Posted: 26 Feb 2020 06:50 PM PST My temp folder gets filled up with .etvx files and they literally take all my storage. I have tried the so called windows store fix which btw does jack shit. The only thing that I could get to work was I managed to disable the event logger, but now My WiFi search doesn't work, as in, I can't log on to new WiFi hotspots. Does anyone another way around this? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]

How to reduce system and reserved storage for update? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:45 PM PST I have an HP Stream (32GB) that I use for college and sometimes to play Sims 4 (game is on a USB). I have to update to the latest windows and it's telling me to free up 8GB of disk space. S+R storage takes up 16 GB and Apps and Games only takes up 6.60 GB but it's just default stuff. It also tells me I could use a USB that has 11 GB free to start the update. I have a 32GB USB, totally clean, but for some reason it won't read the USB. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 08:42 PM PST I get the error BUGCODE NDIS DRIVER when ever I try to run my OS for the first time. It is annoying because I find that the error means there is something wrong with the network driver. And I don't have an OS installed so it makes no sense because without the OS I can't have a driver installed. Please help I have been stuck on this for a while. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:49 AM PST I was connecting my bluetooth headphones when it suddenly stopped working. Bluetooth does not show up in action center and it says it's turned off in bluetooth and other devices, however, there is no option to turn it on. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted and turned it on. Updated driver and I really don't know what more I can do. Any help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Which version of Windows 10 should I install on a new-to-me 2-in-1? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 06:43 PM PST Got a Dell 2-in-1 tablet PC that can run full Windows. Should I install the latest version, or an older version? Planning on Enterprise edition so I can turn off updates (aka infiltration). I have a legit MSDN key, so it's not piracy. I normally spend quite a lot of time and effort turning off a lot of default crap, removing default crap, etc. after installing Windows nowadays, so that's the angle I'm asking from. How set up two separate audio outputs from a PC? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 12:40 PM PST I play games wearing USB headphones, which play sound from my games and misc computer apps (it's the default sound output device). I simultaneously use my 3mm audio output to play mp3s from Foobar2000 on my stereo which is in the room. (Foobar allows you to set the output device). It's been a great setup. So I just bought a nice pair of new headphones, which use a 3mm jack-- not USB. I will be using them mainly for gaming. I want the same setup as above, but I'm not sure how to do it. The speaker jack in the rear of my computer goes to the stereo... is there a way to use the speaker jack on the top of my case for game audio? The problem is there is only one device appearing in the Windows 10 sound settings... [link] [comments]
What's your favourite version of Windows? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 04:18 PM PST Hi all, Just curious what are some of your favourite versions of Windows? I'm not a huge fan of the windows 10 aesthetic and much prefer the retro look of windows 2000 [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 02:32 PM PST My laptop is a ASUS with 512 gb ssd My laptop is relatively new (only a few weeks old) .. I only have a few programs installed. Vmware, Firefox, office365, Adobe, malwarebytes, discord and a few programs installed that came with the laptop I have no programs running the background during scans. And I am not opening any file during the scan either.. Is it normal for window security to do a full scan of 650403 files in just 13 minutes with no virus detect Or is it broken? I also scanned with malwarebytes and there is no virus detected. I thought window security should atleast take an hour to do full scan [link] [comments]

Windows PC Manage in an Organization Posted: 25 Feb 2020 11:11 PM PST Hi guys, Ive come across a issue that troubling for few days now. If I have around 20 of windows PC's in a same network, how can i control them? I ve worked in a company where it had around at least 300 windows PC where everything is limited for users. All the computers are logged in through standard user permission where cant even install a single software without permission. I mean if we want some program to be installed we have to request from IT Dep where they remotely logged in do those changes where we can only see is a blank screen. We just have to log out from the account and they ll do the rest.all the updates are pushing at the same time etc etc.... So do I need a windows server to achieve this? I mean there are lot of things to choose inside active directory things. what does this WAC (windows admin center) can do? Any tutorial or something where I can follow to achieve this would be appreciate. Thank you :) [link] [comments]
To receive or have access to a note once a week what's a good way to do this? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:22 PM PST There's a note I want to restrict access to viewing it every Tuesday but I'm not sure what I should use to set this up [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:01 PM PST I always used keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+G for writing "]", and CTRL+ALT+F for writing "[". The "F" one works, that's good but to write "]" I must use right ALT, which is annoying. Also many of shortcuts that I used with left alt doesn't work anymore. (e.g. in Premiere Pro - always used L-Alt+arrows right and left to move clips by one frame, doesn't work anymore). These worked for me for like 5 years at least on windows 10, even after two reinstalls, but after I did third one few days ago, the shortcuts don't work anymore. It didn't work even when there weren't any programs installed, so no program is blocking it. Thanks for any help. [link] [comments]
What are my options for repairing/reinstalling Windows 7? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 12:38 PM PST I originally posted the issue here: https://old.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/et0idn/stuck_on_boot_manager_failure_status0xc000000f/ Dell OptiPlex 790 DT SFF Desktop Computer Intel Core i5 i5-2400 3.10 GHz Desktop 4GB RAM 250GB HDD DVD-Writer DVDRW Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Boot Manager says windows failed to start. I was able to run some kind of hardware scan/check, and it says everything is fine, including the hard drive. Can I install something on a USB to boot from and copy files from the hard drive? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 11:08 AM PST I am trying to setup a NAS for my house and to make it easier on myself, I want to be able to access the folders on the second system to drag and drop files to and from it. I had it working at one point but now it isn't and I have tried everything I can. I can see the computer over the network and stuff but I can't access the files. I have enabled all the required sharing options but it still isn't working. I appreciate any help. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 10:41 AM PST Like usual, more forced windows updates breaking my computer again. I fell asleep with my computer on and woke up to my internet not working. My computer no longer recognizes my wireless card. I checked recent updates and it installed a new wireless lan driver on its own. Does anyone know how i can fix this and turn off automatic driver installations? Edit: Turns out windows actually completely deleted my wifi card app that is on my computer as well. Is there a way to make Windows Photo Gallery ignore video files? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 03:49 AM PST I have folders with photos and videos mixed. I usually open photos with Photo Gallery and use the arrows left and right to see all photos in the folder. The problem is it ends up also opening the videos and it's very annoying because it takes quite the time and it doesn't even have a volume control. Other than placing videos in a different folder, that is not a sollution for me, can I make this program understand it's not a video viewer? I'm using Windows 8. [link] [comments]
I found a fan-made ad-free version Clover v.3.5.2 (Chrome-like tabs for Explorer) Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:47 AM PST I've been using Clover since the beginning of time but had to uninstall it when they started showing me pop-up ads I can't get rid of. I tried QTTabBar for a bit but found it to be inferior. I decided to do a Google search for "Clover 去广告" which means "ads removed" in Chinese and I found this site. I CANNOT PROMISE THAT THIS IS SAFE. INSTALL THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. In fact, Windows Defender and Malwarebytes took an issue with this when I downloaded it. I decided to take a leap of faith anyway since the Carrot guy (owner of the site) is actively discussing in comments and it didn't feel like a scam, and added it to exclusions. I had to rename the two install/uninstall .bat files to English before they worked, and in the end it's been working fine on my system for the past few days, with no ads and hopefully it hasn't been secretly doing some virusy shit on my system. Win10 shortcut icons blank on reboot Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:28 PM PST So I'm finding that on restart or log out/in, Windows 10 doesn't retain the cached shortcut icons for games stored on other drives (a 2tb HDD and a 512gb SSD). I've tried deleting the icon cache.db file in %localappdata% but that doesn't work. It seems to only affect games on other drives, almost as if there's a setting for caching icons on different drives but I'm not finding anything. Anyone else have experience with this and what did you do to fix it? [link] [comments] |
