I placed an ad in Craigslist and someone sent me a six-digit code and asked me to send it to them. I tried calling the number and a recording said it's a text-based phone so I sent the six digit code to the number. They never called me and I'm concerned that I should not have done that. | Separate volume for phone speakers and headphones? Posted: 31 Mar 2019 11:41 AM PDT I'm pretty sure that in Android 8, I could set the volume of the phone speakers for media to low but the volume for media when playing through headphones to be high. Pull out the head phones, phone media volume goes low. Put headphones back in, press play, media volume is high. This doesn't seem to be the case with Android 9. Or am I just going crazy? | Phone randomly Google searching "Weather" all the time Posted: 31 Mar 2019 08:19 PM PDT I've had my Note 9 for about two months. I had the same issue on my previous phone (Galaxy S7). My phone will randomly Google search "Weather." It does it often, a few times a day. My old phone did this and has been for years. It used to randomly open the weather app, so I disabled the default weather app. Now it Googles "Weather." This is VERY ANNOYING! It will interrupt whatever I'm doing, navigation, music, reddit, anything. Any solutions? Any more information I need to provide? [link] [comments]  |

| Accessing and using a tablet with a broken screen using a PC Posted: 31 Mar 2019 07:48 PM PDT I busted my tablet this evening and I'm mad at myself about it. Stupid mistake, my fault etc. The screen is broken real bad, almost all of it is black with about 25% visible but nothing useable. I plan on shopping for a new one tomorrow. Online stock at local shops shows my preferred tablet is not in but can be shipped to me by the end of the week. In the meantime, I have some work I need to do and I can only use the apps on my tablet as I don't have a smart phone capable of running the apps. Is there a way I can access my tablet via my PC? I cant use, touch or see the screen to connect it to my PC so I was hoping there was a way for my PC to connect to my tablet and I can use my PC screen to display what my tablet would normally display without a broken screen Tablet is android lolipop acer iconia one 10 PC is windows 10, HP laptop [link] [comments]  |

I woke up 4 hours later to the call Still being on and 2nd degree burn on my arm. I figured out this was my phone. I was using Hangouts and the phone wasn't plugged in. Posted: 31 Mar 2019 05:19 PM PDT So I've been trying to install TWRP 3.2.3-1-marlin on my Pixel XL using the adb method (here is what I'm trying to follow: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/ ) and when i do this command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img, it spits back this error below: FAILED (remote: 'partition [recovery] doesn't exist') I don't know what i did for it to do this but is there any way to fix this? | Posted: 31 Mar 2019 05:45 AM PDT I used to be up to date on all the latest, following the headlines in news apps, listening to TWiT, TWiG, and TWiA every week, constantly swapping and upgrading my phone. I was always the person family and friends came to for help and recommendations. Then I got a new job and had a kid. The last phones I bought new for my wife and I were a OnePlus One and Nexus 5X. I grabbed a cheap LG G5 a couple years ago after my toddler broke my OPO. We're really stating to feel the age of our phones and now that I've started shopping again, I realize I'm no longer the know-it-all enthusiast I once was. I'm now the one who needs help! We have a ~$600 total budget for two phones, so I obviously know we're not going to get bleeding edge. There's a small degree of flexibility as we've earmarked some tax return money for phones and can afford a bit more if it's a large upgrade over the $300 range. We're on cricket but I've been considering trying Mint, so GSM compatibility is appreciated. I would be open to spending a bit more on carrier plans if there's an amazing deal like the TMO 2 for $100 - but all those phones seem like garbage. I'm comfortable romming so it'd also be nice for that option to help with longevity (it's how I've tolerated my G5 this long). I keep coming back to refurbished Pixel 2s on Amazon for $290. Is there anything newer that would give me more bang? I know the G7 was just released - how's that compare? What about the Nokia's? | No speaker sound on Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Posted: 31 Mar 2019 03:15 PM PDT Basically, for no reason the speaker on my phone isn't playing any audio and when audio is playing in the phone, the speaker outputs nothing but a very low buzzing sound (you have to get very close to it to hear it) and when audio has stopped playing it makes a slightly louder (easily audible) pop noise. I have dropped it once early last year and I have a hairline crack in the middle of my screen but it has been working up until recently when it randomly stopped. I have looked all over Google for a diagnosis or fix but cannot find anything. The phone doesn't think it is still in headphone mode like most people think is my issue because the volume bar doesn't have the orange warning area like it does when I plug headphones in. When prompted to accept or deny location, notifications or anything else in Chrome as well as other apps, I can't select accept or deny, everything appears fine but it just will not read/accept my input. Anyone have any ideas? Another issue which also might be related is when I try to allow last pass, or nova launcher accessibility access, I get an error saying "because an app is obscuring a permission request". I've disabled all apps that have draw over other apps permission and still have the issue. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Thank You [link] [comments]  |
