Posted: 29 May 2019 07:37 PM PDT I haven't opened it yet and it says it's from Virat kohli, i googled that name and it seems that it's an indian cricketer. I wanna delete the app because i don't really use it, and i can't delete it, just disable it, the only way to do it is conecting my phone on my pc and delete the app with a program? i used once Debloater but that only hides the app. I won't open the notification idk if it's a virus or something (idk if there are virus for android). My phone is an Oneplus 6T btw. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 May 2019 01:44 PM PDT Hi all, This problem has just started today. Whenever I get a text / notification, it plays the notification sound three/four times over itself. I have tried putting it on silent mode, and it plays all the same. I've put it on Do Not Disturb, but for some reason the notification sounds just keep playing. I'm really hoping someone has had a similar experience, as I can't go on with a phone playing everything loudly in public and when I'm trying to sleep. I'm on Android version 9, One UI version 1.0. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

SIM card works in one phone, but is not recognized in different phone Posted: 29 May 2019 01:35 PM PDT Hello all! I'm trying to help my dad out with a SIM issue he's having and I seem to have hit a dead end. I was hoping someone here might have an idea. Brance yourself for the background story: My folks have their wireless service through Consumer Cellular, one of those AARP-endorsed senior citizens carriers. Consumer Cellular uses GSM network technology; the primary carrier they use to provide service is AT&T, and T-mobile as a backup. My father has a Motorola Moto G4 that he has been using for a year or two and has never had any problems. The software is completely up to date. My folks are about to visit Germany and contacted Consumer Cellular about international service, and the company shipped him a T-Mobile SIM and told him to simply switch cards and they would activate the T-mobile card, which could take a where from 24-72 hours. He waited and waited and every time he turned the phone on, he got a message stating the phone had no SIM card. He called them back, and they sent him a 2nd card saying the first was probably defective. He got the card, tried it again - same thing, phone doesn't see any sim card. He called back AGAIN, they sent him a 3rd T-mobile SIM, same exact problem. He pulled out his prior cell phone, a basic Doro flip phone, charged it up, and put the active T-mobile SIM in it. The phone works beautifully with no errors. The correct size SIM is in the Moto G4. The software is up to date. He tried shimming the card in case it wasn't touching the contacts properly. He checked and all the SIM contacts are intact and and bent properly. He cleaned both the contacts and the SIM and it still will not recognize the SIM. The Consumer Cellular folks told him to buy a T-mobile SIM once he got to Germany and gave him the unlock code for the phone and just told him to unlock it when he got there. That's fine, but understandably he's hesitant to do that and doesn't want to carry both phones overseas (they're very minimalist about travel.) What else is going on that I might not be thinking of? Thanks! tl;dr: Dad's Moto G4 will not work with a T-mobile SIM card, but his old Doro flip phone will work fine with the SIM. Cleaning and shimming don't work. Help please. [link] [comments] |
Verizon Samsung s8+ data from secure folder missing after 9 update Posted: 29 May 2019 03:38 PM PDT Hey folks, got the mandatory 9 update and I've discovered that all my pictures and video that I had stored in the secure folder gallery are missing. All the secure folder apps are there, they just have no data. I did not do any backups to the Samsung server so there's nothing to restore. Android version 9 Kernel 4.4. 153 Knox version 3.2.1 Knox API level 27 Tima 3.3.0 Let me know if you have any ideas or need any additional info. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

How to force S8 into only utilizing top half of screen? Posted: 29 May 2019 01:12 PM PDT As the bottom 9/16 of my screen isn't displaying anymore due to a crack, I would like to force my Galaxy S8 into only utilizing the top 7/16 of my screen, so that I can see everything on my screen. The area of broken screen can still accept touch input, however as it doesn't display, guessing where items on my screen are is usually unreliable and I'd rather not deal with that. Thanks for any advice. [link] [comments] |
(Question) How to use app that needs sim card without one. Posted: 29 May 2019 06:07 PM PDT At my work, I'm given a device without sim card. Unfortunately the app I use for working(OneNavi, korean navigating app) requires sim card. Since I'm not familiar with androids, I wonder if there would be any way to fool my device as it has sim card. Like jailbreaking in iPhone, I've heard there is similar thing called 'rooting'. Will rooting be able to give the feature of what I need? [link] [comments] |
Help transferring a large amount of files from PC/Google Drive to Android tablet. Posted: 29 May 2019 12:58 PM PDT I'm trying to transfer a file folder from my laptop to my kindle fire. The folder has a ton of files (>20,000) and it always seems to crash before it can finish. Typically it goes for over 2 hours transferring and it will be like 50% done, then after about 15 more minutes it is miraculously done. When I look at the folder on my tablet I see that it isn't all there. I have tried multiple methods of transfer including usb cord connected to the PC, uploading the folder to google drive and transferring through ES File Explorer, and transferring over WiFi with Feem. No luck with any of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can provide additional info if necessary. [link] [comments] |
Lock app to prevent it being closed during 'close all' Posted: 29 May 2019 01:43 PM PDT This was a feature before I upgraded to Android Pie. When you open the active app selection, there was Lock icon that allowed you to lock the app so it wouldn't close when you close all other apps. This is useful for music apps like Spotify that close when you do this. [link] [comments] |

