Posted: 13 Dec 2019 09:52 AM PST A friend's Mi A2 Lite's fingerprint sensor allows him to open and close the notifications shade (and then quick settings) by swiping his finger up and down on the fingerprint sensor. | Posted: 13 Dec 2019 12:17 PM PST Help! As of this morning the pattern lock on my phone isn't working. I can still access my phone by using the fingerprint sensor. I have tried changing or removing the lock screen but after entering my pattern to access these settings it tells me that the Lock screen settings app has stopped. I have tried stopping that app and clearing the cache, but that doesn't fix anything. I would try restarting my phone, but I am afraid I wouldn't be able to access anything if I can't use a fingerprint on first unlock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:23 PM PST The problem is, when I go to assistant settings, the only option I get is that the assistant can respond when my screen is ON. Now I searched numerous forums and it seems like some phones have different settings regarding this, for example a Samsung S9 has an option to activate the assistant with "ok google" even when the screen is turned off. | YouTube App not working on my smart TV Posted: 13 Dec 2019 08:41 AM PST I have a JVC Smart TV, with an Android operating system. It has a YouTube app that has been getting progressively more and more problematic over time. As of yesterday, it is not workin at all. I have tried clearing the cache. I have tried clearing the data. I have even tried a factory reset. Nothing is working. It simply tells me "That action isn't allowed." This is incredibly frustrating. Everything else seems to be working fine, just the YouTube app. I can't even update it. If anyone can tell me how to fix this problem, I'd be extremely grateful, because I'm fresh out of ideas. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:50 PM PST I have a galaxy s9+ and everytime I have a system update, the optimizing apps screen always shows that I have way more apps than I do, could it be hidden malware or am I just trippin. It's showing that I have over 200 more apps than the ones I have installed intentionally and the samsung/google apps that come installed. Im on Spectrum mobile. [link] [comments]  |

But I think I figured out what is causing it to happen(watching a video) which means now I cannot watch twitch or YouTube without it happening. I am not sure what is causing it. | Posted: 13 Dec 2019 08:31 AM PST I have a Kyocera Hydro Life. It's pretty old admittedly as I've had it since 2015. I had it on the charger and when I went to unplug it, I saw it was on an all black screen with a message that read: Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support. Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost. I've looked online and others who have had this problem said calling MetroPCS got them nowhere. Also, money is kind of tight right now so the "additional cost" worries me. I don't have an SD card in the phone because I only use it to call and occasionally browse the internet since the battery seems to die quickly. The only apps I have installed are Lyft and a game called Muscle Hustle, so I don't know what the unauthorized software could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |
| Questions from a iOS user not seeking a flame war Posted: 13 Dec 2019 06:00 PM PST Hi as A life long iOS user I had a few questions about the android running system and thought this is the best place to ask I am not looking for a fight I think both systems have there ups and downs and would like to clarify some things I have heard about androids and In return I will answer any questions you have about iOS 1 Is it true that android is more prone to malware 2 what is the standard life span of a android 3 does android have anything similar to apple care+ (basically insurance you opt into that will cover pretty much anything that happens to that device) 4 what's one thing you like about android devices I like to here good things about the other side 5 has anyone tried iOS here and what's one thing you disliked 6 I would like to formally apologise for some of the crazy iOS users as I think you guys get a bit of a unprovoked trouble for your preferred technology 7 I have tried android before as I did find a galaxy note edge and got it up and running and I think it's a nice phone I mainly use it for drawing as my iPad is not compatible with the Apple Pencil I want some level of peace between the 2 sides I think that one day maybe we can put our differences aside and maybe make a even better running system that is the best of both sides and the fighting will end Feel free to ask me anything about iOS and there technologies as it's only fair I return the favour thank you for your time and knowledge [link] [comments]  |
| Group messages not working correctly. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 05:36 PM PST I've had an issue with my group messages for a while now and can't figure out the issue. I can receive the group message, but I can only see messages from the OP, I can't see anyone elses replies. If I try to reply it sends a seperate message to everyone, not group.

| Which of these Android phones should I get? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:44 PM PST So, I'm really out of the loop on new phones that have released in the past 2-3 years. I currently have a Galaxy S7, and it's reaching its end. It's definitely not the oldest phone, but the battery is terrible now, and it has started to be extremely sluggish, even when doing common tasks like browse Google Chrome. I'm looking for an android phone around the $300-$400 range. The biggest problem is that it has to be compatible with Verizon. I've seen all these awesome phones from Xiaomi, Oppo, Asus, etc, but I don't think any of them are compatible. So, I've been looking at a few different phones that should work: LG G8, LG V50, Razer Phone 2, Galaxy s10e, Galaxy S9+, and the OnePlus 6t. Like I said, I'm completely out of the loop, so I don't know which is the best value out of these options right now, or if there's an even better option that I'm missing. I mainly use my phone for multimedia and gaming, but it needs to have stability for calls, texts, etc. I don't really care much about the camera; I won't use it very often. Thanks for the help!
