Samsung phones 10/10, their customer service 1/10

    Posted: 28 Mar 2019 02:30 PM PDT

It's a shame that a company which produces such amazing products is let down by the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I had an issue with my S10 + (which I had pre-ordered) so I requested an exchange, instead the lady put in a return for refund meaning that I lost the Galaxy Buds Pre-order bonus.

The issue with their support is that the staff have a basic understanding of english and literally follow a script, the second the query goes off script they have no idea what to do and are unable to problem solve. A manager offered a £10 voucher towards the galaxy buds which is ridiculous considering that I would have got them for free with my phone.

Another big excuse they use is "we need to transfer you to someone else who is not available so let's schedule a callback"... 3 days later no callback.

Samsung seriously you are really letting yourselves down, all you need to do is get support representatives that can speak the local language AND problem solve.

    Galaxy buds keep disconnecting

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 06:52 AM PDT

    Hello,

I just got the galaxy buds a couple of days ago and I love them. They're really comfortable and small!

The issue I'm having is that they keep stop playing music for example when I'm listening to Spotify and suddenly the sound stops and it shows that the song has stopped. They're still connected to the phone. When I go into Spotify the song is paused and back at the start. Could anyone suggest any solution or something?

I'm using the buds with my S10.

    Thank you!

Poor quality from S10 selfie cam, hardware or software issue?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 03:44 AM PDT

I upgraded from a galaxy S8+ and I love the S10 but I've noticed the selfie cam is lacking, it takes really grainy photos, especially in low light. It seems like my S8 and even older phones took better selfies. Rear facing cameras are fantastic but also seem kinda weak in low light compared to other flagship phones. Did Samsung downgrade the camera sensor or is this just a software issue? I'm running one UI 1.1 Android 9, build #PPR1.180610.011.G973USQU1ASBA

Impact of overnight charging charging on S10?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 02:34 AM PDT

I try to stick to the 20%-80% rule, but I occasionally slip up and fall asleep without unplugging my S10+. How much impact does it have on battery to leave the phone on a fast charger at 100% for several hours every now and then?

Issue with Galaxy Buds loosing connection while in my pockets, maybe a glitch or bad Buds?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 07:12 AM PDT

So I just got my Galaxy Buds from my pre-order S10+ and I'm noticing that while my phone is in my pocket, all I have to do is place my hand over my pocket flush with the top of the device and it will immediately cut the audio to the buds. I have tested it in other pants, jackets, and hoodies and it seems to be consistent. If the device is facing charger end down with the top of the device in pockets it is much harder to do, with the top of the device down and the charger end up it's every single time. Anyone else had a similar issue or want to test theirs, give me some feedback! Love the Buds btw! Great sound and very comfy😀

    Galaxy buds battery life underestimated?

Samsung say 6 hours, I've had mine in for almost 5 hours and they're at 65% battery still... These things are insane

    Past Trade-in Experiences and Tips?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 04:31 AM PDT

I'm trading in my S9+ for the $550 credit on my S10+. It's in pretty good condition, except for a small light scratch on the screen, which I think should be okay? (Considered as normal wear and tear? I do have a warranty to get it replaced for $20, should I do that?)

I found some old threads where people traded in devices in mint condition and had them rejected for some ridiculous false (?) reason and I've been reading through tips on like documenting the state/status of the phone.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a more recent experience or has tips? Thank you!

    Quick Question

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 08:08 AM PDT

So i'm making the switch from IPhone to Samsung and I was wondering if the samsung s10 plus could be rooted? I really just want to be able to use emoji switcher to be honest. I like the IPhone emojis more. Or if there's a non root way to change the emojis to ios 12.1 then let me know!! Thank you. (Also for snapdragon one not elyxnos)

Galaxy Buds estimated to arrive today but don't appear to be shipped yet.

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 08:02 AM PDT

FedEx give today's date as the estimated delivery date, but tracking only shows the shipping label has been created. Do you think the tracking isn't updating or that the estimate is wrong?

    Game tools on S10+ bugged?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 06:55 AM PDT

    Hello,

Anyone else having the issue that when I startup a game, I always have to toggle Dolby Atmos for gaming on, and Block Auto Brightness?

For the brightness, I use auto during the day and fixed during the night, but it's really annoying that I have to toggle things on everytime.

Galaxy S10e vs Note 9 Pie update battery life

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 06:55 AM PDT

    Hi guys and gals,

I'm thinking of buying an S10e or Note 9 in the next couple of months, upgrading from an S6. I am looking for a phone with a good battery life for my daily usage - occasional phone calls, video calls, messanger and hangouts, YouTube, and Gmail. I take a lot of photos and use Google Maps when I travel usually. My preferred screen brighteness is usually around 15-20%.

My S6, however, dies way too soon now. To save battery, I have to turn the airplane mode on constantly.

I would like to know whether which phone, either S10e or Note 9 after Pie update has the better battery life. My concern is that Note 9 does have a bigger battery, but also a huge display with a higher resolution than S10e, which in turn has a much smaller battery, but a more power-efficient chip, smaller screen, lower resolution.

I also plan to use DeX with the phone, which is one of my main reasons for going with the S/Note line than with the A series.

Would you be able to give some advice on the battery life of these two phones in a similar usage pattern such as mine?

    Thank you!

Why would SAMSUNG get rid of customizing background of messaging app?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 06:46 AM PDT

The whole point I've ever bought Samsung products because I love being able to customize anything anytime I want. I love changing the background pix on the message app or the chat bubbles or the font. So wtf? They take it away.....

Any good equalizers worth recommending? (viper4android alternative without root)

    Posted: 29 Mar 2019 06:27 AM PDT

I am a proud user of an S10, and also a little bit of an audiophile. I used to have an s8+, which I had rooted just to be able to use viper4android (the best equalizer for android). I always rooted every phone I had for this equalizer. It made the music so much more rich, and it made me wonder why it wasn't that way by default. It is a complete night and day difference. But now with the S10, the standard equalizer is just so ineffective, there is no bass and it just sounds so bland to me. Unfortunately there is not safe root available for the S10, and there are even speculations that future android updates will make rooting impossible. I miss the good quality, but I don't want to switch to an older phone. Is there anything that comes close to the sound quality of viper4android without root?

    Thanks in advance <3
