After destroying a phone my litle cousin gifted me (it's a long story) , i bought for myself a redmi note 4, about an year and a half ago. Today for the first time i was able to use the miui 10 update, and i fell in love with it! I even customize the shit out of it without using theme or different launchers I realy want to upgrade to a new one, since i'm having issue with bluetooth and reception. What would be the top 3 xiaomi phones aviable rn in europe? My priority are battery life, less lag in bluetooth and maybe camera quality. PS: are the xiaomi headset/earphone worth it? | Bought Chinese Mi 8, What's the difference between Global, Chinese and Xiaomi.eu ROMs? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 11:11 AM PST First Xiaomi phone and I have no Idea what ROM should be installed. I knowingly chose the Chinese version of the phone because it came with the bootloader pre-unlocked, however I was thinking I might try out MIUI for a while before anything. I am aware that I cannot re-lock the bootloader. However, the vendor will install one of his ROMs on it, so I want to make sure I change it to the correct ROM as soon as I get it, as his might be a fake or something like that. What is the difference between the Global and Chinese versions of the ROM? I heard NFC/Google Pay doesn't work on the MI 8 with the Global ROM, but it did on the .eu ROM. Is Xiaomi.eu the European version of the ROM? Is it official? I want both NFC and the face unlock to work. Any other features that are locked down or disabled per region that I should know about? Podcast Addict (and other media apps) not showing on lock screen during media playback Posted: 05 Feb 2019 12:02 AM PST MIUI 10.2 and nova launcher I've turned on every option for showing notifications in the settings including: No battery saving restriction Show notifications -> all turned on Other permissions -> Show on Lock screen It used to work for MIUI 9, but since 10 I can't get it to show. It works for Spotify, but I can't see any setting for Spotify that isn't set for other apps. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 05 Feb 2019 04:38 AM PST Hi, I am on MIUI 10.3 (xiaomi.eu) ROM and just enabled the camera2api and EIS using Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools and installed Arnova's v8.3b1. The problem is that the front camera does not take pictures. I can hear the camera clicking sound but no picture is taken. And in some cases, picture is taken but its just a black image. My fear is the battery. I would like to know how much you spend per % watching a football game or a movie/series with 1h50/2h. I shine in normal (middle) mode. I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and the battery doesn't last 1h. On the other hand, I see the Pocophone as an extra 50€ effort, but I don't know if it's worth the effort. Notch is not a problem for me (well, will be my first time trying it if go for the 6, but I guess it will be not), and people say Note 6 isn't worth the pay, but I am afraid that I will regret buying the 5 when I could afford the newer version although there isn't even a year between their release date. When I say "Hey Google" with the screen off it recognizes it, but shows the PIN input. If I enter the PIN or uses my fingerprint the assistant starts. "Access with Voice Match" and "Unlock with Voice Match" are both activated in Google Assistant settings. I've trained the voice model. Under the system settings - Additional Settings - Privacy - Trust agents I have "Smart Lock (Google)" activated (although I can't find the smart lock settings anywhere and trusted places doesn't work). I need to have a PIN/fingerprint on my device, but I'd also like to use the assistant hands free. Is it possible? Also, does anyone know how to find the smart lock settings? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Bet how long my new fake battery is going to last. Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:40 AM PST TL;DR down below I ordered an original Xiaomi BM47 battery for my Redmi 3 Pro device. Battery seemed to be genuine. I successfully changed my old battery (flex cable was broken, no other problems) with the new one. Guess what? Flex cable of the new battery only lasted a week, I started getting the same error I used to get with the old one (battery temperature too low) . I opened up the phone to see what's going on inside and saw a crack on the flex cable. I ordered a new battery from a different seller, price was the same, battery was looking the same in the picture but what came out of the box was an "elite energy" branded knockoff battery. I had no choice since I'm too broke to buy a new phone, had no time to wait for a refund or a new battery so I got this one installed in a professional shop instead of doing it myself. Battery works fine for now, battery life is okay but I don't know how long it's going to last. TL;DR + Ending : I want you guys to bet on how long this "Elite Energy" battery is going to last.
