Exynos 9820 vs Snapdragon 855 (repost due to low effort)

Like last year, exynos version is slower than snapdragon 855, mostly due to inferior gpu. Congratulations to US customers, I guess.

How to get the s10 cheaper

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 07:36 AM PST

Samsung has the trade in option offer that if you either trade a s9 or s9 plus, or a note 9 or a note 8 you get 550 dollars of discount.

For them to give you the money the phone has to have a perfect screen, reseted and well without any types of locks.

Which you can get on eBay, you can get a note 8 for about 270 dollars with all those conditions( try not getting it refurbished).

So now you can get the 550 discount with just spending about 270 dollars, now try to sell your phone on let go or offer up for about 600 or 550 dollars (if you have the note 9).

If you are university student or have a work mail try putting it in their discount program and they basically discount the the taxes.

So in short you will be spending about 100-200 dollars on the s10 plus and you get a 130 e cirtificate from them plus 5 dollars in points.

NYC - Where is best to order and pickup S10+ in Store?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 06:57 AM PST

Is it better to go straight to Samsung or are there other good shops with better deals?

I'd like to get the S10+ to have a much better camera (currently have S7 edge). It was a toss up between that and Mate 20 Pro.

Problem is I start travelling for 5 months on 8th March from UK and will be landing in NYC in the afternoon, staying for 5 days.

I would have liked to buy it in the UK but it won't be possible as I fly at 9am.

Can any NYers or Americans help me out with where to buy this phone online so I can pick it up on the 9th perhaps? I do have a friend in NYC so I suppose I could get it delivered to his place too.

    Thanks!

Anyone else see their charge on your bank account disappear for preorders?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 02:50 AM PST

I preordered the s10 last Wednesday and they charged me $773 and was immediately deducted from my account. Now I dont see charge and the $773 is added back for some reason. I didn't cancel it or anything. It still says its preordered and everything on the samsung site.

The s10e is basically Android in the iPhone XS body and I love it

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 07:09 PM PST

So I've have not been a fan of the iPhone OS ever since iOS 7 was released and made the interface ugly, marking the iPhone 5 as my last iPhone. That said, ever since the iPhone X was released I have been a huge fan of the size and design of the phone, but not enough to make me switch to iOS again. It's been very tempting these past 2 years, but I'm an Android fan for life due to the customization it provides.

So when I found out the s10e was pretty much the equivalent of the iPhone XS in body, I was ecstatic. Seriously look at this comparison. It's crazy how similar they are aside from the notch. I haven't had time to actually play the phone in person yet, but I look forward to it this weekend and ordering my own next month when I'm able to upgrade from my old LG G5.

Anyone getting the s10e for the same reasons? I've never been a fan of curved screens so the other s10/s9/s8 models never interested me.

Is it possible to order the s10 with the snapdragon processor in australia?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 06:17 AM PST

Now that the performance comparisons have released I'm pretty disappointed with the exynos 9820 performance. Especially considering battery life could be worse as well.

Would it be worth ordering a sd855 version and shipping it over from America?

Have any reviewers done a comparison of the S10 battery life? Everything I see is for the S10+.

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 04:16 AM PST

Would this get my trade in denied?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 07:53 AM PST

Hi guys, my s7 is in fine condition after always being in a case and under a screen protector, all of their points seem to be checked... however my home button covering seems to be slowly chipping away.

After reading the terms and conditions of the trade ins its not clear what constitutes wear and tear and what does not. This wear has not been the result of an incident so seems like it should be covered by wear and tear.

Anybody got any experiences with this? Not really wanting to risk it...

Best phone case for regular Galaxy S10?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 10:40 PM PST

So I've broken many phone's with Speck cases, but on my 3rd Galaxy S7 Edge I decided to get a Clayco case; hybrid, front/back case (like plastic screen protector) with rubber in between. And wow it protected my phone from some of the absolute WORST drops.

So my first question would be, what similar but quality cases are there out there for the S10? Because Clayco hasn't made one past the Note 8 yet.

And 2nd, I'm worried about getting any form of screen protector type case because I'm not sure if the fingerprint sensor will be able to read my print.

    Thoughts?

Upgrading note8 to s10- how canni make sure everything transfers to new phone?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 06:42 AM PST

I have music on my phone (some purchased through Google play and some downloaded), pictures and obviously apps. Normally I wouldn't care if my pictures didn't transfer over but since Im going to have all this space on the new s10's, it's not going to bother me. I might even try and put the music from my computer on the phone. But anyway- Can I just transfer everything over with smart switch?(I've never used it before), or would it be easier to somehow get everything onto an SD card? (If so, how can I transfer it there? I tried looking it up and they made it more confusing than what it was. Last time I upgraded was an s7 edge to the note- I didn't have any music on at the time because I used an iPod)

    Samsung premium care

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 06:22 AM PST

I filed a claim through Samsung premium care and received my phone the other day. I had a black S8+ but they sent me an S9+. Is this right? Do they send you a model year newer since they don't manufacture S8's anymore?

Debating going from my iPhone X to the Samsung s10? Should I?

Anyone else doing this? I think for me it's time to make the switch. Annoyed with Apple and the lackluster features.

    Note10

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 05:58 AM PST

The screen protector problem could be worse on this. Because only Whitestone dome will work or at least other screen protectors that use ultra voilet adhesive. Film screen work on s10 but the note 10 will have a fingerprint reader like the s10.. This very difficult problem

    Worst preorder bonus ...

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 05:43 AM PST

This has to be the worst preorder bonus ever, in Romania if you preorder the phone and register in samsung members between 1-8 april you MAY get Ear Buds , because they are limited to 2000 pcs . It gets even worse , the promotion applies to phones bought untill 15 march , that means there is an extra week after the preorders in witch you can buy the phone and register for the buds campaign. So basically you have no preorder bonus, i had s3 mini , s5 , s6 edge , s7 edge black , s7 edge gold and now i have an s8+ and was considering an upgrade , still thinking about it but the buda would have been pretty important in making the decision .

What you guys think ? Is it same preorder bonus in your country ?

    Note 10 with 90hz/120hz panel...

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 05:26 AM PST

...or I'm out. Which would suck because I've been a Note user since the 2. I have sold the Galaxy lineup to many and consider myself a promoter of Galaxy products in my surroundings. That being said, that wave of gaming cellphones have caught my attention, mainly because of higher framerate panels.

The Note lineup being the pinnacle of cellphone technology would be a great opportunity for Samsung to keep that statement true, I hope they make that bold claim once more by introducing the first Samsung phone with at least 90hz. My appeal is gaming but for everything else, UI, pen functions, videos, it would be an absolute joy to use AND Apple might very well make the move with their next iPhone.

And what about you Reddit, how do you feel about what the Note 10 still has the potential to be?

Question: What makes a good battery?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 01:12 AM PST

Im about to buy a new phone and im not sure how much I should consider battery specs on flagship phones. What makes a good battery? The size mAh? Or is the most important thing how well the software efficiently uses battery?

I was going to buy the oneplus 6t with the 3700 mah, but my friends claimed the Samsung s10e probably has better battery despite the 3100 mah size? What makes a good battery?

    Notebook 9 Pro 13" vs Notebook 9 Pro 13.3" - what's the difference?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2019 04:48 AM PST

Looking to get a Samsung Notebook Pro, and I'm looking on the Samsung website, but I can't tell just how different the 2 products are (other than the price!)

I understand that they had a rebrand under the Pen range, but unsure if one of them is related to that, or if there is some other explanation.

    Link to both versions:
