Can't transfer photos to SD card. Posted: 26 Feb 2020 08:04 PM PST Every time I try to transfer a photo from the phone to the SD card it gives me a message that says "couldn't move file error unknown". I am using the Google files app. If anyone has any idea what is going on or what I can do to fix it, that would be great. [link] [comments] |
Wifi randomly turns on since day one of ownership. Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:28 PM PST I have an LG v30+. Great phone. To this day, it is not buggy and does not crash. However, no matter what I do, I cannot usually get wifi to turn off and stay off. It regularly tries searching for networks after I shut it off. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to stop doing this, and nothing works. It's always been this way. It makes my daily battery expectations to vary greatly. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Almost everytime I take my phone off the charger it automatically shuts off Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:17 PM PST I've recently been having this weird (strange) where my phone just automatically shuts off by itself almost eveytime I take it off the charger. Has this happened to anyone else, and if there's a way to fix this I have an LG V30+ and running Android 9. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Is Android Auto bad for battery health, since it keeps the battery at 100%? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 05:31 AM PST I know it's bad to keep your phone's battery at 100% for extended periods of time, and that's exactly what you're doing to the battery if you keep Android Auto running if you run Android Auto long enough, the battery will fill up and then it'll stay full since you have to keep it plugged in. I imagine it doesn't really matter for an occasional 30 minute drive but what if, say, you wanted to do a long road trip? Or what if you were doing it for 2 hours every day? [edit] I typically don't charge my phone all the way to 100%, or leave it plugged in overnight. It's usually 40%-50% when I wake up, then I get it back up to 80%-90% before going to work or otherwise starting my day and generally hover it around 80ish percent at work. This is why I cared enough to ask in the first place, it's not like I'm already doing daily overnight charging or anything. And I have a Verizon S10+ so I can't solve this by rooting and capping my battery at 90% unfortunately.[/edit] Galaxy S10+ on the off chance that matters. P.S. I tried to Google around on this myself before posting this, but most of what I was getting was about the potential for your battery to drain even while plugged in while running Android Auto since you're simultaneously running the projection, using the GPS, etc. [link] [comments] |
New update on Galaxy S9, how to delete cache for storage in my files? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 08:33 PM PST so usually when i need more storgae i delete my cache from my files and it clears up space. Weird app, non-rooted custom boots, etc. Posted: 26 Feb 2020 08:18 PM PST Got an android phone from a semi-close relative. I have little to no knowledge of the inter workings of android or linux systems. When I boot it every 3-4 times it comes up with a custom unlock screen and this. The phone is getting increasingly slower to the point of unuseability with no change in apps. It's a Samsung galaxy S5 If this information and the included picture is meaningful to anyone please let me know. The person I got it from is related to a local PD spook. It's his old wife's phone. Posted: 26 Feb 2020 05:27 PM PST I can't open one specific note on my phone, when I click on it the app closes right away. If I click in any other note it's ok, the app keeps working. What should I do? It's there any way to backup the notes and the content inside the specific note I'm trying to open? [link] [comments] |
WebDAV Client App Issue or Android Version issue Posted: 26 Feb 2020 07:20 PM PST Our company use WebDav Nav Lite to access our webdav server from the company phone. Our webdav server does not have a digital certificate (non-https). Everything was working fine up until 3 weeks ago, we noticed that WebDav Nav Lite no longer connects to our webdav server if the Android version is version 9 or 10, but connects with no issue for lower Android versions. We know it's not an app issue because we tested other webdav client apps with the same results (no matter what type/brand of Android phone). We also know it's not a server issue because it can be accessed thru the android devices' browser, whether it's Google Chrome or Firefox. Question, is there a restriction set by Google in Android versions 9 and 10 that prevents apps similar to WebDav Nav Lite that prevents the device from connecting to non-https webdav server? Anybody else ran into this issue? Hopefully an Android dev or somebody from Google can see this post or if anybody can direct me to the correct group within Google to ask this question. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2020 06:50 PM PST I'm currently on a Moto g7 play, and I've noticed that most of the games on the Play Store do not support notches. Instead, it places a black bar on the top or bars on the top and bottom. Is there any solution to force apps to go fullscreen without rooting, and if a root is needed, how would I go about fixing the issue. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:32 PM PST hello redditors. tonite i shall rant about this lovely Fire hd 8 i have recently purchased. its not that i dont like amazon devices. they tend to work fine on a good day. I am a loyal fan of the android OS and themeing roms, stock or custom. The one thing i dislike about the fire tabs is that damn home screen. If i wanted a home screen and an app store all in one i would just hold the recents button for dual screen or some bs. Not having it. The home screen is way too cluttered and I cant get nova launcher set as my default home launcher. I am currently trying to gain root access with king root as i am to lazy to use adb on my pc at the moment and it is 11:50 pm and im tired. Its stuck on 39% and is annoyingly making me wanna punch my phone screen. thanks alot amazon for limiting your devices capability of user customization. I read on XDA forum that Kingroot works n thought to myself. I could save alot of time and money 💰. not really but hey, one click and go. Nope. i was disappointed. hopefully I can find another root method or a good custom rom for this piece of work. Maybe its not worth it , but i am determined to root any device no matter what or how long it takes. wish me luck on this one guys. I'd rather try to strip it of all or most amazon and google ties and rely on other sources for app repositories. thanks again amazon for making a halfway decent product 😂. I want a refund fr. One of these days... [link] [comments] |
