Are you happy with Pie on the OP 5/5T ? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 05:09 PM PST I must say, I am not. I am experiencing very poor performance. I've already done the usual clear cache and all. It is really sluggish when scrolling and the RAM management is more aggressive than ever closing apps shortly after using them ... Pie has been released December 25th. It's been 3 patches released since then. None of them resolved this major issue. It was last year's flagship of Oneplus ... Oneplus is bragging about speed but ironically, the 5T/5 aren't smooth at all now with Pie. This issue has to be handled seriously. When people ask me what phone I got for instance and I see it lagging, I just can't recommend the product/brand in this state. It's really frustrating. Having 6GB of RAM and last year's processor it's ridiculous. It's time to deliver a solid Pie patch for 5T users Oneplus. [link] [comments]
Notifications still broken on OP6 Posted: 06 Feb 2019 08:13 AM PST So notifications still don't appear at all in apps like snapchat if I haven't opened it for a while, which is super frustrating. I've had this problem for months now and my friend who just got a new op6 now has the same issue. Disabling any of the battery optimizations doesn't help. Is oneplus aware of this issue and how does the fix take so long? Any temporary fix for it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 03:13 PM PST I am having an internal dilemma I need external help with. It's almost impossible not to want to get the 6T for it's price point. However with it's interesting start, lying on a few topics, and security issues with credit cards makes me worry. Double however they have a deal with Verizon(I think) now, and every reviewer ever seems to love OnePlus. So have they turned it this year? Or do these people just look passed the bad press because the phone is great for the price? [link] [comments]
Question: Is there a way to choose which app's notifications wake the phone screen and which don't? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 04:11 PM PST Currently using OP6; some apps wake the screen by default such as Snapchat while others don't. Is there a way to configure this? [link] [comments]
PSA: Keep your USB port clean and clean them from time to time. Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:36 AM PST At some point your charger might not work properly.. Instead of dash charging your phone might charge at "normal" speed even with the stock charger. This is especially for older oneplus models because the longer you have the phone the longer dust, lint, etc. Builds up in the port. [link] [comments]
Unable to send video from the stock gallery app - why? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 06:00 PM PST Basically, I am having an issue where videos don't show up when I try to share them via MMS, or facebook messenger, but when I choose a 3rd party gallery, I am able to. Why is that? [link] [comments]
Official pathway for requesting parallel apps? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:53 PM PST I would love to have outlook available for parallel, my work email has to be the only email set up in the outlook mobile app, would be amazing if I could have a parallel set up for my personal email. Posted: 06 Feb 2019 08:05 AM PST Some amazing dude posted a great article regarding the latest GCam port and how to configure it, but then later deleted the post due to people not being able to read the actual post before asking questions... Does anyone have a link to that APK update page? (Also, OP, if you're reading this, that post was great and thank you!) [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 07:18 PM PST So I own an OP6T purchased from TMobile. Long story short I had a mountain of issues with service on TMobile. They replaced the device via a warranty exchange but that didn't fix anything. So today I paid off the device and made the jump to verizon. My wife and I both have OP6Ts but hers was OP while mine came from TMO. My phone isn't getting service at our house while my wife's does. The device is unlocked, but I get very little to no service while her phone is consistently getting 2-3 bars of LTE. Any ideas? I am so frustrated with this phone right now. [link] [comments]
Battery life seems to be deteriating (OP6T) Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:49 PM PST Started noticing it a few weeks ago. Before I could easily go 2 days with the same amount of use but now it's well below that. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
My OP1 turns 4 soon. How long do we have left? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:30 AM PST I bought my current phone, OP1, in the summer of 2015. It still runs fine. Most notable sign of ageing has been the decreased battery life and the very occasinal stutter and/or auto restart. I'm still amazed at how well it runs everything in daily use at that age. I'm curious to know how many years have you gotten from your OnePluses. Are there some tips to increase the lifespan of your OP phone? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 05:21 PM PST So I had a problem with dirt and lint getting in my charging port resulting in charging problems. So I sent it in and they cleaned it and sent it back. Now my question is how they clean it, all I found online is people cutting plastic "hooks" and using toothpicks to get the dirt out. How do they do it in the shop? Can't imagine that some dude sits with a toothpick. [link] [comments]
Modded Instagram app for zoomed in stories Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:46 AM PST This does not work if you are using the OnePlus navigation gesture. Coming from an iPhone X, I was very annoyed by the zoomed in issue on Instagram stories on my 6t. On iOS, Instagram will apply a letterbox to make the story fit the display. On 6t, it is just a horrible mess. Anyway this is just a very simple mod of changing the activity's aspect ratio to 16:9 for the Instagram stories' activity page. It is just a small line in the Android app manifest. It seems to only work for the old 3 buttons navigation and Google's gesture navigation (Back, Home). If anyone can contribute to provide a fix for OnePlus gesture navigation, that will be great. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qBDqubP1BzA8OSOCRg6h_L4XB3zXfB96/view?usp=drivesdk [link] [comments]

