As you can see here, Xiaomi is going to replace dialer and messaging apps with Google ones due to some EU restrictions. EDIT: Russians will also have pre-installed Google Messages and Google Dialer. | Mi 10 / Mi 10 Pro expectations? Posted: 03 Jan 2020 09:46 PM PST I'm not exactly talking about the specs, as that is already leaked everywhere by the time this is written. I am going to be talking about what kind of features the phone will include. Software wise, it is definitely going to come with MIUI 11, but I do hope that it will have Android 10 out of the box. It'll still be kinda weird to have Android 9 on a new flagship phone at this stage. The headphone jack is like a 50/50 situation to me. The last phone to not have it was the Mi 9 / 5G (Unless you count the Mix Alpha). But they recently brought it back on the K20 / 9T, Note 10, and the K30. The chance of an SD card slot is very slim. However, it's still possible due to the K30 having that. So,what do you guys think? Looking at the specs of the Mi 10 seems like it is something to compete against the X2 Pro, Reno Ace and OP 7T. This is really more of a true successor to the K20 / 9T rather than the K30. [link] [comments]  |

So i was searching for posts about fixong my MI A 2 because it wouldnt load further than the opening screen of the Android logo. And then, it would start over. I presses every button combination known to man. But nothing, nothing ever worked. But then, in an anger induced rage i proceeded to tap the on/off/cameradoubletap(do not use that shit again) over and over and over and over again. Like a million times. And the Android underlining startet swaying away. And my phone came back to life. I've done this now over ten times, it's shit but it gets what you think is a ruined phone back up its feet. | [MiA3] Fingerprint Sensor technique Posted: 03 Jan 2020 05:54 PM PST For those who probably are having problems with the fingerprint sensor functionality on the Xiaomi Mi A3 I'm gonna tell you guys a technique to make the sensor work 100% of the time: Instead on placing the finger where the light tells you to, go lower. | Why does Roborock S5 / Mi app requires access to my location to connect to Wifi? Posted: 03 Jan 2020 09:23 PM PST When I first setup the S5, the iOS app requires access to my location. I disabled that and my S5 will not connect to my Wifi (2.4 Ghz). I then enabled the location access and now I can connect. Once done, I disabled the location access. About 2 weeks later, my S5 lost Wifi connection (blinking blue light and the app said "Device offline"). I went through the same setup as shown above and it's connected. 2 weeks later, same issue (!?). So it seems the S5 / Mi App requires constant access to my location or else it'll disconnect. Could anyone confirm if location access is required at all time? If yes, I'll just return it, since I don't think a vacuum need to know my location. [link] [comments]  |

With my previous phone, every time I delete a picture/video in Google Photos, the picture/video will also be deleted in the phone gallery but with my new Redmi, it doesn't work like that. If I delete a picture/video in Google Photos, the picture/video isn't deleted from the gallery. Does Google Photos does not has access to my gallery? If yes, how do I give access to Google Photos? I am missing out on features that are supported on other devices on this same line, like the regular Mi 8. My choice of this device was based on the decision to buy the superior Xiaomi phone at the time, even accepting the higher price tag. Now I am missing on things that I would like to try that Mi 8 users can. I can't complain about the Mi Home Security Camera, but the DaFang is really not working well for me: It's got constant connection issues and I think, being in europe and having my account on china servers is not helping at all. The reason for having my account on china server is because, AFAIK, some devices are not intended to be marketed outside of mainland China, although Aliexpress shops end up exporting them. This is (or at least was) the case for the DaFang camera, and I'm not sure if any of my aquara sensors have the same restriction. Anyway, I'd like to get a new camera and would like you guys to recommend me a modelthat can see in darkness, is motion-capable and does not have connectivity issues. Additionally, if anyone could shed some light on how to know which devices are restricted to china, it would be helpful for me to transition my devices to european servers and see if this improves the performance at all. | Camera2 api, can't enable it on note 6 pro Posted: 03 Jan 2020 03:35 PM PST [Solved] So, I rooted and enabled camera2 api for my n6p no problem and was using gcam... now since the update do miui 11 I re-rooted the device successfully but can't seem to enable camera2 api. I tried editing build.prop (tried changing to 0 and 1 back to back), tried flashing different enablers from TWRP recovery, tried Terminal Emulator commands, tried ADB commands from PC...
