My Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Suddenly turned blacked while I was still using it and calling someone. I can still see the notification light telling me that i have a message and I can still my friends voice. But no matter what I do it doesn't work and the screen is still black, i tried removing the sim and sd card and restart it. I tried forced restart but still doesnt work. | Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:59 PM PST I don't know if there was an recent update in the last week or something, but nothing launches from widgets and 3rd part apps anymore. for example, when tapping my calendar or music player widget, nothing happens. I also have pie controls installed (floating shortcuts) and that is not working either. All of these opened to their respective connected apps earlier in the month. Anyone else having this issue? | Posted: 31 Dec 2019 05:53 PM PST This needs to be fixed. I have missed out on many many messages, texts, and app notifications, including ones for Reddit, due to the miui 11 update. Miui 9 was solid and needed no rework and you guys had to try and fix something that wasn't broken and FUBAR the phone I speaked so highly of. Honestly if this isn't immediately fix I will switch to a new company and never say a nice thing about Xiaomi again. This is a mass perportion Fu k up. I have missed way too many important messages. I have been frantically checking my phone to ensure I don't miss any and somehow I miss texts by whole hours. Stumble upon Kijiji messages and emails a week after they were sent because I never got the notification. I don't even think I got the sound from it either. Please fix this or allow me to know about my anti roll back so I can revert to miui 9 where the os isn't broken. I have mi max 2 [link] [comments]  | ||

| Mi 9 Lite screen suddenly turned black. Need help! Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:50 PM PST So I was playing a mobile game and then I attached the phone to a charger. After a few minutes, the screen suddenly turned black. There was no overheating issue at all, it was barely warm. I have tried hard rebooting, pressing volume down/up and power button together, but the screen is still black. It vibrates, though, and the led light flares when I press those buttons. Also, the scheduled alarm activate and the alarm sound activated. Was able to swipe up to turn off the alarm despite the screen being black. Does anybody have a solution to this? Make sure your balance is sufficient." I've already verified my phone number on the MI account website and I've checked my balance. | Redmi Note 8 Pro and Google Pay authentication Posted: 31 Dec 2019 01:15 PM PST Google Pay works but it does not require any kind of authentication when paying, which is scary since it does not even need you to unlock the phone so any person that can push the button on a phone can spend all the money on default credit card. In Google Pay settings, there are only 2 items - General and Notifications, not "Sending Money" that's supposed to be there (according to google, it should contain option to require fingerprint or something like that for payment). So I wonder, is it just me or a common problem? All the software is fully updated of course. I even added google PIN but it didn't help. [link] [comments]  | ||

Once when i put my finger on the scanner, and again when it unlocks. This does not happen when using face unlock. As soon as i picked up the phone it stopped. Now this morning while doing random stuff on the phone (not related to camera), then front camera went up and down quickly... Anyone have an idea why this would happen, and what can i do to check if i maybe have some malicious apps installed, or something.... | Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro vs Mi 9 Lite Posted: 31 Dec 2019 12:56 AM PST It's 31 December, and here I come with an end-of-the-year (and end-of-friendships) question: I need a new phone and, after some research, I understood that in the price range 200-250€ the best choice would be between the two phones in the title. The problem is (obviously) that I can't choose between them. I use my phone mostly to (in order of importance): - Spotify with my headphones - Watch Youtube videos, occasionally Netflix (sometimes with the phone's speakers) - Scroll my Facebook/Instagram homepage - In rare cases I might need to read and highlight Word/Power Point files I usually don't take photos and I most certainly won't be gaming. The two phones come almost for the same price (the 9 Lite costs a little more). I read they have a different processor: if you think it will affect the longevity of the phone (very important for me), please tell me. The battery may be better on the Note 8 Pro, but I don't know if the difference is noticeable. I also probably need to tell you that I work with my computer all day, so it's probably better a less "tiring" screen. When I go into the battery statistics, android system uses 35% of the battery. It seems high to me. Apparently the problem is known but I did not find a solution by searching.