Oneplus 6T: Signal Messenger Notifications Disappearing Posted: 06 Feb 2019 08:21 AM PST Hey All, Problem: I've been having an issue with Signal where I'm getting notifications that vanish. For example, a message will come in, my phone will ring/vibrate, and the screen will light up. But, just as the preview appears on the lockscreen, it disappears as if it has been dismissed. If the screen is already on, the phone will ring/vibrate and the signal icon appears on the notification bar but the icon will disappear. Swiping down on the notification shade reveals no notifications and opening the app confirms a message did in fact come through. Attempts at Solution:
Additional Information: What's especially odd is that the problem doesn't appear to be consistent. I will go for a few hours where all of my Signal notifications are disappearing and then everything will start working properly again after making no changes. Then a day or so later the issue will start back up. Also, it appears that Signal is the only app being affected. I had looked hard into the battery optimization problem because initially I had issue where apps like Etsy weren't pushing any notifications at all. That was resolved with the disabling optimization but with Signal, the notifications are definitely getting through, they're just immediately disappearing afterwards. Thanks for your help! Posted: 06 Feb 2019 01:48 PM PST Hello all of r/oneplus, as you all know in Australia the 6t has around a $200 markup for some stupid reason. Although, through eGlobal Central you can find a flashed OS version for $774 AUD https://www.eglobalcentralau.com/oneplus-6t-a6010-8gb-128gb-4g-dual-sim-sim-free-unlocked-midnight-black-flashed-os.html They say this version comes with Oxygen OS but no Google Play store and bloatware Chinese apps. What I wanted to know is if I bought this phone and flashed stock OOS off xda would it act as if it was an International phone with no traces of the Chinese flashed OS? Sorry if this doesn't make sense, phones aren't my strong part. Cheers xx [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:01 AM PST I'm having a weird bug where my OnePlus 6T always has an alarm displaying in the quick settings pull down drawer that says 12:00AM for the following day. I don't have any alarms set for that time and the alarm doesnt actually go off either. Has anyone heard of something like this or know a solution? Edit: Tried deleting Tasker and it did not actually fix it. Still have the mystery alarm. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 01:41 PM PST I've had this problem for a couple of months now. Android support on Reddit, the subreddit, whatever it's called filters out when I ask this question there so this is where I have to post it. No matter if it's Reddit, Discord, Gmail, my phone doesn't open the link, it just keeps loading in the in-app browser. What I have to do is to click on the dots in the corner and choose open with Firefox. It will launch Firefox and if I return and click on the link once again to open it works normally (opens with in-app browser). What is the problem? Why does it do this? I thought it was the Reddit app only at first but it's on all apps lol. [link] [comments]
Directly unlock when there aren't any notifications Posted: 06 Feb 2019 05:45 AM PST Often I only turn my screen on to see, which new notifications I got (assuming I already know that I got some). On the one hand I like that I'm directly taken to the homescreen whenever I unlock my 6T, but very often I just want to read my notifications. So my idea is to add a toggle under "Face recognition" in the settings which, when turned on, only goes directly to the homescreen when there aren't any notifications. Since I have Always on (or whatever it's called on OP) turned on I can get the time and charge percentage simply by picking up on, there's no reason for me to look at the lockscreen when there aren't any notifications. Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:23 AM PST Does anyone else end up pulling down the quick actions menu while making a phonecall? My screen always ends up lighting up and taking me out of the phonecall? Anyone got a fix or us this just a glitch for me. [link] [comments]
OP5 Everything on screen flipping upside-down Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:15 AM PST Since the Android update, everything on my screen will suddenly flip upside-down until the phone is rebooted. The home button is what triggers it, sometimes I can use it for a day before it happens other times it's every 5 minute [link] [comments]
Where can i find the original sandstone case for the OP3? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 05:26 AM PST My case broke, the edges started to chip away after a year. I wanted to get a new one, since I believe preventative care is always better than a super hard case since if you never drop it, it doesn't break which has been the case for me so far. Now with the case removed it is the most slippery thing ever. If the original case isn't available is there a silicone case like the one Apple sold for the iPhone 6s? I really love the grip feeling on a phone, especially silicone. Problem is, most of the "Silicone/TPU" cases I have seen for the OP3 look nothing like what I think of when I think of silicone. Hard cases with TPU insides. The original leather case would also work well. Any help on this? [link] [comments]
Wifi - calling on Non AT&T Devices (OP6) - not your usual post Posted: 06 Feb 2019 08:42 AM PST So I don't know about how other carriers work, but AT&T VoLTE works OOB on OP6, no issues. I did some research , Wi-Fi calling on even AT&T branded devices requires you to activate and needs to confirm on a web page the home address for E911.Since it seems its like a web page do you think its possible to wireshark , netcap the IP or page and manually go to that website then enter and somehow this allows the wifi calling to work on non AT&T branded devices? I feel that this process then provisions your line for wifi calling, and IMEI matters (you can always have them put an iphone or s9 att IMEI ) sim swap to OP6.But key is the wifi calling registering page? it looks like a web page but does not open in a browser. Thoughts? If i could get OP6 to work on VoLTE and wifi calling :))) dont need no more... [link] [comments] |
