Warp Charge on the go would be convenience on a whole another level. I'm almost certain that a OnePlus Power bank with Warp Charge support will sell extremely well. But despite that, they haven't made one yet, is it because it's unsafe or very demanding for a powerbank?

EDIT: just checked, they did make one, 4 years ago, even before OnePlus 2 was released. It was a very basic 5V/2A power bank. It isn't even available for purchase anymore.

[Exclusive] OnePlus 8 Lite renders reveal a mid-range phone with punch-hole display, rectangular camera module

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:38 PM PST

Been using Google phones since the Nexus 6P, here are my thoughts moving from the Pixel 2XL to the OnePlus 7T.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:49 PM PST

After the Pixel 3 was a decided flop, I stuck it out for another year, hoping that the 4 would be an improvement. I watched the keynote and saw the price, and decided this would be the first time in a long time I wouldn't be buying a Google phone. But my 2XL was getting a bit long in the tooth, and I was ready for a change.

Enter T-Mobile's $200 off trade-in promo (/r/HailCorporate /s) for my 2XL in exchange for a shiny new 7T . Here are my honeymoon period thoughts, good and bad.

    The Good

    • Warp Charge is AMAZING. Like, actually jaw-droppingly stunning.
    • 90Hz is lovely. Not life changing or anything, but it's really nice.
    • The near-stock experience is excellent, and OxygenOS brings some welcome additions.
    • The under screen fingerprint sensor is awesome. Fast, accurate, and looks cool to boot. I thought I would miss my back sensor placement, but I really don't.
    • I love the functionality of the alert slider.
    • I'm getting used to the nav bar gestures, and overall think they're pretty intuitive and effective.

    The Bad

    • This haptic motor is BAD. Like, trash. I used to just leave my Pixel on vibrate mode all day long, hardly ever missed a thing. With the 7T, it will vibrate in my pocket for a text or email coming in and I won't feel it at all.
    • I really miss the dual front facing speakers. The 7T's chin speaker being bottom firing gives a weird imbalance to the sound compared to what I had with my 2XL.
    • Button placement is not amazing. The lock/power button being exactly lined up with the volume down button on the other side of the phone means I'm taking a lot of accidental screenshots.
    • Despite loving the alert slider for ease of changing audio modes, I wish I could turn on the silencing of alarms when in silent mode. The toggle is there, teasing me, in the options, but it's grayed out.
    • I miss my Pixel's always on display.
    • I cannot get "OK/Hey Google" to work. Both Google and OnePlus support have been useless. I'm hoping this can be fixed, though, and isn't a permanent issue with the phone itself.

I haven't used the camera enough to know if it's much of a step down or not, but it looks fine so far. Then again, I don't really pixel peep much.

Overall, I like this phone much MUCH more than I thought I would, and for the price, I couldn't be happier. Even if I hadn't gotten the $200 off, I would call this money well spent. OnePlus have an excellent product here. (Psst, mods, when do I get a 7T flair to show off?)

Can this be some sort or error? Please. This is the first time it happens. I don't know what to do. Messages and calls don't reach him

Edit: he's safe and sound. Thanks a lot! <3

    OOS 10.0.1 on OP6 review

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 01:47 AM PST

Updated with OOS updater and cleared the cache partition as well as app cache of apps I use frequently

    Positives

    • Noticably smoother
    • Dark notifications
    • Same battery life if not slightly better
    • Google Pay works
    • In-app finger print authentication works
    • Gmail is finally dark
    • I actually like the keyboard being positioned slightly higher

    Negatives

    Only minor nitpicks from me.

Bought my first OnePlus and already ran into two issues

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 05:26 AM PST

So I recently bought my first OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition and have already ran into two issues. First, whenever I'm connected to my Bluetooth speaker, the volume change bar appears out of nowhere, even when I didn't change the volume at all.

Second of all, my YouTube app occasionally just decides to hang. It won't let me scroll down. I have to then close it and reopen it for it to work.

Is anyone else facing this or is it just me?

    Waterfall display

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 07:23 PM PST

Hey everyone [: I am wondering if I should wait for the 8, or get the 7t. I've never tried a waterfall display and I know that a lot of people hate it. Do you hate it? Is it possible to get used to? Which phone would you get? The upcoming 8 with waterfall display, or the 7t with flat display? I am not interested in any other version of a Oneplus. Please let me know what's your take on waterfall displays [: Thanks!

Got my 1+7TP 5G ME today and have really enjoyed it. I haven't seen anyone else mention this but swiping left on the home screen gives you the Google app like Pixel phones instead of the OnePlus Toolbox on my 7 Pro

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 04:37 PM PST

It was a pleasant surprise. Usually carrier variants add features I don't like but I was happy to find this.

I have noticed a few quirks like getting really hot and draining 55% of the battery in an hour when it got hung up downloading an app from the app store when I lost service.

Overall though I'm stoked to have it. I work at UPS so I got it two days earlier than I was supposed to 😎

I have had some service since I got home though so now I'm debating whether or not I should keep it. I still think it might be worth it to buy outright and use it on Visible without 5G for a lot less money.

