Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:23 AM PST i hear many good things about ONEUI, in terms of utility and productivity. such as: long screenshots , editing screenshots, versatile notification, rich settings etc. i usee LOS, and while i can download apps to mimic these functions, it is not optimal. so which rom would fit my needs the most? | Gmail notifications no longer appearing? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:40 PM PST I have multiple Gmail inboxes linked to my phone and for a couple of accounts, I always swipe away the notifications since seeing the notification is enough. I'm not sure if it's adaptive learning or what, but now for those inboxes that I swiped away the notifications, I no longer receive notifications for any incoming mail. The other Gmail account that I open the emails of still works fine though. No settings have been changed since, but I went through all my Gmail app settings and disabled, then re-enabled inbox notifications. I made sure Gmail hasn't been put to sleep or battery optimized. I'm not sure what else to do. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I'm leaning towards this being an Android problem rather than Gmail since I'm still receiving notifications for the single account that I regularly open. Anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this? I'm using Samsung Note 10+. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:18 PM PST I got a Nexus 7 (wifi) with Cyanogen and Clockworkmod recovery. I'm trying to install a lineageOS on it, but first I need to get rid of CWM to install TWRP I've tried: fastboot flash recovery twrp.etc.etc..img I get an error say it's too large I've downloaded the TWRP manager app and gave it root access. Downloaded the recommended zip file and then it just fails without specifying why Lastly I tried installing the zip file through CWM (not even sure how this would work) but that fails as well Not sure what to do now. | Wtf is this gray frowny face!? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:30 AM PST I have an LG v35 thinQ. Recently, randomly, I click on a link and what comes up is a gray screen with a little gray square pixelized frowny face. This just started like 2 weeks ago. I can't find any info on it related to Android's (if I have when I click the link it's the damn frowny guy), just Google chrome on a PC. I've cleared the cache on the app and did the clean up or whatever. What is this thing and how do I make it stop? It's so frustrating! [link] [comments]  |
| Making a widget for aldimobile app Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:59 PM PST I have a Sony Xperia XZ Premium and am with ALDImobile. The app is ok but it doesn't offer any widgets. I'm wondering if it's possible to make one myself for it to show how much data I have left in the cycle on my home screen. | Freezing apps instead of uninstalling them Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:50 AM PST Is there a way to freeze installed apps so that they can't do anything on the phone unless I deliberately unfreeze them? There are some apps that I want to keep on the phone but I don't want them to use any battery, notifications, etc. Basically nothing except using up storage. | Ulefone Armor 6E might be bricked? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:00 PM PST I'm hoping someone here can help me. I'm a tech light weight and I followed some instructions I found online to root my phone. The instructions did not include installing a program like TWRP (which I've since found out is very bad). I was having issues running things like Google Pay and my banking app since my phone was rooted. I found another site that walked me through relocking my bootloader. Here's the issue. When I rooted my phone, I added a modified boot file on my operating system. I thought when I relocked the bootloader, it would bypass it or something. Now my phone is rebooting every 5 seconds. The splash screen with the Ulefone logo says "Red State Your device has failed verification and may not work properly. Please download boot image with correct signature or disable verifed boot. Your device will reboot in 5 seconds" I can't reboot into fastboot. I can't get abd to work because it reboots so fast. I don't know where to go to next. Can anyone here help? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:24 AM PST When hitting a share button, the share menu shows four contacts and a few apps but I can't pin or unpin any other contacts. A Longpress on anything gives me the option "App info" but nothing else. Sometimes the shown contacts change for no apparent reason. | Hyperlinks in email and Google assistant? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 06:49 PM PST Android: 9 Samsung S8 Active Recently a couple of things started going on that I cannot understand. Google assistant started launching like a mad man, by itself. I turned it off, but it continued. One day I got a notification (that I blew thru because I was using maps and driving) that I believe said something about the email app trying to launch links or something? So I disabled it and kept driving. I'm not sure the email app was it, but ok. Now, I want my hyperlinks back on the email app. I don't wanna switch everything to the gmail app or anything else, I just wanna be able to click links in the email app and launch em in the internet app like normal. I'm having a problem with Chrome, where when I attempt to download any type of file, no matter what type, it says "Chrome needs permission to access storage". I've gone into settings and enabled storage access for the app under permissions, but the error still comes up. I've rechecked it multiple times, but the error still appears. Now after a few days I after getting used to it I was looking through the system settings. While browsing through "Apps and Notification" I found all of google apps twice. And when i open a file manager it shows that only 400mb is used? What could those 8 gigs be? I have tried clearing app caches, etc. I also did a factory reset just recently. I've set it to 15 minutes and get the notification that I've got 10, then 5 and then 1 minute left for Reddit. In the end, it locks reddit completely. I've tried stopping reddit in the settings but it hasn't helped. It is also not allowed to run in the background. Anyone who can help or having the same issue? [link] [comments]  |
| Can't view a snapchat story of my Girlfriend on android Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:27 AM PST I have a samsung s8 and tried opening my GF's snap story today but it wouldn't open. The blue circle around her profile is there, meaning that she posted a story. I tried clicking on it but whenever I do, the screen turns black, doesn't even open the snap and just closes out immediately. | How to change what happens when the Google app opens after long pressing the home button Posted: 31 Jan 2020 09:33 AM PST Hello, So up until a few days ago, everytime I long pressed the home button the Google app would open on the discover tab. A few days ago it changed and now when I long press the home button Google Assistant opens app, but that's not the behaviour I want. If I disable Google Assistant it prompts me to enable it after long pressing the home button. I don't know how to change it back and have tried everything I could think of, any ideas?
