So, I just found a really beautiful live wallpaper & thought, I might as well share it here Posted: 28 Feb 2019 03:19 AM PST So, I was just surfing through XDA, where I found a Live Wallpaper Port, "Aurora Live Wallpaper" from Google Pixel. It's really beautiful, changes colour depending on time & weather, and has no battery drain whatsoever. If you have a Snapdragon device & Android nougat or higher, I think you should definitely check it out. • Screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/oRlOwt4 • Link to wallpaper: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-live-data-wallpapers/google-live-data-wallpapers-7-1-2-release/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:34 AM PST I remember reading something like 'Bounce' or something that would only grant permissions when necessary. I'd appreciate the help! [link] [comments] |
[DEV][FREE] Fast: the fastest app switcher for Android Posted: 28 Feb 2019 11:23 AM PST Hi! The last weekend I've developed a completely free app without ads that let you switch between apps very quickly. I guarantee that once you've got used to Fast, you can open any app on your phone in less than one second, no matter what you're doing. The main idea is very simple: type the name of the app, and open the app as soon as what you've typed has a unique matching. You can download it from the Play Store. Let's suppose you want to open the app MoviesFad (shameless promotion to another app of mine). You can open Fast using a shortcut, then type the initials of the app, for example "Mo". As soon as there's a unique app that matches what you've written, MoviesFad opens. By looking at the app installed on my phone, and the phones of my friends, I've discovered that you can open basically every app with as little as one or two keystrokes. Obviously, to use Fast, you'll need to open it first. How you do that it's up to you, but I've got a few suggestions:
Nice things about Fast
Advanced featuresSorting and pressing enterFast remembers which apps you open, so the list of apps is sorted in a useful way. For example, suppose you have installed two apps: "Maps" and "Pac Man", and you open very frequently Maps, and rarely Pac Man. Then, if you type "Ma" on Fast, both the apps are shown, but Maps is first. Then you can press enter on the keyboard, and Maps opens, even if there's no unique matching. Hide and rename appsUnfortunately, it's very common to have installed apps that you rarely or never open. By long pressing an app, you can hide it or rename it. This is particularly useful since Fast works well when there are few matches for any given search query. For example, suppose you've installed "Boost", a Reddit client, and "Bingo". When you press "B" on Fast, both apps are shown. If you never use Bingo, you can completely hide it, so by typing "b", Boost opens immediately. Alternatively, you can choose to rename "Boost" to "Reddit", so when you type an "r", Boost opens immediately. [link] [comments] |

Is there any application that gives you "small things" you should try and experiment with? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 10:03 AM PST This post is inspired by some app I've came across on this sub for sleeping. In that app there were some experiments related to sleep like drink coffee, use ambient noices etc. I was wondering of there's anything similar to try to experiment for real life (ex. eat fruits for a week)? Apps that turn off wifi hotspot after a limit has been reached? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:58 AM PST Are there any apps that can track mobile data and turn off the hotspot after a predefined amount of data has been used? I've tried datally and mobwifi but those only notify me that the limit has been reached. I even tried using Tasker to turn off the mobile hotspot when it sees the notification from mobwifi but I found that mobwifi sometimes stops counting data. Is there any reliable way to do this? My phone is rooted btw [link] [comments] |
Root Call Blocker alternative for Android 8? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 07:20 AM PST I need to block incoming calls from unknown, and selected known numbers. Don't send to voicemail, but either ignore (let it ring in background without notifying me) or accept and hang up immediately. Is there an alternative for Root Call Blocker working on Android 8? Could be an app, magisk module, whatever, I have root access. Many thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Looking for ONE-OFF video editor Posted: 28 Feb 2019 11:52 AM PST I have tried several video editors and the ones that have a great UI all seem to require a monthly subscription. I have tried: PowerDirector Timbre Kinemaster ActionDirector I can't justify $5 a month just to remove a watermark on an app I may use once every few month. Timbre's UI is too clunky to get behind. Can't always preview a thumbnail and often get an error while attempting to join videos. Love Kinemaster but it's a subscription. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to buy a region locked app? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 05:33 AM PST I want to buy an app that is available only in Denmark. I know i can use a VPN to trick the PlayStore into thinking i'm somewhere else, but is it safe to buy region locked apps using my credit card? Because there's no way (i suppose) i can use foreign money without raising suspicions. [link] [comments] |

Is there a music app that quits properly? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 05:06 AM PST I'm looking for a functioning music app that doesn't put the album art on screen and that quits properly when I quit. At the moment I have to disable notifications and force quit every music app after I'm done so my android doesn't accidentally press play during a meeting (and subsequently blast lyrics of hood culture in professional settings) [link] [comments] |

App for logging my daily activities? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:09 AM PST I need an app that lets me record my daily activities. So some kind of button for ending the last event/starting the new event and recording a label. So I end up with something like: 0900 - 1000 meeting with vendor 1000 - 1200 read and replied to emails 1200-1300 lunch 1300 - 1400 one to one 1400 - 1600 research I know I could just add these into Outlook but it would be great to have an app because speed and easy of entry is most important. Export/email/edit functionalities would be optional extras. Anyone know any good apps like this? thank you [link] [comments] |

FB alternative that is best for FB Groups? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 05:06 AM PST I don't really like FB itself, however most groups that used to be email-based or Yahoo Groups have moved to FB for various reasons. Which alternative app / wrapper works best with groups? I find that in Facebook itself, group posts get lost when you are in a view for that specific group - but when you scroll your feed - they show there. Also, FB doesn't sort Groups by name (I subscribe to several). It makes it challenging to find groups sometimes since you can only favorite 10. Thanksl [link] [comments] |

Looking for photo editor with collages, photo-on-photo pasting and a lot of fonts to choose from Posted: 27 Feb 2019 10:43 PM PST I'd also love to have a feature where you can cut parts of your image (similarly to Photoshop's "Magic Wand") and paste them onto another image but honestly I don't believe it's possible on mobile.
