Dualsim Android for work + private Posted: 12 Dec 2019 03:34 PM PST Hey, whats a good App or workaround to use a work Phone for Privat without violating privacy and data security from work space. Its a Samsung a70 we use. I found knox b, Samsung, but it cost money and i dont know yet if its worth. How is the dual sim working on this Phone? Standby or simultan? [link] [comments] |
How do apps like the Zomato app keep relaunching in the background even after being force stopped? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 09:54 PM PST I hate apps that show ads in the notification area. So I force stop such apps. But only the Zomato app manages to relaunch itself after every few minutes and starts showing ads again. How is this possible? Is there a way to permanently force stop this app without using any third party programs? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Dec 2019 12:11 PM PST I have downloaded every volume booster possible and it does not work. My phone is not rooted. Previously i had a Note 4X and everything worked like a clock but on my Note 7 it doesn't. I think it is software issue. [link] [comments] |
Block purchases from one app only? Addiction Posted: 12 Dec 2019 04:21 PM PST Hi, im spending too much on one app and i would like to disable that ever happening. I want to be able to make purchases on other apps i just want to stop this one app as i have an addiction. Block purchases or block the app ever being installed on my phone. I dont want parental controls. I need something irreversible as my addiction will turn off any block if its possible. Thank you [link] [comments] |
Can I have ringtone volume on vibrate but keep notification volume muted? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 02:56 PM PST I have a Samsung Galaxy S9. When I turn the ringtone volume down to vibrate, the notification volume is also automatically set to vibrate and I can't change it. But if I turn my ringtone up, I can have notification volume muted. Is there a way to have ringtone volume on vibrate while keeing notifications muted? It seems weird to not be able to have it set that way, when media and system can be muted while ringtone is set to vibrate but not notifications. [link] [comments] |
Why does my phone buzz a lot of the time when I put it away? It's driving me up the wall. Posted: 12 Dec 2019 12:38 PM PST It's a nokia 7.1 and every time I use it for a couple of minutes and start putting it away towards my pocket it buzzes. At first I thought it was the fingerprint sensor going off but I started steering clear of it pretty quick after it kept buzzing. Plus there's no failed fingerprint message. I can't make it happen on purpose either. I just tried to set off the fingerprint sensor by gripping it, and I have to make an effort to hold my finger real close to it to make it buzz. But other than then damn fingerprint sensor what could even cause this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Dec 2019 11:39 AM PST I'm pretty sure this is mainly due to the increase of white nav bars within many apps. The device is at least 2 years old now and it's not hugely noticeable but it will annoy me now I've seen it. Does this happen with most Android phones or is it a result of a poorer quality panel? Also I know switching to gesture navigation would remove the nav bar and prevent burn in but I can't stand the gesture navigation. [link] [comments] |
My phone got ran over today... and i had important things on there and can I retrieve them Posted: 12 Dec 2019 01:06 PM PST So today due to unfortunate events my phone (LG K7) got ran over, and when I retrieved it, its what you would expect and i'm really bummed out cause i had some important task notes on there and it wont even turn on or connect to a computer. So i'm wondering will any place be able to retrieve these types of things. Also idk if i'm posting on the right sub if anything point me in the direction on where to go with this. (this was written on a lil throwaway acc) [link] [comments] |
Dead(ish) Galaxy S6 Active upgrade Posted: 12 Dec 2019 02:02 PM PST Ok I've been searching since before Thanksgiving and keep coming back to the S10, but don't really want to spend 600+ on a phone. What are my alternatives to upgrade from my S6 Active. I'm trying to stay on an unlocked phone because I have no use for unlimited everything on a 50+ dollar a month plan. I use Cricket and would like to stay with that as it's a straight 35 dollars a month. Other options I've looked at are the S10e and the Pixel. I basically only really use the phone for making calls and testing. Anything is going to be an upgrade on the camera, and I don't exactly take tons of pictures so that's not a huge concern. I'm mostly just looking for a good phone I can get for a reasonable price. I'll spend more and just go with an S10 if I can get my hands on one for a reasonable price, but would prefer to just find something that I can actually use when it's not on the charger. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Download app in non-system language Posted: 12 Dec 2019 12:11 PM PST Hi, The routines for Google assistant appears only to work properly with the googles clock app in English. I would love to have the clock app wake me up with dim lights and freshly brewd coffee instead of setting up a ton of different apps before going to bed. I don't want to have the system language set to English tho - is there any work around for this? Let's say by getting just the clock app in an English version? (Probably a bit far fetched, I know!) Nexus 7 2012 alternative ROM experiences Posted: 12 Dec 2019 02:34 PM PST There have been an assortment of Nexus 7 posts here, but several on this topic are archived and closed for updates, so... I was given an ASUS Google Nexus 7 2012 model tablet. It was the first version, with an nVidia Tegra CPU, a 1280x800 screen, 1GB RAM, and 16GB storage, with Lollipop 5.1.1 installed. The person who gave it to me said "It's really slow. You'll want to downgrade the OS." I did a factory reset, rooted it, and started configuring. My primary use case is eBook viewer, using FBReader for Android as the viewer program. (FB got the nod because it handles most eBook formats native or via plugins. I prefer ePub, but if the volume is in another format, I can view it.) Usage is primarily offline, so other things are "in a pinch". Yes, it's really slow. Connecting to Google Play and getting app updates can be painful. It works well enough for what I use it for that the slowness is an annoyance, not a deal breaker, but I have been looking at alternatives. General opinion makes Lollipop the culprit, and something else would be an improvement. One alternative is a CyanogenMod build using KitKat. I have other devices using KitKat and can deal with it. Another uses a third party build of Marshmallow. I'd actually prefer that if it is also rooted, but performance comes first. I've also seen a third party build based on Nougat. I'm interested in feedback from people who have actually used any of these, about what your experience was and what you might do different if you were doing it now based on what you learned. And a couple of side questions: The Nexus 7 has Bluetooth. It can pair with my Motorola BT keyboard. When BT is enabled on the Nexus, and the keyboard is turned, on the Nexus detects it as a paired device. It does not use it as a keyboard, and apps that take keyboard entry from the KB on other devices seem unaware it's there. Is this a known Nexus 7 2012 quirk? The docs say it can connect to external storage via an OTG adapter plugged into the microUSB port. On other devices, I've plugged a USB hub in via OTG adapter, and successfully used a USB keyboard, USB mouse, and USB flash drives simultaneously. Has anyone tried this with the Nexus 7? (I am particularly interested in USB keyboard support. The rest is gravy.) Thanks in advance for any advice. [link] [comments] |
Most reliable phone you've had from a Android perspective? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 09:19 AM PST Hi All I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy S8, on the whole the phone has been fine but I have come across random glitches or bugs which have been frustrating, e.g. currently it disconnects from my cars bluetooth constantly so its not possible to play music properly, tested on a few other phones and they work fine so its not the car. My question, from your experience which manfacturers have the least buggy phones from a software perspective? to me the answer was Pixel as I was thinking if Google control the hardware AND software it should be fairly smooth and reliable but speaking to a mate of mine who owns one he's also run into issues (which of course could be a isolated case). Any concenus here? this will shape my next purchase decision in a couple of months :) [link] [comments] |
In search of wireless charging coil replacement. Posted: 12 Dec 2019 11:52 AM PST So, I need to replace the wireless charging module in a Xiaomi Mi 9. The problem is, I can't find a replacement for the coil. Can somebody help me find one? [link] [comments] |
App consumes large after installing Posted: 12 Dec 2019 08:41 PM PST Hi all installed an app that size was 22.7mb but it shows 55.7mb after installation on my device. How it took that much space? [link] [comments] |
Phone Reset but Still Needs Google Login? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 01:57 PM PST I sent my phone (Galaxy S8+) to my family across the country for someone else to use. I didn't have a chance to reset it before I shipped it, so they reset it using the buttons (since they didn't know the login info). However, when they went to the carrier to get data transferred, it reportedly still required my Google login. This seems very odd to me as it seems to indicate that either the phone's software wasn't actually wiped, or that there's kernel-level Google account integration. Obviously, I can send my Google login info and just rotate my password (and watch for the 2FA notification), but it seems like there ought to be a better solution. [link] [comments] |
Downloaded videos keep being removed from device. Posted: 12 Dec 2019 08:34 AM PST I mistakenly removed all my photos and videos to save space from my Photos app. I then when back to download all my mp4s and gifs. All of these keep getting removed from my device after a couple of days or weeks and i have to keep downloading them. Is there a reason why these keep getting removed? I have plenty of space left. Is there a way to set them to never be removed or is there a setting to stop this? [link] [comments] |

Carrier issues after coming out of beta Posted: 12 Dec 2019 03:57 PM PST About a month ago, I reverted my OnePlus 6T from A10 beta to A9 stable, and my service around my dorm room completely stopped working. I then updated it to A10 stable, and am still having issues. I contacted my carrier and they said to wait until I was home and they'll fix it, but I went home and came back and am still having problems. I went as far as getting a second SIM card from a different carrier which is having the same issue, they both start working after a certain distance away from the dorm. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? One carrier uses GSMA and the other is GSMT, and the GSMA worked up until I reverted back, so coverage isn't an issue. [link] [comments] |
