| 7pro surprisingly sturdy after attempted theft Posted: 12 Aug 2019 04:48 AM PDT I'm quite impressed with the sturdiness of the 7 pro. I had someone try and take my phone the other day out of my hands and despite two men holding onto the phone and twisting it the screen never cracked. I could feel the phone flex slightly as the quite heavy set guy tried to wrestle it out of my hands. Although I'm concerned there could be hidden damage underneath, hoping all is ok though. | OnePlus 7 Pro just died on me out of nowhere Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:37 PM PDT Nothing out of the ordinary, just sitting on the couch watching tv. Pick up my phone to check some messages and it's just dark. Try powering on; nothing. Try holding power; nothing. Try recover key combo; nothing. Battery was still WELL over 50% so it did not run out of battery. Any idea what I can do? Why did it just randomly die on me :| I've not done anything questionable with the phone. | Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:10 AM PDT As a Note 9 owner, I was psyched with the $600 trade in and the noted spec improves the Note 10 brought to the table, so like many, I ordered one, the Aurora Glow 256+. Other than the Note 9, I own the iPhone 10XS Max, OnePlus 7 Pro and the Pixel 2XL. Because Apple released iOS 13 beta 6 last week, I'd been using the iPhone to provide developer feedback as applicable. As the weekend arrived, Friday after work, I was relaxing and figured I'd update the apps on the 7 Pro and factory reset the Note 9, put it away to avoid damage. When I turned on that 7 Pro, I was immediately reminded how awesome that 90hz screen was and the smooth buttery experience of OxygenOS atop Android. That was all it took to realize, I can never buy another 60hz phone. Not that I'll buy it, but if the rumors are true, smart move Google, adding 90hz to the Pixel 4 line. As you 7 Pro owners in this community know, There is a no kidding difference/improvement having 90hz, it just makes using the device an all around joy. To finish, I've owned Notes since the 5 and the 10 is a solid offering that will sell well, but 90hz is a game changer. [link] [comments]  |

| Is there any way to disable the password required when powering on my device? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:02 AM PDT I'm not talking about the password on the lock screen, When my 3T has been powered completely off and I turn it on again or restart it, it requires my system password before it'll allow itself to be powered on. | Possible to use AT&T and Verizon SIM as active/active in 7 Pro? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 04:13 PM PDT I just purchased a 7 Pro to upgrade from my Pixel 2 XL. Popped my SIM in and all was great, then popped my work SIM in which is Verizon on a CDMA-less line. I have VoLTE on both lines as long as the data connection is set to the AT&T SIM. I can toggle the data portion to Verizon and only get VoLTE on Verizon and can no longer text or use VoLTE on AT&T. For now the quick toggle method works when I know I need to primarily use Verizon but I would like to be able to use both at the same time, with all data going over the VZ SIM. Thoughts? | Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:59 PM PDT So coming from a Note 9, I had it set so that you couldn't use the quick menu while the phone was locked, i.e. not being able to turn off data or location without first unlocking the phone. Now on my 7Pro I can do all those things while it is locked. I'm worried that if someone were to steal my phone (very unlikely but it can always happen) they'd be able to just turn data and location off and I'd be screwed. I've looked through the security settings on my phone and either I'm blind or there isn't an option for it. Does anyone have any solutions? [link] [comments]  |

I took off the screen cover and case, cleaned the screen where the sensor is but it still says it's in pocket mode every time I go to unlock the screen. Anyone else run into this problem? | Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:38 AM PDT Sorry if this is not the right place for this. I've googled what seems every corner of the internet, tech support threads with no replies, and even a very frustrating chat with a robot from customer support. So hopefully making a post here will get me answers. If anyone knows a better place for this, let me know and I will copy this elsewhere. I tried the pinned tech support thread but got no help so I'm going all in and making my own post since this issue is frustrating me so much. I got my phone this past winter. It is ONEPLUS A6013 with OxygenOS 9.0.13, from TMobile. As of a few months ago, my stock camera started crashing. I open it, it lags for a second, and crashes. Sometimes it freezes up and I have to force shut off the phone. From my searches, it seems like others have had this issue around a year ago, with no solutions. Because of the way snapchat sucks on android, this is affecting snapchat as well. (doesn't it take a picture of the camera app or something? i can't remember exactly). Sometimes crashes, but mostly huge lag so I can't take videos and it takes like 20 seconds to take a picture. Apps like tiktok or mercari that use the camera do not have these issues. Just snapchat and the stock camera. However snapchat is not the cause because the camera still crashes after uninstalling it and removing all my downloaded snaps. Even so, I use snapchat a lot. I can't go without it. Also, if i have other apps open and then I open snapchat or the camera, it restarts all the other apps. For example, if i switch back to reddit after checking a snap, it boots me back to the front page, and if i'm listening to a song it stops (not pauses, stops. I lose my place in the song) and boots me to the home page of the music app. Also, for a few minutes after using snap or camera my whole phone gets laggy trying to recover from what I just put it through. A little bit before these issues I downloaded a camera app "opencamera" because it had a few features that I like, and I've used it on old phones before as well with no issue. This camera app still works normally with no lag or crash. But uninstalling it does not solve the issue, unless there are hidden files from this third party camera that are interfering? Just a guess. It is the only correlation that comes to mind. I've tried: clearing camera cache, camera data, snaphchat cache, uninstall snapchat, uninstall opencamera, update system, restart phone (several times a day), removing large video files, clearing camera images folder. I'd rather not do a factory reset without 100% certainty it would work. Because other camera apps work, and only the stock camera app is behaving like this, I know it can't be a physical/hardware issue, or else every app with camera function would do this, right? I think something is causing the camera to lag and crash but I can't pinpoint it. Maybe some other app, or files that are bogging it down. Any help would be appreciated. I paid a lot for this phone and got it only half a year ago so I'm pretty disappointed right now. EDIT: After everyone's help I have tried updating camera and resetting it to factory camera version, and clearing system cache. After all this my phone is somehow even worse off. Now using snapchat causes the phone to freeze, and it took over a minute solid of holding buttons to get it to turn off. Looks like I'll have to try the factory reset. [link] [comments]  |
