What is the best looking smartphone?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:13 AM PST

Not exclusive to only recent phones, anything all the way back to the dawn of the modern smartphone back in 2007 count. iPhones (and Windows Phones) count as well!

If I had to choose, I'd say a couple of nominees would be the Bright Red Nexus 5 and the Really Blue Pixel 1. They really pop, so to speak.

Anyone remember Keyboard 69? (Formerly known as "Nintype") I just wish there was an optimised, updated version of that keyboard implementation.

That made typing other-worldly and almost game-like. Best keyboard for me hands down, or rather, hands on screen. The WPM you got with a proper set up (this takes half a day) let you type words faster than you can even think them. RIP Keyboard 69, F.K.A Nintype.

    Authentication in Android 11

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:23 PM PST

Hey Guys, I thought about authentication in the current Android and I have an idea you might like:

I bet most of you give your phone to friends or your partner quite often. I also bet some of them have a fingerprint/face registered or know your passcode.

There should be the option to have a hierarchy: Your finger can unlock the phone, authenticate payments, sign you into apps, etc. But your fiends finger can only unlock the phone.

This "security clearance" can be assigned to each finger/face in the settings.

Other features could then be added like:

    • only allow to open certain apps if signed in with an "admin" finger.

    • prevent apps from being deleted/rearranged if the phone was last unlocked with a low security clearance.

    • track who unlocked your phone

Link to the feature request (please only star it, don't comment, as everyone who starred will get an annoying email and might unstar):
