Posted: 01 Jul 2019 01:12 AM PDT As the title suggests I fucked up. So this happened just now. There were some problems with the VLC media player codec as it was not able to run some of my 'menage-e-moi' session videos. Being a dumbass I said why not use the default Windows 8.1 Video app which has it's own UI and screen. I added the porn folder under 'Personal Videos' and now I am not able to see any way to remove it. I have searched the internet, I have searched everywhere. I even changed the folder path so that the Video apps can no longer find and link to it but for some reason it still shows the complete 106 videos without any lag. This is the Video app I am talking about. One that comes with the Win 8.1 bloatware. Please note that this image contains some explicit content. Viewer discretion is advised. Please don't judge me. How do I delete the folder? Do I need to log out and log in again to my microsoft account? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Will a WI FI booster solve my problem? Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:48 AM PDT Classic set up, router downstairs whilst my computer and other consoles are upstairs in my room. The connection is USUALLY perfect, I can watch some videos on youtube/netflix and have very good ping in games such as csgo. However, there are a lot more days where the internet gets so bad, that when im alone in the house, i cant watch a video and play csgo, because i get 300+ ping in it, so my question is if i place a wi fi booster upstairs, will it just extend the range, or strengthen it enough to become playable again? Btw my computer is connected via a wifi adapter and not ethernet. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Trouble uninstalling ExpressVPN Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:39 AM PDT Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me please. A while ago I trialled ExpressVPN for a few days but at the end decided to go with Nordvpn. I then proceeded to uninstall ExpressVPN through the "uninstall a program" option in Windows 10 but the uninstall process stops half way and kind of freezes and for the life of me, I haven't Benn able to find another option to remove it. If it helps, when I tried to install ExpressVPN at the beginning, I had to disable Avira as it was "finding" something not right. I know I sound like a noob. Anyway, I would appreciate any help with this. Many thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:28 AM PDT I'm at work and a coworker formated my SD card. I tried recovery and it worked but it recovered 80.000 pictures with no way to short them by date. Is there a ptogramm that allows you to do that? Please help. [link] [comments] |
I want to set up a home FTP server, is raspberry pi powerful enough? Posted: 30 Jun 2019 11:36 PM PDT my computers in my home network are linux and MacOS, no Windows(not if that makes it easier) i have a couple questions: 1) i have old computers with like 8-year-old CPU + 8gig ram, but is it more power efficient to run the ftp server with raspberry pi? i''m using 7200rpm external HDD so i don't really care about the gigabit speed for now. is there a lot of transfer speed difference between using a computer vs a pi? 2) by default, the server wouldn't be exposed to the internet right? thanks! How to get rid of all data from an old phone? Posted: 30 Jun 2019 10:09 PM PDT Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, if not, then I'm sorry! I have an old Samsung Galaxy S6 that I dropped on the floor and the screen slowly tinted black and stopped working completely. Everything else still works. I can't restore factory data and erase everything because my screen doesn't work. I don't want to throw it away in case someone finds it and repairs it only to find all my personal info on it. Is there any way to delete the data? Even if it means tearing the phone apart to remove things! [link] [comments] |

I tried a few cmd promp fixes but it didnt do anything. Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:49 AM PDT Pic: I recently bought a 2TB HDD and made 3 partitions(F,G,M). I wanted to move my screenshot folder from one of my old HDDs (E) to my G partition. The only way i remembered i could move a screenshot folder is from the folders properties setting. When i was going to select the new folder location i thought i would make a new folder under the location i selected. I selected the G partition and now the screenshot folder is the G partition. Now i cant change the screenshot folders location anymore. I formatted and deleted the partition to see if it made a new folder. Then my screenshots didn't save anywhere. Then i made a partition called G again and then the screenshots was saved there. How the fuck do i fix this? I want the screenshots to be saved under its own folder under the G partition. RAM problem, need some advice on how to fix it Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:42 AM PDT So uh, I was looking to upgrade my RAM cos I had one stick of RAM and it's only a 4 gigs stick DDR3, I bought another stick DDR3 4 gigs and slapped it in the other slot. Booted up my computer and I checked if it recognized both sticks and it did, cool! Went onto playing CS and other games blah blah. Next morning, after I started up my computer, stuttering was back when playing games. Checked again and it only recognized 4 gigs of RAM, the old stick I suppose. So, basically, one day I can have 4 GB and the next day have the full 8, and I just go on like this Specs: ASRock H61M-DGS GT 1030 GDDR5 I3 2120 And the sticks are different brands, but I was told that it ain't no problem if brands aren't the same. Any tips on how to fix this shit? [link] [comments] |
