Why does these lights turn red when booting up? I'm using SATA SSD and my boot time is roughly 30-45 seconds. Are these lights' indications slow down my boot time or is it normal? if not what should I do? Tech Support

Hard drive makes USB ports stop working

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:31 PM PST

    Hey,

I have this 2TB Seagate expansion+ drive. It is fairly new, maximal 1 year and it always did a great job, but recently I had some trouble using it. These problems first emerged, when my PC became unresponsive after some hours of usage, I just thought my computer would be getting old, but since 2-3 days there is a way bigger problem: Whenever I connect my hard drive to my PC one of these situations happens:

    1. Nothing happens and the hard drive doesn't show up in the explorer or
    2. All my external devices get instantly disconnected. Not only USB devices (Mouse/Keyboard) but also my Bluetooth headphones and they will only reconnect if I unplug the hard drive or
    3. The hard drive actually shows up in the explorer, my external devices stay connected, but I can't access it. It just says something like could not access G:\

I also tried to use an Ubuntu Laptop, but that either doesn't recognise the device or the explorer stops working if I try to access it.

I would prefer if I could keep my data, but the data is not worth enough to send it to some kind of data recovery company.

I am using Windows 10 Home 1903 and the drive should be filled with about 1TB of various file types.
