GPU starting to fail after new driver

Hi guys! Hope you can help me with this.

After I updated to the latest NVIDIA driver for my GTX 1070, my display started to refresh sometimes and after a couple of refreshes, it goes off completely. The PC is still running, but no video signal is being sent. Sometimes, Windows blue screen appears and a VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE is shown. I've tested with multiple monitors. The problem persists. The only way to avoid it is by plugging the HDMI cable directly to the HDMI port of the motherboard, which indicates it is related to the GPU and not necessarily Windows or the motherboard.

When this "refreshes" happen, I notice a peak at the 3D graph in task manager which could indicate a malfunction.

    My specs are:

    i5 4590

    16gb DDR3

    Gigabyte H97-Gaming 3

    EVGA GTX 1070 (no oc)

I went onto a website, and it redirected me to this. Is it something to worry about?

    Error 2100: HDD0 Initialization error

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:15 PM PDT

One day as I was using my Lenovo Thinkpad X201 tablet laptop with a brand new, month old Samsung Evo 860 SSD. It suddenly shuts off. When I tried to turn it on, the Lenovo splash screen stays up for almost 10 minutes before displaying the error in the title. This has happened every time I booted from the SSD since that day and I have been forced to revert to my old, laggy, nightmare of a Hitachi HDD. I'm wondering if I there is any way I can fix the SSD or if I have to use the warranty to get it replaced. Thanks in advance.

    Javaw.exe runs then quits

    Posted: 03 Apr 2019 08:48 AM PDT

I have a Windows 10 machines where, when I double click a JAR file, javaw.exe runs for a second then quits. If I just the JAR file from command line it runs fine (java -jar filename.jar). It's only when I double click or do an open with. I have checked the system variables and compared them to another machine and they look ok. Happening to all users on the laptop not just one

    Anyone have thoughts?

Edit. Just noticed that it only opens and closes the first time you try and run the file. After that it doesn't open at all

My laptop isn’t working and I’m really worried about my hard drive

    Posted: 02 Apr 2019 05:36 PM PDT

I have no idea what is causing this issue so I will include all possibly relevant details. I have a Lenovo Legion Y520 laptop with Windows 10 that I've owned for about 1 year. The power button doesn't work because I guess it was pressed in too hard too many times so I've resorted to inserting a pipe cleaner into the tiny restart hole in the side of my laptop to turn it on every time. Last night I did just that as per usual, but it wasn't turning on, so I did it a few times and held down on it for like 15 seconds before realizing that the outlet I was using to charge it was faulty. I switched to the other outlet and it powered on my laptop and the startup screen and novo button menu showed up as per usual and I hit normal startup like I usually do, but then "Checking media_" flashed a few times in the corner of an otherwise black screen before I received this error message. When I hit OK it brings me to the boot manager where my only option is to hit enter on "EFI PXE Network", which brings me back to the same error message. I tried running in legacy support mode as many guides instructed me to but this just results in a loop where the laptop constantly starts up and powers down over and over without any input from me (the screen also looks like this), so I reset my settings back to default. Also, I can't find anything wrong with the BIOS settings, it looks like everything is showing up as it should. I can't even factory reset the damn thing because every time I select System Recovery and hit enter it gives me that same first error message, and holding down the restart button and hitting the F keys does nothing except for open up the Novo Button Menu. I don't know what to do now, I need my laptop for important class work and I'm stressing out, anyone who can help me I'll literally give gold.