Zero day rootkit (CAN PROVIDE SOURCE) Posted: 30 Jun 2019 09:44 PM PDT I'm very tech savvy, but sometimes virus's are too sophisticated to remove with any level of (non professional) computer ability. I'm infected with a rootkit that thwarts every traditional antivirus and blocks access to computer recovery forums. Can somebody knowledgable help me? I caught this virus on Quora from somebody with a masters in computer science and can link if anybody wants to analyze a wild rootkit strain. [link] [comments] |
Computer acts like Keyboard is sticking, even though it's not Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:40 AM PDT Hello everyone, having a strange issue and i'm wondering if someone can help me. I have a Lenovo Legion Y520 Gaming PC, which i use mostly for casual gaming. I'll admit that it's probably not the most secure thing in the world, as i use free anti-virus software, and my messy organisation means the thing is probably littered with unrecognised files, broken links and whatnot, the fact that the computer also saves most of my files to my Onedrive without my permission is also pretty annoying. Recently i started to notice a problem with my system, when i'm playing games and mainly using the WASD keys, occasionally the game will act like the keys are sticking, so if i'm playing CS:GO, my character will continue to move for about 0.5 seconds once i let go of the key, however the key itself is not actually stuck or anything, from what i can tell the keyboard is perfectly fine. I only started noticing this problem after i cleaned the inside of my PC for the first time. I used compressed air and a lint-free cloth, but i did not have access to anti-static equipment at the time. I've had this computer for some time, and i don't want this to be the start of it's downfall as it really meets all my requirements for gaming. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this issue, i'd be really grateful. PS. The keyboard and mouse are simply cheap Logitech wireless variants, connected via a USB reciever on the tower. I will try to provide more information on PC spec's if anyone asks for it. Edit: Apologies for the sudden edit, but i just tried playing Watch_Dogs 2 and i realised the situation is more complex. I think it might be a problem with RAM or storage space, as driving became impossible as the game would constantly refuse to respond to key inputs, or assume that i was still pressing a key. In addition, the game took a full 10 seconds to realise that i was pressing the escape key before it opened the menu. I checked my system and it seems that even when no apps or windows are open, my RAM usage is sitting at 70% to 80% percent, which must be causing the bulk of the issues. I'm guessing that my computer is pretty cluttered with junk files and maybe malware? any advice on how to clean this thing up and fix my problems is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
How do I check to see if I have malware on my computer? Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:40 AM PDT Like the title says, I have no idea about anything computer related besides what I need to know for gaming, so when it comes to malware and issues like that I'm clueless. Recently my ebay account was hacked and a purchase was made so I suspect I have some sort of virus or something on my computer but have no idea how to check for it. I read through the stickied thread about how to REMOVE malware but it seems like some of those options could just nuke my computer and I'm worried about losing what I have. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I seriously need help and I'm honestly freaking out over what other things might've been stolen besides just the ebay stuff. Thank you in advance for any help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:38 AM PDT A week ago my PSU blew up and I just got a new one. Now, when I'm trying to boot my PC the fans start working but nothing else happens. Ofc, no monitor signal either, GPU or integrated graphics. I don't remember if I used to hear any beeps on boot, but now I can't hear anything apart from the fans. I've tried a different GPU and no GPU and there is no monitor signal. I tried resetting the CMOS but it didn't work. I also tried booting with no ram, but no sounds whatsoever. Could it be the CPU? If it's the motherboard I can replace it, but if it's the CPU I'll have to get by with my mobile phone for quite a while. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
My internet cuts out every so often and then reconnects at random. Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:35 AM PDT Title is a little broad so let me elaborate, my internet will seeming cut out at random every 5 to 10 minutes for days then after a minute or two it will reconnect. This happens for days on end however there have been a few days where my internet won't act up at all this has only occurred three times out of the two months I've been having this issue. I've called my ISP several times they've sent out a tech once and it hasn't helped. I've reset my router via unplugging the power cord and then inserting it after 30 seconds. The issues happens on all devices my phone, computer, tv, ect. I'm at a loss I've tried everything I know to do personally. I'm not very technically minded aside from basic pc maintenance and such. Any help is appreciated if any additional information is needed just let me know. [link] [comments] |
