USB C charging cables that don't suck? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 11:41 AM PDT I cleaned out the port of my pixel. The charger that came with it works fine, but it's a little short. The new usb c cable falls out at the slightest wiggle. I can throw my phone on my bed with the stock cable and it'll stay in place. Why do some cables suck? Are there good brand USB C to USB C cables I can buy? [link] [comments] |
How to create a shortcut to Google Assistant's shopping list? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 07:35 PM PDT I know your can do it through a web browser, but I'm talking about the list within the Google app. The only way I know to get to it is to ask the assistant "What's on my shopping list," then click "View List" on the screen that comes up. I'd like to put a direct "View List" shortcut on the home screen. Android 9 if it matters. Screenshot [link] [comments] |

Is there any way to stop Google's autofill service from suggesting my phone numbers in messages? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 01:49 PM PDT Hi all! I own an OP6 and a Galaxy s9. On the Google messages app recently Ive noticed that everytime I begin to compose a message Google's autofill service tries to add my phone numbers. For some reason it is only happening on my OP6 and not my Galaxy s9. Is there a way I can delete my number as a suggestion or stop the app without completely disabling it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Oct 2019 08:44 PM PDT Anyone know where my Weather app is? The place is just empty and on my front page. If I install new app, it skips where it was supposed to be. How do I get it back? :O </3 Can't live without it. The weather apps on the app store all have ad, etc. [link] [comments] |
WhatsApp video call from PC/laptop Posted: 26 Oct 2019 08:32 PM PDT We can use WhatsApp web to chat from PC or laptop. But is there any way to use WhatsApp video call from PC / laptop? Are there any apps for this purpose, or should I use emulator? [link] [comments] |

How to access android with a broken screen? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 08:15 PM PDT I broke my android screen. Besides repairing it, is there some way I can stream the phone's output to my PC, or can I use an emulator to access my apps and messages on the phone? [link] [comments] |
"World Clock" not working properly Posted: 26 Oct 2019 01:16 PM PDT I live in Egypt, the time in London is two hours behind us, which means that if the hour here is 21:40 then it should be 19:40, for some reason, my phone thinks that we are only one hour apart and that the clock there is 20:40 now, my phone is set to Eastern European Standard Time, is there a fix to that problem? I have an A30 and I had this problem with my previous J6, I think it is a general Samsung/Android software problem. I am posting this here and not on Samsung's subreddit because they consider my karma to be too low. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Oct 2019 01:00 PM PDT Hi folks, I need a new phone and I'm deciding between the Asus Zenfone 6 (8GB RAM model) and OnePlus 7T. They're obviously quite similar in specs and price, so I made a list of the few things that might matter to me that differentiate them: 7T:
Zenfone 6:
Leaning towards the Zenfone for its bigger battery, but the lack of band 71 is making me hesitant. I'm in NYC and usually have pretty good coverage there on my current phone (no 71 either), but when I'm occasionally out in rural areas, coverage can suck. But I think battery life probably outweighs that. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
I have problems with my redmi note 4 Posted: 26 Oct 2019 03:05 PM PDT So, if I use the standard miui file explorer, and delete a file, it will not delete it. It will just not show it, like if it's in a recycle bin. Does anyone know how to fix this and actually delete the files? [link] [comments] |
No longer able to send or receive MMS. Posted: 26 Oct 2019 10:05 PM PDT I have an lgv30+ using a straight talk sim, ever since a few days ago I have been unable to send or receive any MMS. I've tried changing and resetting my APN, contacting support, soft resetting my device, but so far nothing is working. I was wondering if there was anything else I could do apart from a factory reset. [link] [comments] |
[Galaxy Tab S6/Android 9.0] Move time to the right on notification bar Posted: 26 Oct 2019 06:13 PM PDT Is it possible to have the time be on the right side at the top of the screen? It's currently on the left while battery and wifi etc are on the right and it's super annoying. I've looked through settings but didn't happen to see it. [link] [comments] |
My LG g8 has the spotify pause, and skip symbols burned into the screen. Any suggestions? (repost) Posted: 26 Oct 2019 04:00 PM PDT I use spotify on my way to work or anytime i'm in my car driving somewhere. Recently i've noticed the screen has the pause button and skip buttons etched into the screen. I like having spotify open, as i can simply swipe the screen and change the song. Any widget i have makes me look at the phone to be sure i poke the correct spot and i like not looking at my screen to change songs. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Google Messages not importing texts in individual text threads on Galaxy S9? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 06:09 PM PDT I have the Galaxy S9. I've been using the stock Samsung Messages app but wanted to switch over to Google Messages. However, when I set Google Messages as my default messenger, it doesn't import texts that I have sent to people in individual text threads (rather than through MMS). It obviously is showing up normally in the Samsung Messages app. Anyone know how to fix this or a workaround for it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:36 PM PDT Android 10, Pixel 3... My phone screen randomly turns off, regardless on what my screen timeout settings is. For example, I set it for two minutes, and before 2 minutes, the screen will turn off. I go back to the screen timeout settings, and all the timeout settings are unselected. My only solution is to use a quick tile setting "keep the screen awake", to keep my phone screen from turning off, until I turn the quick tile setting off. Anyone else having this problem? How long does an android phone last in terms of speed and reliablity? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 12:52 PM PDT Specifically deciding between the google pixel 2 xl and note 8. Im going to use this phone for everything from school and notes to gaming and watching videos. I would like it to last the next 2 years but I know its a strech with some android phones. What do you say? If the phonea most likely wont survive the next to years, I will just settle for an iphone 7 plus. :( [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Oct 2019 03:22 PM PDT Ok so i bought the new A10s, i had the A10 and wanted to upgrade but the problem is when i was using smart switch to set my new phone like the old one everything was going fine until it finished and i saw that it had problems isntalling some of the apps. Samsung Music, Samsung Video and SmartThings, were the apps that it said couldn't install when i pressed them to see what the problem was it opened them up on the play store and it said that my device was not compatible with those apps, i didn't understand why was that becvause the A10s is supposed to be an upgraded version of the A10 and those apps worked perfectly fine on my A10. i managed to download Samsung Music and Video from the galaxy store even tho it said on the play sotre that it wasn't compatible, the apps seem to be the same but the logo isn' the same so i'm a little confused, and i still don't know how to install smar things because i can't see it on the play store and when i use a direct link it says the same thing about not compatible and i can't find it on the galaxy store. Also i've been having this issue with the screen, when i pull down the notification tab the blacks and dark grays lighten up to the point where they look like light grays, i'm using dark mode, and it happens with the majority of the blacks and dark grays, spotify looks light gray and even the keyboard. happens some times and when it happens on the notification tab when you pull it up to use the phone normally ou can see for a split second the color going back to normal like if the brightness was automatically going up on purpose and then going down. I've already tried resetting the phone to it's default state, updating the software and checking multiple times stuff like that and it still won't let me download SmartThings. and for the screen i've checked mutiple times and i don't have adaptative brightness enabled. please help me [link] [comments] |

Can't remove suspicious pornhub apk Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:04 PM PDT In the screenshot, this suspicious pornhub apk suddenly appeared, I'm not sure where from. I tried deleting it but I get an error saying file not deleted. When I click on it, package installer returns an error saying that package can't be parsed. I tried downloading a few other file manager to delete it, but this apk was not seen in any of those file managers. It only shows up in the default built in files app. I've also installed malwarebyte and ran a full scan. It came back with a clean result. I'm not sure what to do now, restating the phone doesn't help and it doesn't disappear. Are there anything else I can try before I factory reset/format my phone. [link] [comments] |