Verizon LG STYLO 4: receiving pictures thru text, picture is always low quality/blurry? Posted: 29 May 2019 03:04 PM PDT My husband has a Verizon LG Stylo 4 on the Total Wireless network. He is using the Google texting app, but this issue doesn't seem to be an app issue. If anyone sends him a picture through text, the picture is low quality and grsiny/blurry. Also, I have a note 8 and use the Google texting app. If I send him a gif (I don't know if it's the same with other contacts and gifs) it doesn't move. It's just a still photo, but still rather poor quality. We've checked for updates. We've tried different texting apps. If he forwards me the picture it's still crappy quality. Any idea how to fix this? [link] [comments] |

Fingerprint Scanner Not Working Moto z3 Posted: 29 May 2019 04:48 PM PDT Help me, my fingerprint scanner on my Moto z3 stopped working yesterday. I upgraded to Android 9 a month or two ago, and it did another system update automatically last Thursday, May 23. It is now Wednesday, May 29. It said fingerprint hardware not available once yesterday upon startup, and has not said anything since. I plugged it into my computer today, and my com.fingerprints.serviceext file is completely gone. What does that mean, and how can I fix it? any help is much appreciated, this issue is very aggravating. [link] [comments] |
Does Google Drive photos take up space or not? Posted: 29 May 2019 11:47 AM PDT I have a folder on my Google Drive called Google Photos. It must be taking up a lot of space. I have 106GB on my Google One. 41GB Google Drive 53GB Google Photos 10GB GMail I want to recover the space from Google Drive. There is no way of knowing how much each folder takes up, all I can do is search for large files. I thought the Google Photos folder in Google Drive was an ADDITIONAL backup when I have it checked in the Android App. But when I went to delete it, this came up: Imgur I'm really worried if I delete it, it will remove those folders from Google Photos as well. Any ideas? I want to remove it as its hitting my space limit [link] [comments] |

Pixel 3a - Google Assistant doesn't do simple things when there is no signal. Posted: 29 May 2019 09:47 AM PDT Hi, I came from an iphone where I don't remember having this same issue with Siri. I was in a basement doing some work and I wanted Google Assistant to help set a timer, but it responded that it has no network (which is true, there was no signal down there). Is there something I'm missing or something I need to download for Google Assistant to do basic stuff like set a reminder or set a timer when I have no signal whatsoever? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 May 2019 07:54 PM PDT So long story short, my Galaxy S9+ was ran over by a car, the screen is unresponsive but it played music and the finger print unlock worked until I took the old sim card and sd card out and put them in the new phone. My guess is when I turn the phone on, it's asking for my password to unlock the phone instead of the fingerprint but I can't put my password in since the screen doesn't work. My question is how can I transfer files from the old mostly broken phone to the new one? Any programs I can put on my laptop or should I just got to my service providers store? [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to control the Mock Location App for individual apps? Posted: 29 May 2019 07:32 PM PDT I've got a Galaxy S8 and I've got my phone being tracked through Life360. I've managed to spoof my GPS location through a Fake GPS app and changing the "Mock location app" in the dev settings to be from that Fake GPS, which I can turn on and off the spoofing from inside the Fake GPS app. This works perfectly to hide my location from Life360 but it also hides my location from everything else on the phone, like Google Maps and Snapchat. Is there a way that I can have control over which apps receive the mock location? For example, if I wanted to hide my location on Life360 but still use Google Maps to find my way around my actual location. [link] [comments] |
Galaxy S10 Bluetooth Audio Sounds Like I'm On The Phone Posted: 29 May 2019 07:31 PM PDT So not sure when this happened, but when I connect bluetooth headphones to my Galaxy S10 and try to listen to music, it sounds like I'm on the phone. I have to turn the phone off in Bluetooth settings...once I do, the audio gets really LOUD. When someone calls I have to then go back and turn the phone on. Same happens in the car. The moment I turn on music, my car shows as if I'm dialing myself. I hang up and the audio comes back. I tried resetting my network settings, deleting and adding the devices. Clearing the bluetooth cache, data, forcing stop. Nothing helps. Does anyone know what's up with this? I will mention that I was using AirPods...but still doesn't explain the car issues. I feel like it happened after the April update. Edit: It happens with the Galaxy Buds too, so AirPods factor are irrelavant. [link] [comments] |