    OP2 died today

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 04:27 AM PST

    Hi,

Yesterday my mobile was working perfectly, I was charging it (100% it was charging or at least battery % was increasing). After using it I went to sleep (and let it charge) but not knowing that today my mobile wouldn't work. I've woken up past the alarm, and I was like WTF. The last days the mobile gave me some minor problems such as having to enter the SIM pin after waking up but was not a big deal the rest was working perfectly. But when I looked at the screen I saw something estrange there was the logo of OP. After trying to bot normally and see that mobile was not reacting I choose to press power button for 10 sec in order to shut it down and boot it again. The mobile shutted down but its not powering on again. There is no red dot of charging when connected to the charger and pressing the button + or - and the power on or the power on for 10-30 seconds or more does not work.

The ideal thing would be to resurrect the mobile but I see it really fucked, I would like to recovery my data even if my mobile does not revive so any tips on how to revive it or recovery data would be appreciated.

I've tried to connect it to PC with 0 success. Also, I removed the battery connector after opening it plug it to the charger and try to bot with 0 successes.

    Thanks for your time.

One plus 7t pro McLaren edition screen protector

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 04:58 PM PST

I'm like 99 percent sure that a screen protector for the 7 pro would fit the exact same. That being said I'm looking for recommendations and if I'm wrong about the fit of a screen protector let me know.

System files on my brand new Oneplus 7T HD1900 take up 29GB. What's going on here?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 04:47 PM PST

Needless to say, that doesn't seem normal. Just in case it's of note, it's a Chinese import 7T, 256GB capacity, Oxygen OS pre-installed (which is kinda weird). Any chance the importers I got it from installed some janky version of the OS? What's going on here, and what are my solutions? I'm not very techie, but I can follow instructions, and this is my first experience with Android, so dumb it down for me.

Anyone else waiting for an Oxygen OS update on the 7 Pro?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 07:50 AM PST

Hi, I just bought a OnePlus 7 Pro from OnePlus a couple of weeks ago. So far I love this phone.

However, when I check for updates it says my OS is up to date but I have Oxygen OS 9.5. I thought I read that all the 7 devices should be in Oxygen OS 10 now? Anyone know when to expect an update or how to get it to push out? Anyone else in the same boat?

Facebook didn't work right on my 6t and it doesn't work right on my new 7t.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 06:09 PM PST

On the 6t notifications wouldn't function.

On the 7t some comments don't fully load.

    Anyone else have this issue?

So, I cancelled my OP 7Pro order....

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 05:43 PM PST

I ordered a OP 7Pro on November 28th and cancelled the order on Dec. 6th. It still said it hadn't dispatched yet when I canceled it. Will I get a full refund or not? I can't find an answer either way on OnePlus.com.

OP3 sends DNS queries to google ad services 24/7

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 01:47 AM PST

I have OnePlus 3 as a "home phone" which I sometimes use to browse web or as a test phone for my Android apps. It's only connected to my WiFi. Recently I set up a pi-hole and noticed that my OP3 sends DNS requests to google ad services (www.googleadservices.com and googleads.g.doubleclick.net) dozens of times every hour 24/7.

Here is photo of my pi-hole logs: https://imgur.com/a/JK67k8p

I'm not sure what the phone is actually trying to send to google, but this made me feel sick.

EDIT: It was an app querying in the background. I feel like an idiot.

    Emergency Idea.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 03:43 PM PST

I was thinking what if we were able to draw 9-1-1 on the screen to automatically call the police rather than having to turn on the screen and click the phone button to do so. Would this be a good idea? I'm wondering what possible things could go wrong with this besides accidentally writing the numbers.

I just got my op7, I like it but have a few questions.

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:54 PM PST

Hey guys, I upgraded from an s7edge to my op7.

But I have a few questions.

Is the huge blank space at the bottom of the phone normal when gesture navbar is activated?

When I got the phone it was still running on an earlier version, it had no such blank space.

It only got that when updated the phone.

I really dislike it, especially because one ereader (novelreader) cuts of it's text there!! Is there any way for me to disable this?

My final question is, I used Samsungs own app called "one hand operations" and loved it. Is there a way to run it on oneplus as well?

7 Pro Android Auto on Oxygen 10.0.2

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 02:35 PM PST

Anyone else have this issue? After the update and I set my phone to the dark tone in the customization settings since I like my phone in dark mode basically. I hook my phone up to my car and android auto seems to change it to the white tone. I have to manually go into my settings app to change it back to dark. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

I need a new case for my OnPlus 7

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 03:26 AM PST

So I've been using the OnePlus Sandstone case sind I got my 7 at launch.
I LOVE my Sandstone case, it feels awesome, is slim and nope, mine didn't fell apart.

But now it has died in the line of duty, protecting my phone taking a nasty fall from head height onto a solid marble-tile-whatever floor directly onto a corner, dissipating the energy of the impact by destroying itself. A phone case life well lived.

Before i simply buy another Sandstone, which I'd perfectly happy to do, I was wondering if there are similar slim cases out there that equally or better protect a OnePlus 7. The selection of cases is so vast right now, I just am totally overwhelmed.

Pretty sure I just bricked my OP6 with the Android10 update

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 07:12 AM PST

Updated using oxygen updater the way ive done for about 6 months and my phone restarted into a blank frozen home screen. I was able to pull down the notification tray if I do it quickly and it would get stuck there instead. I rebooted into safe mode and wiped all data because I'm an idiot who has no idea what hes doing and here we are. Anyone have any idea based on this info what might have happened? What I should do next time to avoid having to wipe my entire phone or do you think shit happens sometimes and with a big update like this some are bound to lose data and have issues? I just want to make this a learning experience
