Windows 7 PC doesn't network after changing to static IP Tech Support |
- Windows 7 PC doesn't network after changing to static IP
- I tried to lower my pagefile from 60gb to 20 and now it wont boot(BSOD)
- Can't login to my mac by any means
- Keyboard backlight not working in Windows 10 Bootcamp
- A few days ago my pc wouldn't start so I had it sent to be fixed. The IT people said they would need to format most of what was on my computer but wouldn't explain what had happened. When I got it back however I noticed my windows license was revoked and I was using a non genuine copy of it.
- VERY weird problem - moving photo's from phone to laptop: end file is 16,6 TB, all photo's are the same size: 13.3GB.
- No Signal to Monitor - New Build *Please Help*
Windows 7 PC doesn't network after changing to static IP Posted: 09 Aug 2019 01:54 PM PDT I'm a security analyst at a large company. It is common for us to take old machines or insecure devices and move them to our DMZ. Generally we provide a static IP for the respective DMZ and the local support staff assists with the cut-over and port changes. Normally if there are issues it is because local support doesn't type something in correctly such as gateway or subnet mask. Right now I am involved with moving this particular Windows 7 machine over with a specific set of software that isn't supported by the vendor anymore. We have tried several times to move this machine over with no luck. We have tested the static IP settings on another machine and it works just fine. In the case of the machine I am moving over I have worked with our networks team to verify the ports are trunked and VLANed appropriately between our firewall and the machine in question. I have physically went to the machine to set the IP on the adapter myself. I have also done the following. (not in order) At the end of each try we move it back to the old port and set it to DHCP and everything works fine as before.

Can't login to my mac by any means Posted: 09 Aug 2019 08:15 AM PDT I came home and tried to open my late 2015 macbook pro retina which had been sleeping but cannot get past login page. The curser is present and the mouse is working but I cannot type my password in. I have tried every key, shut it down, restarted, holding command-ctrl-shift as it restarts, holding command-r which will supposedly reboot it. My keyboard is in good condition, all attached and working fine. Would really appreciate the help, thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Keyboard backlight not working in Windows 10 Bootcamp Posted: 08 Aug 2019 07:02 PM PDT Yesterday I installed Windows 10 Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro (13", 2019) but I immediately noticed that the backlight for my keyboard was not working. It works perfectly in macOS. There is no light at all and there is no way to adjust the light, when I press the button on the touch bar no input is registered and the f5 and f6 keys do not work either. I've researched how to fix this online but I've been met with mostly vague answers. The most promising answer that I have seen, which is from apple, is to re-install the Windows Support Software. However, this requires an external USB drive which I do not have. On top of that, this method seems daunting. I was wondering if there was any other way to fix this issue. If there are no other methods, is going to the apple store to fix this issue viable, or is it inadvisable because Windows 10 is something I personally installed? Also, is this issue deep enough to warrant me returning the device? I am still in the return period. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2019 11:09 PM PDT Did I somehow get scammed? If not why did I lose my original windows license. I'm not that good with computers so please forgive the generalisation of terms. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2019 09:56 PM PDT Exact steps:
I have no idea where it went wrong. I have no idea what to do further, I don't want to mess with anything at this moment. Does anyone even know? [link] [comments]
No Signal to Monitor - New Build *Please Help* Posted: 08 Aug 2019 06:40 PM PDT I'm at a complete loss. I've tried for over a week to figure out why my new gpu isn't displaying a signal. I've done a multitude of things none of which have worked. The PC turns on, boots and runs fine with an old gpu (GeForce GTX 570) Here's my build and what I've tried so far....
I think that's all... I believe the PCI port must be fine, GPU works fine in another computer. I have no IGPU so I'm flying blind when the new GPU is in so I can't trouble shoot that way. I'm just so disappointed I can't use my new GPU and don't know what else to do to solve this problem. I'm hoping someone can please help me figure this out, I'm stumped. Thank you in advance !!