Random games and 3DMark crash on GeForce RTX 2060 GamingPro Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:34 AM PDT Hi, guys. I have random crashes with games (Hitman2 for example_ and software 3DMark (TimeSpy Test) on my Palit GeForce RTX™ 2060 GamingPro. I WAS NOT having artifacting, black screens, driver errors. I ran lots of cpu/gpu stress tests (FurMark, AIDA and many others) and was not able to reproduce the crash. Only 3D Mark crashes. Temperatures are not a problem here too, they are below limits. When I stay on integrated Intel GPU all became fine, so the root cause is definitely my external GPU - Palit GeForce RTX™ 2060 GamingPro. My config: Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming или ASRock Z390M Pro4 https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-M-GAMING-rev-10#kf CPU: Intel Core i5 - 9600K OEM RAM: Crucial DDR4 16Gb 3200MHz BLS16G4D32AESB x 1 GPU: Palit GeForce RTX™ 2060 GamingPro http://www.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=3132&lang=en SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus [MZ-V7S500BW] 512GB HDD: Western Digital WD Red 4 TB (WD40EFRX) PSU: 750W Chieftec (GDP-750C) What I have already done:
What have really helped: - underclocking GPU memory and clock setting, I installed "MSI Afterburner" and downclocked it -100Mhz in Core Clock and in Memory Clock. Then I have tried -50 and it also worked well - 3DMarks ran smoothly. I have even tried -1 Mhz and it also worked well. I made a movie to show the case => https://youtu.be/Q3BEIvR9vWk I have absolutely no idea what to do. What is it? I have never overclocked it, so that GPU is not stable on the native clock settings? What should I do? Is it a warranty case? [link] [comments] |
GPU Dead, PCIE or PSU problem? Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:31 AM PDT Hey how are ya, Over the past week, my GPU (Sapphire R9 390) has been repeatedly crashing which results in my monitor having a black screen, although I could still hear the audio in the background of whatever game I'm playing. These crashes prompted me to do multiple things, as an attempt to fix it. I'm not an expert at all, but I have learned a few things along the way:
Today however, it was quite possibly the most gut-wrenching black screen I have gotten so far. Whilst playing TW3, the black screen crash happened once again, this time however, when I rebooted, my monitor said "No signal" and the GPU fans were not spinning. I moved my DVI-D cable onto the Motherboard to my CPU Graphics, and they worked. However, the GPU fans were no longer spinning, and when I tried to plug the cable into them again, the monitor still kept saying "No signal." I also checked Device Manager, and the GPU didn't show in it as well, even when plugged in to the Motherboard and PSU. I moved the GPU down to the PCI-E 8.0 lane to see if it would work there, hoping that the first lane was just broken. Still, the GPU fans did not spin, nor did they have a signal on my monitor. I did not take the PSU out of the picture, but I sincerely doubt it's the problem. I have a 750W EVGA G2 PSU, which I believe is more than enough for my R9 390. Although I have heard that PSUs tend to "worsen" over the years, I still think that a 750W PSU is not the problem. That being said, I just want to clarify whether it's the GPU that's the problem or if it's the PCI-E lane? I can't really check my GPU on another computer because I don't have one, and my friends all have "budget" PCs with 500W PSUs, which I don't want to test on. (tl;dr) Essentially, I have been receiving constant black screens on my GPU, up to the point that the fans don't spin anymore and the monitor says no signal. Is it my GPU? Is it the PCI-E? I wanna make sure just before I make any decisions. Thank you for reading, and I really hope to find a fix [link] [comments] |
How do you log into Gmail without Google Search also being logged in? Posted: 01 Jul 2019 03:28 AM PDT I get absolutely nothing from Google Search knowing my search behaviour, other than poorly-targeted advertising that reminds of the random search I performed last week. When I log into Gmail, that login persists through to Search. How do I prevent this persistence passing through from Gmail to Search, without logging out completely or using incognito? Someone is using my old whatsapp account that i just migrated from! (HELP) Posted: 30 Jun 2019 11:38 PM PDT Hey! So like recently almost a month ago i switched my number on whatsapp because the previous sim belonged to a close-by family personnel but he deactivated it to take back everything that he own! So i migrated my account to a new number! I have read that old whatsapp account are deleted after 45 days of migrating but it has only been 21 days and the messages that my friends and family sent to my old number accidentally are now marked as seen! The profile pic of that account seems to be a lower quality screenshoted version of my own profile pic and even has that whatsapp white bar at the bottom! I am concerned if that guy can see my older messages and media or is it just the newer messages that the guy can receive? I am on an iPhone and i had backed up my previous accounts whatsapp chat to icloud and that guy doesn't have the icloud account and cannot get it either! So is my data safe or can he see all my old messeges? Plz help! Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