Screen wakes up when I get a text. Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:32 PM PST I like to have my phone set up so I can see a preview of my text on the lock screen, but not to have the lock screen wake up when I receive them. I do use the stock messaging app. I had it set up so the notification was set to "silent and minimized" But with the new update, I cant seem to set it back. I want my texts to appear on the lock screen but not wake the lock screen when I receive it. Is there any way to do this now? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 08:24 AM PST I've been noticing this since the update last week. I drive a lot, and use Google Assistant to send texts all the time. My Google Pixel 4XL, when responding to, "OK Google, Text so-and-so", will listen to the message and then send immediately when I finish talking. Previously, it would respond, "So that's a text to so-and-so reading, 'I'll be there in 15 minutes.' Is that right?" and I could confirm or change it. Now, if there's a mistake in the text (as there often is) from either me mispeaking or Google mishearing me, I have to send a follow up text. Is there a way to re-enable confirmation before the text sends again? I haven't been able to find the feature in settings. [link] [comments] |
Any way to install Samsung Sound Assistant app on a non-Samsung phone? (Pixel 4 in this case) Posted: 26 Feb 2020 09:43 AM PST https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.soundassistant I'd like to control volume on a per-app basis. I often play emulators while listening to podcasts but the SNES emulator I have has no internal volume control. I tried other snes emulators but they run like shit and the android port of RetroArch is fiddly and frequently crashes, so I'm stuck with this one to get through the next few games on my list. Samsung offers this Sound Assistant app for their phones but I can't load the .apk onto my Pixel 4 (Sound Assistant crashes on startup) I'm open to any solution here.. Can I somehow install the Samsung launcher and that will let me sideload the Sound Assistant that way? Is there any jailbreaking or unofficial launchers that have the same option as the Samsung Sound Assistant? Emulation and podcasts are probably the things I use my phone for most aside from work and texting. Really would like a solution here. [link] [comments] |
Pixel vs Other Android Reccomendation Posted: 26 Feb 2020 05:48 PM PST I really want to move from iOS to android but I want to make sure whichever phone I get works seamlessly with Google accounts and services as I use them for nearly everything. Will any android phone work well with Google or should I get a Pixel? I would like to have the ability to put a micro sd card into the phone in order to upgrade storage for music and such but it is not paramount. I use a pixelbook go for work and home use and I love it so I'm inclined to go with the pixel but i would like to hear some opinions and recommendations on other phones. Also I use chromecast and google home for a lot of things as well, I am pretty deep in the Google ecosystem. Also any recommendations on good phone carriers? Verizon? Not crazy about getting into another contract but unlimited data is nice. [link] [comments] |
Text don't dissappear from the screen! Posted: 26 Feb 2020 05:48 PM PST No. It's not related to the AMOLED things. A few minutes ago I tried to copy a text, but by mistake I swiped the text (like to paste it somewhere else). But that that text is still there annoying the screen! Android 9, February update. Xiaomi Mi A3. I haven't tried rebooting the phone, maybe you guys know how to solve this without doing so. Or even... That this can't be fixed by rebooting the phone (which is unlikely). Looks like this! [link] [comments] |
How do I keep an app from removing my access to native brightness settings w/o my consent? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:50 PM PST |
Posted: 26 Feb 2020 07:48 AM PST I was taking a picture of something this morning with the stock Camera app on my Pixel 3 and a tilt level showed up. It would go away on its own, too, seemingly when I tilted too far. This is actually a neat feature. However, I have no idea why it popped up, I can't seem to consistently make it pop up, and I can't find any way to turn it on manually. Does anyone have any idea? [link] [comments] |
Disabling Do not Disturb for certain people in Snapchat Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:15 PM PST Hey, so I've recently setup do not Disturb mode permanently and allowed certain "starred" contacts to make noise notifications when they SMS or call me. However I would like to do the same with Snapchat. Is there a way for me to do that, I've checked Snapchat's notification settings (within the app and Android's settings) itself but couldn't find anything. Is there another way to do this, either by an app in the Play Store or via a MagiskModule or root solution? Thank you :) Edit: I'm gonna give Tasker a download later and see if it can disable DND just by reading the content of the notification so when say "John Smith sent you a message" it'll disable D&D play the notification noise then re-enable. I'll post if I'm successful. [link] [comments] |
Any way to speed up browser videos? Posted: 26 Feb 2020 01:13 PM PST Hi guys! Recently switched from an iPhone to a OnePlus and I'm trying to find out if there's any way to speed up videos watched on chrome? Kinda got addicted to watching talks, conferences, and a bunch of content at 1.5 or 2x speed. In my iPhone I had a shortcut thingy that would do it but I'm having trouble finding an equivalent on Android. I have a pretty great chrome extension on my PC called 'Video Speed Controller' but unfortunately there's no way of running extensions on chrome mobile, right? Thanks for the help!
