Dualshock 4 Support in Android Q

    Posted: 04 Jul 2019 08:16 PM PDT

Hey guys, finally got a chance to test out my DualShock 4 controller on my Essential PH-1 running Q Beta 4, and despite it recieving official support in Pie, it has never worked better for me than on Q. Button mappings are correct and the performance is very close to that of the Xbox One S controller. Also, the light turns blue now! Anyone else with experiences to share?

[DEV] NSA Intern - Satirical game about surveillance - Codes for 4th of July!

    Posted: 04 Jul 2019 09:34 AM PDT

    Hi Reddit Android!

My best friend Matthew and I have released an indie game we made on the Google Play Store.

Our new app is called NSA Intern. It's a satire that pokes fun at the current state of government surveillance. Long story short, you, a new intern at the National Safety Agency, look through people's phones (fake phones), and determine whether or not the owner of the phone is a terrorist/whether there are any threats to national security on the phone. You can submit evidence from their device. Depending on the evidence you submit, you can get 9 different endings for your suspect. The game has several characters for you to investigate and there is also an overarching storyline that involves several endings depending on how your internship goes.

Here's a trailer for the game: NSA Intern Trailer

Here's a link to the game: NSA Intern

We're both college students and made this as a passion project in our free time over the past year and a half-two years. We wanted to make it something really special and different. We would love for anybody reading this to check it out. We are very open to criticism and interested if you have ideas on how to improve the app! Also, positive feedback is super helpful too.

To celebrate the 4th of July weekend, we are giving away the code fourthofjuly which you can use in-game to unlock a bunch of missions and items! This code will work until 11:59 PM on July 6th.

Here's how you use the code in game: http://tinyurl.com/nsainterncode

Tap top right of 'settings' screen a few times, enter code, tap top right again.

Feel free to share the game/code with your friends. The more people, the merrier. :)

Thanks for checking out our little game. This community was so helpful in the launch of our first game, NoStranger. We wanted to crank it up with this latest release. We hope you like it as much as we liked making it.

If you have any questions about the game/criticism, do not hesitate to leave a comment here or email us at [blackveinproductions@gmail.com](mailto:blackveinproductions@gmail.com). I will respond ASAP. Really want to make it perfect!

Also, you guys may get a kick out of Apple's response to our game (We were rejected from the App Store) due to "Encouraging users to fight terrorists".

Yep... Gotta love the App Store, and only a 100 dollars a year to get rejected! ;P To be fair to Apple, they had other hesitations about the game as well, but the above comment was the main concern. Although I kind of understand what they were getting at, I think the wording is funny.

Thanks again for giving our game a try!

Finally discovered the greatness of glide typing and Gboard

    Posted: 04 Jul 2019 05:03 AM PDT

All of my smart phone have been from ther Samsung Galaxy S series and I only every used the stock Samsung keyboard. Many times I had switched to Gboard or Swiftkey and I just couldn't find the appeal to it so I always went back to Samsung's keyboard.

A few days ago, I tried Gboard and Swiftkey again, but this time, I put in an effort to try glide typing. I stuck with Gboard because I didn't want to have to sign into an account to use a keyboard and glide typing on the stock Samsung keyboard is terrible. I have to say, I'm really impressed with glide typing, especially on Gboard. It didn't take much to get used to and it's much more accurate than I was expecting.

If you haven't tried it glide typing, I highly recommend you do. It's honestly a game changer when it comes to typing on my phone.

    Gboard spoken punctuation improvement?

    Posted: 04 Jul 2019 09:14 AM PDT

For the umpteenth time, I just spoke the words "colon" and "quote" while using Gboard and for the first time (at least for me) it actually typed out the punctuation instead of the word.

So of course I just tried it again while creating this post, and it printed out the words instead. I guess it's just hit or miss?

Of course ?,!,. has always worked (and I just spoke those), but I've never had luck with "colon", "quote", "open paren", or "close paren".

Swype was great at this. Is it just me? Does this work for anyone else? Google, I know you're reading this 😆, so any chance you could make this happen?
