| HTC U11 (US/Sprint) updated to Android 9 yesterday, now charging is faulty Posted: 12 Dec 2019 07:23 AM PST Just got the Android 9 update. My girlfriend's identical phone also got the update. She seems to be doing ok, no issues, but mine has a really annoying charging issue. First, the version stats: Android Version 9. Android Security Patch Level: October 1, 2019. Software Version: 3.35.651.4. Symptoms: Plug in charging cable (either into regular USB, QuickCharge 2 or QuickCharge 3 charger) and the charging light doesn't come on and it doesn't charge or indicating charging (lightning bolt on battery, etc). Currently it's completely unplugged and the charging light is ON and I occasionally get a message saying "Unable to charge". Again, it's not plugged in at all. One recommendation was to plug it into a computer and toggle between "charge only" and "file transfer" to try to knock that setting back into line, since you can't seem to access that just in regular settings menus, only when plugged into a PC. That did let me select those options when plugged into a PC, but ultimately didn't fix the issue. Rebooting fixing it temporarily. The boot-down graphics play and as soon as the boot-up animations start, the orange charging light will come on. Although, at least one time, it didn't.. I had to restart it again. My phone charged fine before the update, the port doesn't appear to be damaged and I've used various cables and charging devices to verify that they aren't the issue. It appears to be related to the Android 9 update and some failure to properly select the charging mode. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]  |
