Dell Touchpad suddenly stopped working yesterday evening Posted: 15 Feb 2020 08:39 AM PST So I have a Dell Latitude E6330 Laptop, and yesterday I went to college with it, used it and everything was working just fine, but when I got home and opened my laptop, I found the touchpad wasn't working at all and the keyboard is occasionally gets odd delays.
I could really use some help here, so if anyone has a solution, I'd greatly appreciate it. Oh yeah, a few more things to note: I got a "alps_setmousemonitor error" message when opening my laptop, although after uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad got rid of that message. My Mouse is also unable to scroll for some reason, so if anyone has a solution to that too, I'd appreciate it. [link] [comments]
Stuck between my case and a screw Posted: 15 Feb 2020 01:38 PM PST Currently my motherboard is sandwiched between a screw and standoff that removed itself (or I entirely didn't check to see if it was in the hole properly) from the hole to keep it set and now I can't remove the screw at all or remove the stand off from the back as my board is still in the case, what can I do to get that screw out? Ive tried using some pliers to try and keep the stand off in place to try to unscrew it but that didn't seem to work, and I'm concerned I may be stripping the screw each time I try to remove it. My case is relatively small in the back so I can just barely get a set of pliers to hold the standoff. I accept any help possible. I can try to provide pictures. [link] [comments]

Modern warfare not working on laptop Posted: 14 Feb 2020 07:29 PM PST Every time I try to play modern warfare it works for like 2 minutes and I can load into the multiplayer lobby but then it displays "disc [3.1]: 'common_mc.fc'". I've checked for updates for my drivers and there are none. I've ran battle.net in admin mode. I've taken off overlays. I've ran ccleaner. And I've tried two different WiFi connections one of them being a mobile hotspot and nothing has worked so far. This didn't used to happen but I downloaded the new update today and now it doesn't work. [link] [comments]
Windows bluescreens whenever I connect a specific hard drive Posted: 15 Feb 2020 03:14 AM PST On my computer, I have several hard drives. One drive has W10, one has W7, and others have others on it. I was using the W7 machine fine, switched off, went on to W10 as I normally would, and then so does froze. Okay, that's fine, it happens. Reboot, doesn't get into Windows. Okay, boot into 7, bluescreen. Right, okay, forgot that W7 has to run checkdisk on every connected drive if W10 ever sees it. Let check disk run, gets to Drive I (games drive, just has games on it) Bluescreen Okay, unplug drive, start computer, check disk finished checking remaining drives, boot into Windows, everything is fine. Plug in drive while Windows is still running, drivers install, blue screen. The pertinent info is:
Any ideas? This drive seems to have been poisoned by either W7 or (more likely) W10. I'm guessing I'll need to boot into linux to remove the badness, but I have no idea what the badness might be. Could even be a driver thing. I have no clue. Edit: managed to fix it. Plugged it into a different w10 machine and it didn't bsod. Coped necessary files off of it, ran check disk, plugged into main PC while it was running W7, done scan and fix and it seems to be working fine again. [link] [comments]
Input changing on a hotel tv [different than similar threads with a similar problem] Posted: 14 Feb 2020 05:33 PM PST My wife and I are on a weekend trip for Valentine's Day and trying to hook up our own device to stream on the hotel tv. The tv has no buttons on the sides, and the remote is a clean remote which is apparently without the capability to change input. Similar threads have said two things:
The specific model in our hotel has a button on the bottom, but is has no function except to turn the power on or off. It isn't a joystick like some TVs have, just a standard push button. The tv is an LG lg 43lx560h-ua Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
