Posted: 03 Aug 2019 06:50 PM PDT Basically, an app controlling some LEDs in my GPU turns on and sets the lights to rainbow at every start up. I have to manually use task manager to kill the process so I don't have the lights. Is there anyway for this to be done automatically at every start up, so I don't have to do it manually? Is activating Windows 10 with a legitimate Windows 7 product key possible? Posted: 03 Aug 2019 12:41 PM PDT So I recently built a new PC from scratch and installed Windows 10 Home (N) on it. I read on practically every forum and tech website that it is possible to activate Windows 10 using a legit Windows 7 product key, but when I do so, I get an error message (0xc004f050). Can someone confirm that this method still works and if so, what could be the problem? To add on that, I'm 100% sure it is a legitimate key. Does this activation method maybe not work for Windows 10 Home N? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Aug 2019 02:53 PM PDT Hi, I plan to dual boot Windows 10 and Windows 7 on the same hard drive. I will also be reinstalling Windows 10 to free up space on my 120 GB SSD to hold both Windows 7 and 10, I have heard that you should install the newest operating system last, should I do that? If so, how would I do it? Would I install Windows 7, then somehow reinstall Windows 10? I do not have a Windows 7 DVD, but I do have a Windows 10 DVD. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks. Posted: 03 Aug 2019 02:49 PM PDT Hello, I have a 24 inch 1080p monitor and I feel everything looks way to big on the screen. I want to set my Scaling DPI lower than 100 so my apps would take less space. I tried the registry method and it did not work. If any one has a solution for this it will be amazing. My laptop is stuck in a restart/blue screen loop, and the error messages blame "etd.sys" Posted: 03 Aug 2019 05:39 PM PDT My laptop is a Lenovo Z710 Ideapad running Windows 10. My laptop had some charging port issues that caused it to die while running a few times while I was trying to figure out the issue, and after repairing the charging port, it started having problems starting up. With unpredictable amounts of automatic repair, restarting, system restore and full Windows resets, I can get it to work, but nearly any time I restart it or shut it down, I get the blue screen again when trying to start up, and start the process all over again. I noticed that the error screens say "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" and indicate that the error was caused by "etd.sys". From what I've been able to find, this is a driver for the touchpad and keyboard. I found a guide saying to go to system configuration and disable the ELAN service, but that didn't fix it. I tried going to the Lenovo website and scanning my drivers, and it said everything's up to date, which seemed weird considering I completely reset my computer, so I downloaded the driver anyways and installed it again, but haven't restarted my computer yet to finish it, because I don't really expect it to work considering that disabling the service didn't, and there's no telling how much it will take to start it back up. Does anyone have any suggestions, or clarifying questions? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Aug 2019 01:50 PM PDT So my laptop has the blue menu and saying windows didn't load correctly I've done system restore, startup repair, go back to previous version any other solutions that may solve it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Aug 2019 08:41 AM PDT Hello everyone. So recently I decided to fire up my windows 98 tower on one of my old monitors. And I got a couple of issues. First, it stated that I cannot open windows explorer, open up files (completely), and much more without getting the error, "windows 98 this program has performed an illegal operation..." My question is how do I fix this, especially since I can't access the internet to download stuff. Secondly, I would be fine with using a USB stick and moving everything off of it. Unfortunately I can't do that because USB sticks aren't registered on this computer because of an invalid drive. How do I fix my problems! (additional info I have a PS2 mouse that is working and a USB keyboard that is working). [link] [comments]
Cant Reset For Some Reason (Windows) Posted: 03 Aug 2019 05:02 PM PDT So I have a Lenovo and I wanted to reset it because I have a lot of junk on it. Whenever i try to reset it, it goes until about 20-30% and then it just says "undoing changes" and takes me to a blue screen that says "cancelled reseting no changes were made." I have some things that I read online and they dont seem to be working any tips please? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Aug 2019 04:47 PM PDT Everyone knows about the famous Bliss image and I am saying that I always felt like I wanted to fly up to the sky and/or go to the top of that hill. That's how powerful that image was to me. Not to mention the music whenever I started up always made it better. Did anyone else feel this too? [link] [comments]

Switching to Windows from Mac - apps / settings Posted: 03 Aug 2019 10:19 AM PDT Hello everyone, As a long time Mac user (since 2007) I decided to switch my aging MacBook Pro to Razer Blade. Since the last time I used Windows it was Windows Vista Beta and a lot changed since then, I have a few questions about apps and settings.

Posted: 02 Aug 2019 10:46 PM PDT I'm fairly certain I should be worried about this, user account control (UAC) is a pretty key player in preventing things from installing shit on my computer. The only thing I've downloaded in the past month is express VPN, which I thought, and still think, is legitimate. This is worrying me though because this isn't a brick computer. Specs are ryzen 5 1600, evga 1080, 16gb ram, msi motherboard, 800w supply. I really doubt it was a hardware problem, however when the computer was rebooting I noticed the motherboards indicator light turn red, I had a problem with the PC a year ago and that light triggered but it was due to overclocking, that overclock has since been fixed and everything has been running smooth since then. The Pc rebooted as usual except when I checked windows defender it notified me UAC was disabled. Advice is appreciated [link] [comments] |
