- Have had my note 10+ since the 22nd. I've been having issues with battery drain, the culprit seems to be "android system". Its been off charge for 3.5 hrs and already down to 79% with only 50 min SOT. Android system already at 10%. I'm not sure what to do.

To do that I either need to change my wifi settings and set my IP to static, or I need to use a 3rd party app. My router doesn't allow me to change DNS settings unfortunately. Problem is whenever I change my IP settings and press "save", it goes back to DHCP immediately. What could be causing this? Also are there any alternative ways of changing my DNS settings? I recently got an LG Q7+, and when I take a screenshot I have to go to the notifications bar and click on the screenshot to edit it. I dont excactly remember when it started, but its been present through multiple updates. Problem: My Whatsapp gets killed when its in background and i dont receive messages until i launch the app. Sometimes happens with Gmail too. Ive read many threads about this problem from many sites, but none seems to have solution. Ive tried taking off ALL battery saving modes, allow all permissions for app, allow all notifications, allow data use... Everything i can think of. I cant pinpoint what is causing it, because there is days it might happen once, sometimes its happening all the time. Happens on 4g and Wifi. While charging and while on battery. There is no clear reason for it. Ive tried re-installing app after fully resetting and uninstalling them. One solution that comes to mind is Google Voice. Would I be able to make and receive calls and texts across devices with this? | Camera failed error message Samsung S7 Edge Posted: 29 Aug 2019 07:49 PM PDT A few days ago my camera stopped working entirely. When I try to use anything that requests the rear camera, it either crashes, or comes back with "Error: Camera failed". I tried every software issue listed in youtube videos and websites, eventually caving and wiping the phone, but to no avail. I tried an app that never requests the rear camera, only the front, however, and it worked normally. This hints to me at least, that it is an issue with the hardware. My gut tells me to open up the phone and replace the rear camera with a new one. Would this be the way to go? Would this be likely to fix my issue? I would just like to know that, before I go through with this, that I'm not being a complete idiot. Oh and the carrier is Telus Canada, if that matters. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
| ES File Explorer NOT showing up in Google Play Store!! Posted: 29 Aug 2019 03:21 AM PDT When I search it, only dodgy knockoffs results show up. It's not even in my Library! I had it on another Device, so it should be in my Library. But it's not even there in "all" my apps Even if 'twas not compatible with my new Device, it would still show in my Library but it's not. I don't have a lot of Apps in my Library cause i don't do a whole lot with Apps. Just a few Games and Preinstalled Apps. And also Facebook. So it being dropped off from the Bottom isn't the Case! | Reset app notification settings in Android Pie Posted: 29 Aug 2019 10:38 AM PDT I recently upgraded from an Axon 7 on Oreo to a Redmi Note 7 on Pie, restoring from the backup saved to my Google account. One of the things that restored were the app-specific notification settings -- sort of. There are some strange artifacts that suggest things didn't convert cleanly. For example: The Messages app had custom settings for my wife. But when I went to the Messages app, selected the conversation with my wife, and went to the notification settings, it created a new notification category for my wife (suggests to me that it didn't "recognize" the existing one), and now I have two. The Outlook notification settings are really goofy, with my Google account listed twice, and when I get an email on one account and tap the little settings cog on the notification, the category name that comes up is the name of one of the other accounts (suggests to me that it didn't match the account with the category correctly, when I had to re-set up my accounts in Outlook). I'm thinking a quick answer would be to reset Android's per-app notification settings, so that the "legacy" converted categories will get wiped out and apps can re-create the categories as they expect. But I can't find a way to do that. Is there a way to clear out and reset these settings (preferably without resetting everything else on the phone)? [link] [comments]  |

Using a weird Apple dongle, I was able to copy photos directly to my camera. While I know there's an app, using the cable was always faster and simpler. I'd like to do the same thing with my Samsung, and it's not working as expected. When I plug in the camera it shows as a storage device, but I don't see any way to import into Google Photos. For the longest time I carried an old Galaxy S3 on me because all my music was saved to it, but then I upgraded to an S5 (yep, still old). However, I was disappointed in a very unimportant issue, being the way the music player displays on the lock screen, because the S3 displayed the album art across the entirety of the screen and I enjoyed that. Is there any way to get the music player on the S5 to display the same way, or do I just have to keep what it has? Again, I know this is a stupid question and I'm sorry for asking. For this particular instance, I downloaded the playlist file from my old device (LG V20) over to my new device (pixel 3a) and the files are useless. It only kept one or two songs from each playlist that was copied over. So I decided to delete those playlist files from my phone entirely. Every other day, these playlist names pop up again (with no music in them). Also, when I create NEW playlists, they get deleted within a day and all I'm left with is the title of the playlist with no music in it. How do I fix this?
