There is no sound, and I don't think its the google assistant since I don't get a response when I say "Hey google". All of my searches either come up with a "me too" thread or uninstall this app that I don't have. I thought my car was causing this issue but it does it on my wife's brand new car so I don't think that would be the issue. Does anyone know how I can track down what is initiating this Bluetooth call, or any ideas on how to fix this issue? [link] [comments]  |

| Is anyone else incredibly frustrated with the Gboard? Need help disabling features. Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:38 PM PST Okay, so I had disabled auto updates on my phone because they would just fail and complain that I was out of space. Finally got around to deleting a bunch of crap on there and then let google do all the updating it had been begging for. ANYWAY, terrible decision, this Gboard update is driving me bonkers. Is there anyway I can disable the "meme" or "gif" buttons? What are these buttons even called? I tried google searching for 'gboard remove gif button' but I'm not coming up with anything useful. Here's a screenshot of the buttons in question. https://i.imgur.com/VJ6QQd8.png I live in a fairly rural location so service isn't the best. Whenever I'm typing in a hurry and I go for an E, R, T, or Y, half the time my phone freezes up for several seconds while it awakens an ancient dragon from the depths of hell to excruciatingly, slowly load pictures of sloths. What. The. Fuck - Who wanted this feature? Screenshot of what happens when I accidentally press the "meme" (left one of the two circled) buttons. https://i.imgur.com/R4j4tk9.png The "gif" button is even freaking worse. Oh, let me just sit here for 5 seconds while the back button is seemly disabled so you can load a picture of Joey from Friends. https://i.imgur.com/fFeadaB.png The location of these buttons is terrible. They're adjacent to keys that I actually need to press, and I guess I'm not the best touch screen typist in the world, so it leads to lots of accidents. And that would be fine if I could just back out quickly, but loading these stupid images and .gifs seems to freeze my phone for several seconds. I can't stand it. Someone, anyone, please help me. Posted: 28 Dec 2019 04:00 PM PST So Google decided to blur album art on the lockscreen when listening to music, and they didn't add an option to undo this. Some PM must have had an aneurysm. How long does it last you for which type of usage ? I've seen multiple reviews from different people and it seems that either the battery doesn't last a day or you can easily take it to a day and a half even if according to them, they all have an everyday life type of usage. The only issue is the bloatware on it, is it hard to get the stock Android experience? Also will Android ever have something to compete with iMessage? | weather channel app persistent notification sounds off every time I open the app or changes temps Posted: 28 Dec 2019 06:44 PM PST i like having the weather channel app displayed in my notification bar, but every time it changes temps, the app sounds off my notification sound. if i put it into my other notification setting, it will disappear. I found out which setting it is, it is the ongoing notification one. If i turn it off, it just does update the temps, but if I leave it on, it keeps sound off my notification sounds. Ok, so I am new to all this flashing thing, but I see that what's happening with my XTouch Unix (not XTouch Unix Pro) phone is what you guys call a soft brick. It won't turn on, get into recovery mode, or even heat up while charging since July 2019. I considered it as good as a brick since that date. Yet a couple of weeks ago, something told me to connect it to the computer and see if it responds in anyway. I were surprised that it is still detectable by the computer but cannot access any files inside it. Not like the files matter since I had most of the stuff on the SD Card. All I want now is to bring the phone back to life. I tried to search for the phone's stock firmware but all I found is a single website with a password-protected paid file which I cannot quite give my trust to. I gave up on searching for the Stock firmware and thought of flashing the phone with something else instead. As I understood, flashing a phone's firmware is a process similar to installing a Linux OS over a Windows on a computer. So if I want to flash, for example, a popular custom ROM such as LineageOS on my phone, is that in anyway possible? Thanks in advance for any help offered. [link] [comments]  |

| Galaxy S6 Active won't turn on unless charging Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:44 PM PST I found my old Galaxy S6 Active(SM-G890A) but it wont turn on unless it is charging. But it only turns on to the booting up screen, it never gets passed that. I cannot even use the phone and once I take it off charge, it just turns off. I took it to the AT&T store once but they couldn't fix it. I don't want to factory reset it because I still want my old data back. I don't care if the phone works, I just want the data including the hidden files as well. Is there a way that I can retrieve EVERYTHING from the phone in this state? Yes, I have tried to go into recovery mode and safe mode. The only thing that works is the custom OS mode but that will likely remove all data. [link] [comments]  |

| Samsung Note 9 Black Screen, Possibly Due to Pressure Posted: 28 Dec 2019 04:45 PM PST Hello all, I love my Samsung Note 9, unfortunately as I was doing work underneath my house and snaking a drain, the phone was in my side pocket. While I was leaning on that side while snaking, I heard the phone restart while still in my pocket. Pulled it out and the screen was totally black. The phone appears to still be on, as sounds are coming from it when I press buttons. Tried a reset, but still got a black screen. I let it charge for 10 minutes, the red light indicating charging is on, but screen is still black. There are no cracks whatsoever and the phone was in a case.
