I got a Razer Blade 15 from Amazon Warehouse, the USB ports are damaged.. they’ve offered to partial refund and repair it free of charge, will they even be able to fix this?

Sorry, but I've seen this laptop on a photo and I don't remember what's the model...

Is the Legion by Nenovo Y545 a good gaming laptop?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:29 PM PST

Legion By Lenovo Y545 15.6" Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i7-9750H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6GB Graphics, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, 81Q6000QUS

I am looking for a gaming laptop. I have an HP Omen with the RTX 2080. It's the perfect desktop for me. But I need a laptop.

Is the Legion by Lenovo Y545 a good gaming laptop? Can I play Overwatch on it? How does it compare to an HP Omen laptop with a 2080 RTX? But it's Almost $1000 more?

Who makes a service-friendly gaming laptop?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:22 PM PST

Last night I was inside a Dell Inspiron 7577 and if you wanted to repaste the thing or give the heatsinks a thorough cleanup, you'd have to dismantle practically the entire machine to do so. I've been in some Thinkpads and an older Dell before that were easy to work on, just pull the bottom and you've got access to pretty much everything. That 7577 last night got me wondering, does anybody make a gaming laptop that's anywhere near as easy to maintain as something like a Thinkpad?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop that is good for work and ark. I will normally have it plugged in so battery isn't a huge issue for me. I was looking at the G7, MSI gs65 rtx2060, MSI gs65 gtx 1660ti, and the Lenovo y740 rtx 2060. I'm looking at the 15" for all of these and am not sure which one.

Feeling overwhelmed shopping for “gaming” laptop

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:55 AM PST

Hey guys. My budget is $1500 (usd) and i play World of Warcraft mostly with some light FPS and Diablo. I also watch a lot of tv on my laptop. I'm just really overwhelmed at the moment and 2nd guessing myself. The only requirement is say is I don't want anything that's not a 17 inch display.

The two I was currently looking at is the HP Omen 17 and the Lenovo Legion Y740.

I am not currently really up on what's the best processors and graphics cards at the moment.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Consensus on mSI laptops?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:43 AM PST

With so many varieties within the MSI brand, the question posed in the title might be difficult to answer. Naturally, the more expensive, high-end MSI laptops will not only perform better than their cheaper, low-end laptops but also they will be better built.

What I want to know is if there is a consensus among techies about MSI as a brand and if overall their products can be trusted.

I bought an MSI GL Series GL65 9SDK-034 today, and though its specs and price were pretty good for an entry-level gaming laptop, I did not conduct enough research on MSI itself. My brother owns an MSI laptop that is lower-tier than the one I listed, and he hasn't had any issues with his system, but I've read some other reviews about MSI products that made me slightly uneasy.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:28 AM PST

    Should i buy

    Dell inspiron 15 5590 i3 10th gen 10110u

    OR

    Asus core i5 8th gen

I'm a student, I need laptop for basic everyday use ex: browsing, watching videos and MS office etc.

Both the i3 10th gen laptop and i5 8th gen laptop costs same after including the taxes here in India.

This is my first time buying laptop, so I'm really confused which one should i buy.

any other laptop suggestions under Rs.45k($600) would be helpful.

PS. I'm a student and need laptop only for everyday use and multitasking only.

    Futureproof student/business laptop

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:31 AM PST

Hi. I've been looking around for a good laptop to buy for uni and after, and I found the Lenovo Ideapad S540 (i5-8265u, 12GB RAM, 512GB SSD) to be my best choice here in Hungary. I'd like to know if it would be futureproof enough for 5+ years, and if you have any other recommendations (under 850 USD, that's what it costs here).

    Thank

Edit: Forgot to mention it is the MX250 variant and I am a CS student.

I'm headed off to college next year and I'm looking to buy as laptop during black friday/ cyber monday. What's a reliable brand that you trust? I'm going to spend as little as I can but will still pay for quality and performance (I don't need a amazing laptop for class though). Also I'll be using it just for classwork as I have a PC that I will be bringing to my dorm. Thanks in advance!

    LG Gram 13 screen issue

Can you charge a Surface Laptop 2 while using an external display?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:25 AM PST

    Hello,

I was looking at the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 and it seems a really good laptop. However, I noticed that the mini displayport that is used to connect an external screen also works as a power supply.

Is there any dongle that can split this port into power and video out, so that it can be charged while using an external screen? The only thing I've found is that massive docking station from Microsoft that costs a fortune and weighs a ton...

    Thank you

Thoughts on Lenovo Yoga S730 / IdeaPad S730?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 06:32 AM PST

Hey, I am a norwegian student looking for a new PC this black week / black friday. I need it for mostly school work and watching netflix / youtube. A good battery life is a big plus, and a decent screen would be awesome. I have found this Lenovo Yoga S730 on sale (20% OFF) in a common norwegian store named Komplett. All the reviews seems to recommend the laptop, but what do you guys think?

    Thank you!

    Lenovo Yoga 730 pen

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:53 AM PST

    Hey!

I'm trying to figure out what pens are compatible with the Lenovo Yoga 730 aside from the Lenovo Active Pen 2. Just looking for a cheaper option. I do not need anything super high performing, I mostly just need it to sign electronic documents.

    Thanks!

Need to Replace my 2013 Macbook Pro

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:50 AM PST

My Macbook has been here for me the last few years, but it is starting to show its age. It's a 13" 2.4ghz intel core i5, 8bg ram which is not bad, but it's slow when I have a lot of tabs open and sometimes takes awhile to switch or open applications. I mainly use my computer for work which is a lot of internet browsing and using various low intensity apps. Every once in awhile I will photo or video edit, but that is not priority.

The most important thing for me is having a nice screen as I do a lot of movie watching on my computer, as such I would like to upgrade to a 15" as well. I don't think there is any reason I need a macbook and feel I would get a better value if I got a windows.

A lot of the sub $1000 seem to have similar specs to my current old computer, is this true? I think it might be worth it to spring for 16gb of ram to future proof my computer.

    Is this a good laptop?(cs2064st)

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:09 AM PST

I know very little about hardware. I was wondering if this HP Pavilion is a good laptop.

I would use it more for music software than anything really. I was wondering if this could also handle things like a 720p 1080p webcam.

Also, will this hardware still be good in the next 3-4 years?

    Thanks in advance.

Best laptop for college student? Narrowed it down to a few, looking for some opinions or new suggestions.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 08:53 AM PST

So I'm looking for a laptop for college, and I'd like to get one with all the deals that are going on/coming up. My price range is topped out at ~500-600

    Here's a couple that I've been looking at; https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-pavilion-x360-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-256gb-ssd-16gb-optane-hp-anodized-finish-in-warm-and-luminous-gold/6364560.p?skuId=6364560

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lenovo-Ideapad-330s-15-6-Laptop-AMD-Ryzen-5-2500U-Quad-Core-Processor-8GB-Memory-256GB-Storage-Windows-10-Platinum-Grey-81FB00HKUS/273186587

Are those pretty good deals for what they offer? Or are there some better deals out there? All it's going to be used for is research, Microsoft office apps, and multitasking.
