Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:33 AM PST I lightly bumped my computer it shot off and makes no attempt to boot when I hit the power button. I know my PSU is working because I have a tester. I've triple checked all my connections. Does anyone know what the problem might be? The light of the on button doesn't even appear, it's as if the button isn't working but i dont know what the problem is. Edit: I wanna thank everyone who's offered advice. I've made sure to triple and quadruple check all the connections, I've reseated everything, tried different outlets, the CMOS battery and jumping the mobo. I guess I'm just going to do a full rebuild and hope it works. After attaching it computer started not to boot up, all fans work and power button blinks 3 times but the screen is black. It works when i unplug the gpu tho. | So let's actually discuss. How does the Wraith Stealth (Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler) really perform? Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:44 PM PST People on this sub will usually say that the 3600's stock cooler performs the same as something like the Hyper 212 Evo so new builders should save the cash. What I'm not sure about is if they are confusing it for the Wraith Prism (the 3700x's, or any other "x"'s stock cooler) which actually uses heat pipes to dissipate heat. Having no experience with the Wraith Stealth, I assumed that they're fine and one of the reasons you'd be getting the aftermarket cooler is for a quieter experience. I've read a lot of topics with people reporting that their 3600's are idling at high temperatures with the stock cooler. I should've really asked this a while ago. Are there people here who use the Wraith Stealth but are having decent temperatures? Idles at below 40 or even 50? Load temperatures that do not exceed 80? | New PC build not turning on, not sure why Posted: 29 Jan 2020 12:14 PM PST Hey all, so my new PC build I'm working on won't power on and I have no idea why. First, specs: Mobo: Asus rog strix b450i CPU: R5 3600x GPU: msi gtx 980 (from old PC) SSD: Intel 660p 1tb Ram: Trident z RGB 3600 MHz Psu: Corsair sf600 Plus random fans and air cooler. So this is my third PC I've built so I don't think I'm making some stupid newbie mistake. What I know: Motherboard, ram, SSD, and power supply works, uses my friend's 2200g to power the rig on and update bios to support ryzen 3rd gen The CPU is probably not dead. The first one I ordered the PC wouldn't turn on either, so I sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement. Doubtful I got two DOA in a row Graphics card worked fine in my old PC, never had any hiccups. With the 3600x, the motherboard RGB lights are doing their thing, so it's getting power. Completely lost on what to do. All cables are plugged into the motherboard and GPU. Power supply is obviously turned on. I can't even short the pins to turn the PC on. Which do you think will be better in the long run? I managed to install fresh windows on my ssd only when I disconnected my hdd. The issue is, when I try to connect my hdd and boot the pc I get a blue screen that says windows needs to be repaired. SSD is my first boot option,and I never had windows installed on HDD. Please help. | Planning on Building My First Gaming Pc. Need some advice. Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:14 PM PST So my old gaming laptop is way out of date and I have been wanting to build a PC for awhile. I don't want to spend too much but I also don't want to skimp out and feel the need to upgrade in the near future. That being said, I have put together a parts list currently at around $1900 with windows 10 and a monitor. I was hoping to be around the $1500 mark. Any recommendations on some parts I could go cheaper on without effecting performance too much, or would it just be worth it to save up the extra few hundred dollars. | Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:56 AM PST So recently my little brother has been wanting a PC for his highschool work / mid tier games it seems. He has a PS4 so Ive made it clear to him that his main gaming platform will be the PS4 and not the PC. He still wants to be able to play some games such as: xcom2, Halo wars 1/2 and Gears tactics. I have made a quick PC that I know I went overboard on for what he is going to do with the PC, so please help me tone down the pc build or save (his own) money. he has about $500 so spending should be around 500 or less.

I want to build something with enough longevity to last me at least midway through the next console generation at least. I want to be able to play newest releases on 1440p with at least 60fps. I have the chance to buy either an used GTX 1080 for $280 (the gigabyte 3-fan model, it's been used for almost two years but still has good thermals) or an open box GTX 1660 Super for $210 (the EVGA model, still has the adhesive on the shroud, so it's been hardly used if at all). So, what do you think? Better performance but also aging card for $280 or like new but worse performing value option for $210? | (Desperate, please help) PC boots into bios but not into Windows Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:21 PM PST Built a PC, successfully installed windows, booted into windows 10, changed the resolution to 1920x1080 and it black screened. Now it won't boot into windows at all, it'll show the windows logo and the circle below it moves before black screening again, it usually crashes the same time my mouse and keyboard light up. I've successfully gotten into windows twice but only after reinstalling it I've used this GPU for two years on my old build so I'm fairly sure it's not fault, Not sure what's up, please help. Posted: 29 Jan 2020 01:12 PM PST Hello, i've had this computer for 3-4 years and she has worked flawlessly until today, when I press the start button the fans starts turning light go on for barely 1 second when i try to start her again nothing happens, no lights no fans, after I reboot the power supply the same thing happens again. I have checked the cpu,the ram slots, checked if all the cables were properly put in i dont know what to do next, i have a feeling I need to buy a new motherboard but hopefully someone on this forum can help me. I am new here.I am also a newbie in pc building. i assembled my pc from a store. it has: ryzen 7 3700x,Aorus b450,gigabyte gtx 1650 & four Corsair 8 gb rams (2400 mhz). System was giving BSOD issues with 4 rams so I took out 2 rams (slot 2 &4). System stopped BSOD. I then removed those 2 rams & put back other 2 rams in the same slots.PC was still working. BUT it gives BSOD again whenever I use After effects or other heavy softwares. please help. Been building for 25 years give or take, never used anything other than radiator style coolers, so I need some guidance on which AIO will work best for this CPU and case combination? And since I am here, how does the build look? Primarily a gaming machine, possibly throw my plex server on it as well but do not know yet.

Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:45 PM PST 90% of the suggestions are going to be SpeedFan, I've already tried that with multiple guides and it didn't do anything. I know 3 pins don't change RPM automatically, but I've heard there's ways of controlling them somewhat, like making it so they aren't at 100% all of the time. That would be nice. | help build a cheap desktop to my mother in law Posted: 29 Jan 2020 02:40 PM PST hi guys, my mother in law need's a new pc but she does not want spend much. her budget of 200 to 300 euros max.but if I could get 200 or 250 euros will be amazing she will be using that pc just for browsing nothing else. right now she has a very old pc wich I tried update but can go up to max 1 gb memory lol as well the mother board for a reason not recognize a ssd, and we cant change the processor as well, anyway.... she has keyboard mouse and monitor. so I did a list on amazon trying get cheap stuff but thinking as well in 10 years will still be able to upgrade the processor memory, nvme etc... my list was 350 pounds I would like reduce that if possible. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4jt4BZ could you guys help me on this mission? thank you [link] [comments]  |
