| Running Microsoft Store Apps from Previous Installation Posted: 15 Dec 2019 01:02 PM PST I recently upgraded the M.2 drive in my computer and did a fresh installation. However, I had an external 2TB WD Passport Hard Drive, with a lot of Windows Store Games (Game Pass Beta games mostly). The Microsoft Store did not recognize these apps. If I try to move apps to that drive (tried to make it recognize there were programs on that drive) and it said that there were apps from another device. I then canceled moving the program (so it wouldn't erase the "programs from another device"), and I'm essentially wondering: How do I run Microsoft Store apps on another device than the one they were installed with? With my internet speed, it would take around 3 days to reinstall everything. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Windows Store Download and Update Page Infinite Loop Posted: 15 Dec 2019 01:14 PM PST I have Xbox gamespass and cannot open one of the games, the Outer Worlds though it is downloaded and I have run it before. For some reason it stopped working, not only this but when I go to see the downloads and updates page on the windows store it is stuck on an infinite load screen. I can load other games like Gears of War fine but not the Outer Worlds and what's worse is I can't see any of my downloads because the page won't load. [link] [comments]  | ||

I don't want to scale page to %150 Chrome, i just want to zoom in to where my mouse is. I love how it works on MacOS. You zoom in, read what you want and zoom back without worlds breaking apart. | How to install Windows 10 education on a new PC Posted: 15 Dec 2019 06:51 AM PST So the parts for my new PC will arrive in less than a week and my University provides a free Windows 10 education key. When I go to the azure dev tools website and I sign in with my 365 office account on a different pc, it allows me to see my product key and download windows. From what I've read online, this downloads an iso file on the current PC, but I can't find any information on how to take this file and install Windows 10 education on a new PC. I know that with a home or pro key you use the media creation tool but I've read you can't do that with the education version. Can anyone explain how to install it with a USB drive on a new PC? | Posted: 15 Dec 2019 12:06 PM PST Hi! Im in need of advice. Ive got a band new laptop with just a couple months of use. Yesterday I felt it was hotter than normal without the ouse of any intensive program, and tho its summer in my country, it was not THAT hot. Wen I went to turn it off "task host" appeared (twice) as impeding the shutting off. I forced the shutdown as i had no time to deal with that. Now as im writing this, with the laptop just turned on and the fan louder than normal I tried to reset the system and again I saw the "task host" x2 problem appear. What should I do? | Posted: 15 Dec 2019 12:05 PM PST I need to disable OneDrive on my new laptop. If I remember correctly, I disabled it a month ago but I still have files saved in the OneDrive folder. I want to get rid of it altogether. I don't want it appearing anywhere and in no way do I want files to be saved there automatically from games etc. (C:/users/xxx/OneDrive/Documents for example). How do I move all the files out of OneDrive and afterwards get rid of the folder, or at least stop anything from getting saved there? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||
| HELP ME OUT in Recovering ".INP" files! Posted: 15 Dec 2019 03:58 AM PST My hard drive was dying so I backed up all my data to an external hard drive using Dell Backup and Recovery, all of them are of ".inp" files. I had a software which would recovery them, the software was called "migration restore utility" but I can't download it right now because the website appears to be dead. Can someone please be kind enough to give me that software I want so I can restore all my files which includes personal photos, videos and some other data like music etc. Please help me out I am terrified. | Windows 10 adding new keyboard layouts and switching to them randomly. Posted: 15 Dec 2019 02:24 AM PST I use a US layout Corsair K55 and it keeps adding new keyboard layouts like the US-International one which is really annoying since it delays the input of single / double quotes and the grave key. Oh and also I get new (?) variations of the US layout but for different countries. I use the English (UK) US layout keyboard but it just added the English (US) and the one where I'm from. How do I remove this annoying "feature"? I vividly remember spending 30 minutes of my life trying to delete the new layouts once, following guides on StackOverflow because it was removed from Control Panel and put into some obscure menu behind 50 clicks in Settings. Really considering switching back to Linux and just dealing with Wine for games as of right now... One simple line changed in /etc/vconsole.conf would fix all my problems in Arch. To be specific, I am looking to cast a podcast from Podcast Addict since I noticed it could cast to my new Chromecast. I understand this is usually managed on an app-to-app basis since basic casting functionality is part of android and not Windows, but I still suppose there might be 3rd party apps out there which could emulate this? To be specific, I am not looking to stream the content from my phone (i.e. screen or audio mirroring), instead, I am looking for something where Windows is streaming the content, but the progress is taken into account on my phone. On my desktop PC I just want a quick way to change the brightness (I often want to dim them at various times throughout the day) I cannot change the brightness without using the controls on my monitors (which is a hassle as brightness is in a menu within a menu with those "touch" buttons.
