My dad shut it off by pulling the plug and had me look at it. I turned it back on and sure enough, half the house filled with a smoke smell. I opened it and i saw spiders crawling over everything. | Posted: 30 Aug 2019 01:41 AM PDT Long story short i bought an rx 480 8gb second hand and need to stress test it for couple of hours to check if its working as intended The problem is that i dnt have a gaming computer on me and the only pc i got is an old z400 workstation which surprise surprise hp decided the mother need a different 24pin layout then the standard atx power supplies I have an evga 650w power supply with 3x8pin pcie connectors which should be plenty but the problem is wont run on my z400 workstation So im left with the solution of either using molex adapters to get 8pin natively for the rx 480 or run a 2power supply setup with the evga one running the gpu while the oem one runs the desktop Ps this will only be temporarely for few hours stress test to check if the card is working as im waiting for the rest of the parts of my build to arrive In ur opinion which setup should be safer as i dnt want to brick my newly acquired gpu? | Posted: 30 Aug 2019 03:51 AM PDT Hello everyone this start happening yesterday. My phone would just start resetting randomly and try to connect back to the internet but with no luck and get "no service" So I tried to update my phone via wifi but no luck because it needs cellular data. In the cellular data part it says "An update is required to use cellular data on this iphone. (catch22?) So I try to do it by iTunes and it goes through the backing update and all that jazz and at the end it says "Your iPhone cannot make and receive calls or access cellular data until it has been updated." I even did reset network settings with no luck at all. I tried taking sim card out while turned off too but no luck! It also keeps going back and forth with connecting to itunes but its not the cable because it works fine charging when I plug it in! I am with verizon thank you guys! Edit: Now It says my iphone is updated to the latest version on both my iphone and itunes but still gving me an error for cellular data. [link] [comments]  |

I also do some light streaming on weekends. Is 8gb ram enough or is 16 needed to do these things smoothly? The games i play are csgo, overwatch, minecraft, and battlefield 1. | Posted: 29 Aug 2019 09:47 PM PDT So I was playing a game of League, when suddenly, my screen freezes and nothing responds. All I could do was to manually shut it down. I re open my computer. everything seems to be normal. I'm just chilling youtube, hearthstone, facebook. After a while, it suddenly froze again (same case as earlier). About an hour passed since the 2 times it froze. Again, I manually shut it down. When I try to reopen the computer, nothing on the monitor shows up even tho there are lights that clearly shows my computer is on. I thought it was a monitor problem, but I tried to connect, reconnect, use a different cable: nothing works, and it doesn't seem to be the problem. So I shut it down, take a nap, about 2-3 hours later, and I open it to see if it works again, and it does. But as I was playing League, I noticed my fps was very low (45-20). I tried to close everything on task manager that used some CPU or memory, and it was only slightly better (60-30 fps). Everything now seems slow and laggy: I can see low fps while playing hearthstone, can't handle as much tabs as it used to and slight delay on loading pages, clicks aren't responsive as before etc. I thought it may be a graphics card problem, but I feel it's much likely to be my CPU slowing down. | Power button lights up for a second but PC doesn't turn on. Posted: 30 Aug 2019 05:03 AM PDT There is constant power supply as evident by the RGB on my motherboard. Pressing the power button momentarily lights up the LED on the case's power button, but then the PC refuses to switch on. Fans don't start spinning; they don't even begin to attempt to spin whereas in a normal startup they'd start immediately.
GPU was overclocked using MSI afterburner, weeks before this error. I was also safely using XMP/3200. This started after I'd left my PC idle for 2 hours in which it enters hibernation, instead having entered a shut down. I've attempted to flush the CMOS several times. I don't have a jumper pin cap so instead I used a flat screwdriver and paperclip on separate occasions. I've also opened up my rig and made sure everything was properly connected. Any other suggestions what could be causing this or how I may go about this? [link] [comments]  |

Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's loud. It can happen twice in a minute, and sometimes, not at all. The noise doesn't happen when below 100%. Never. Is this an HDD issue, or a PSU/electrical issue? I've ran checks for the HDD, and all have come back clean. All help appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

I can see mine, I can see the notifications, but not what the other person sent me. It either shows me the loading screen or only my messages. I recently found out that I also cannot delete my messages, as it says there is a network fail. So it's probably my phone. | Posted: 30 Aug 2019 04:24 AM PDT Just bought a 5700 Pulse as an upgrade from a 570. Ive installed it physically and Windows loaded up fine. Then the screen went black and now my monitor won't recognise my computer. I can get to the log in page but never past it. I've tried using the hdmi slot on my motherboard but it won't show anything with that. I have no idea what to do. The card is in firmly it has the recommended amount of power and my computer is on and running. I just can't get the display to work too. I'm just completely stumped. [link] [comments]  |
| Windows won’t boot even in safe mode Posted: 30 Aug 2019 04:22 AM PDT Hey, So my 3 year old Asus Zenbook ux501v started BSODing 2 days ago. It had multiple different messages such as System service exception etc but it was a different one each time. So I booted in Safe mode which worked for about 10 minutes before another BSOD. Now when I start my pc it tries and fails to auto repair and takes me to the blue auto repair page where I have tried to restart in start up settings such as safe mode but even that won't work, it simply restarts and freezes on the initial Asus screen . I can't reset the computer with my files as apparently there isn't enough space on my c:drive. And of course I never backed up so I can't restore to an earlier date. I am thinking it must be a hardware issue but wouldn't know where to start. Before the BSODs started I hadn't downloaded any new programs or done anything out of the ordinary. Although I was using Lightroom and had sat the pc on the sofa whilst exporting which always heats the laptop up a lot so I'm wondering it something burnt out. I will probably open her up and pull out the cDrive and use it as an external to make space and download my files before factory resetting. But any suggestions on what to look for when opening it up or prior to then would be very helpful. [link] [comments]  |
