And in the notification shade it has the downloading animation like any app, but it never ends, unless I slide away the notification. However it returns a few hours later. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried googling and found nothing, this is very odd. I am on MIUI 10.3.3 if that matters [link] [comments]  |

I noticed that Google finally fixed the slow load of the menu and has made some welcome changes. One big issue remains imo - there are way too many apps that have some sharing option that I do not want to show up as an option. Sharedr let you pin apps so your top use share options were easily accessible. It really is ridiculous how many apps have a share option. I could uninstall the apps but I use them enough that it would not make sense [link] [comments]  |
| Oneplus 6 won't boot after flashing Magisk Posted: 03 Oct 2019 11:59 AM PDT I got my Oneplus 6 today, unlocked the bootloader and flashed the Blu Star version of TWRP, so far so good. But when I install magisk, my phone won't boot further then the "The boot loader is unlocked and software integrity cannot be guaranteed" screen. I can still get into recovery and bootloader, so I removed magisk with a uninstaller zip, and everything works again. Anyone know how to fix this? But greenify needs pro and xposed to hibernate system apps and I'm using pie with Magisk. So it's no use to me. I've tried installing edxposed but I had to delete it because it caused a bootloop on my phone. Since youtubevanced is a modified app can we install it as a user app so greenify can stop it when not in use? Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

| How to deal with losing a smartphone while traveling? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:31 AM PDT I travel a lot. I spend more days away than home. In the past two years I lost my mobile twice while travelling (the second time was yesterday), and broke one once. I need several mobile-only apps with me all the time. Whatsapp, authentication apps for my banks and my company. When I lose a smartphone while traveling I'm stuck. I'm cut out from all those services until I'm back home. What can I do to become resilient to losing my smartphone? I've been suggested to install an android emulator on my laptop. It works, but: 1. what if they mug me and take both backpack and phone? 2. having to turn on my laptop and the emulator just to get an authentication code or to use whatsapp is a pain. Particularly some chinese apps, been trying to learn how facial structure tracking work and some of the apps have either stopped working or playstore did something to it after i connected to the internet. When you touch the video the overlay to pause skip or back shows but disappears in a couple seconds. But starting today when I touch the video the overlays stays on top permanently and shows an X on the bottom right corner to exit the overlay. Is this a new update? Makes watching videos unwatchable. I am still allowed to change the shortcuts around in the icon settings and the slider and settings button works fine but the little drop down arrow in the right corner does nothing. For the past couple of weeks I've been noticing a problem where even if the phone is connected to wifi, it doesn't work. I have tested that the wifi is working on other devices so it's not a problem with the router. I have to restart my phone every time to get it to work and that too lasts for an arbitrary amount of time and then stops working... then I have to restart it again. The same happens with mobile data. Also yes I HAVE tried to put my phone on airplane mode and switch it off to refresh the network but it never works. I always have to completely restart the device. It gets really annoying especially since the phone is just 6 months old. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:29 AM PDT I tried rooting my phone (MotoG5) for the first time today and I followed this tutorial: https://www.cyberkey.in/how-to-root-moto-g5-plus/ However after I flashed it, I followed the next step to go to Recovery Mode and it told me "Start Up Failed" and it couldn't load the kernel. I know my phone still works because I accidentally hit start when was getting too hasty and it launched normally. When I flashed my phone it told me TWRP was corrupted but forums told me that was normal. My phone is currently re-flashed after I launched it normally by accident and still not going into recovery mode. Any help would be appreciated as I want having to set up my phone again to be worth it. [link] [comments]  |

I'm trying to edit a few audio policy .xml files to make the system and usb audio sample rate default to 44.1khz instead of resampling to 48khz (more on that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/73v3o6/this_is_how_you_change_the_sample_rate_to_441_khz/) but I am unable to get write permission to edit the files. I've tried MiXplorer and Root explorer but cannot mount r/w with either. I've verified they both have SU access. A quick note: 1) Disabled digital wellbeing (although it's been said this does nothing for battery anymore) 2) Have allowed a bunch of charge cycles and have recalibrated battery 3) Have tried safe mode 4) Have factory reset already None of the above seems to net me more the 2-2.5 hours of sot. Carrier services is sometimes a crazy battery culprit, but other times it isn't. Seems like the the "battery usage" percentage are all kinds of jacked up. For reference, I've not even open MyFitnessPal in the last 24 hours and it assigns 5% app usage to it? I'm thinking it's running in background but nope, the option to force stop it is greyed out and it's not in the runnig processes list. Honestly, while it's alive I love my pixel 3 but this is ridiculous. The phone needs 2+ charges a day now which is obviously awful.
