a low tempo song play after a high one, on in a party when a high energy, and dancy song is followed by a sad one. To fix this I have created an app to sort songs by various features, such as danceability, energy, tempo, etc to create a progression curve of what you want to feel or do when going through various parts of the playlists.

For example when running you might want to start at a slow tempo, then get faster, easing off a bit, before going for a strong finish with really energetic songs. Or when creating a party playlist, you might want to focus on increasing the dancibility of the songs, with a few breaks in between.

I have also noticed that because the playlists flow better, I skip or add songs fewer times, leading me to make fewer micro decisions, which reduces stress, and people enjoy the music more.

This is my first app, so feedback would be greatly appreciated. All parts of the app are free and accessible without any limits or premiums.

[DEV] Thanks for all the suggestions you guys gave me. I have now released an update for Smartbean, an app to keep track of coffee and tea consumption.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:19 AM PST

(Reposted due to typo in the title)

If you guys don't remember I posted a couple weeks ago about making my first app after finishing a java class in college. You guys gave some good critisism and made some great suggestions on what to add in the next update. I polished up the user interface and added some features. I changed the add price buttons to sliders. I also added an option to change the currency to a few popular currencies.

I reordered the information on the home page and added a colored bar to visualize the amounts of coffee and tea. Some of you suggested adding energy drinks but I didn't really want to stray from the main idea of the app but the suggestions were appreciated.

Here is the play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplyandroidapps.smartbean

    Enable Keyboard at restart

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 12:04 PM PST

    Hi all,

I have been using OpenBoard, as my default keyboard, but after i restart my phone the app wont launch until i unlock my phone, I found out that the hard way and was unable to use my phone until i plugged in a hardware keyboard.

Why do some keyboards like Swiftkey or Gboard are able to start at startup but FOSS alternatives wont start untill i unlock my phone?

Is there any way i can "force" my phone to start the keyboard at startup,so i dont have to have mutiple keyboards installed in my phone?

Looking for an app to track habits. Really specific one.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 11:49 AM PST

I am looking for an app that gives you a month view in which you can tick or cross based on have you done it or not. No weird score or percentages.

I should be able to move between various habits. And every habit should have the typical month shown. I get to see how many times have I done something or not done something.

I feel like the general habit trackers have weird chains and lines. I just want something to tell if I did something or not.

300 promo code giveaway for our realistic drum & guitar apps

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:38 AM PST

Hi all back at it again! This time giving away promo codes for two of our new instrumental apps. This is our first time making instruments and were hoping to update the apps with more features like being able to add sheets and music to play along for practice.

Link to our Virtual Drum Set: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lans.virtual.drum

Link to our Virtual Guitar Basic: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lans.virtual.guitar

About Virtual Drum Set: A difference compared to some others in the marketplace is users are able to move around each part of the drum set. Things such as the snare, toms, kicks, floors, and cymbols can all be moved around to your liking. Our hope is to add an update with various samples of music to play with and practice.

About Virtual Basic Guitar: A bit of a difference compared to other apps is users can strum and tap the guitar strings like an actual guitar. There is still alot of work for this application as we've never really played a guitar before but hope to add more stuff to the app in future updates. Any advice from those who play an actual guitar is really appreciated!

How to Get A PROMO CODE: Just reply below if your interested in getting a promo code for both apps or just one of the apps and state which one. I will then PM you the promo code.

How To Redeem PROMO CODES: Go to googleplay store > click on hamburger icon top left > click on redeem and enter code

*******Update: There is still plenty of codes left, let me know if interested, this thread will be actively checked today and the next few days. If we run out of codes, it will be stated here.

Is there a Reddit app that will block all posts whose title contains a word you select? It can block comments too, but blocking posts is most important.

I think RES can do it on desktop, but need an app. Thanks

Why is it YouTube on Android allows you to minimize some videos. But most of them if you try to minimize it and do a Google search it stops playing and acts like it closes?

Google Drive app says storage almost full > 90% web says otherwise.

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:00 PM PST

As the tittle says... when I open my drive app on Android it says that the storage is almost full with > 90% and then when I open the drive web site it says that it's at 70% including family sharing etc...

Any clue what could be happening?

Note: It's is the same account on both places, Android and Web.

Update: Seems that the Mobile App got sane at last... not showing the warning anymore... Didn't do anything on my side tho.

    Thanks to all.

Looking for a count up app with widget

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:19 AM PST

    Hello,
I'm looking for an app, that can count up a fixed amount every day.
The app must have a widget, so I can see the total amount on my homescreen.

There are plenty of count down apps that does this.
I also found an app called "Thing Counter", but it only counts up manually.

    Thank you

Looking for a lightweight app to take quick voice memos.

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 10:27 PM PST

Hey all. I give public lectures and many times I get ideas about my speech but don't want to properly write it down as I'm preoccupied. I'm looking for a fast and simple app where I can take these quick notes (probably never over 20 seconds) and then later when I sit down on my computer, I can process these notes into my speech.

Any tips on such a app? Thanks.

If I've Never Used TrueCaller, Can People Still Know My Details?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:54 PM PST

I have no idea how this TrueCaller app works. From what I know, you first download it and then give it permission to access your contacts and it uploads all your info on its server from where others can access it right?

So does that mean that if I have never used this app before, people cannot use Truecaller to get my info? Or is my info already up there? How did it get up there!?
