Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:37 AM PST Everyone wants to talk OS platform, screen lengths, camera ... But let's be honest, when you go to bed after a very long day, only thing that matters is battery capacity. Other than bezels, notches, punch holes, AI etc, I think companies ought to build smartphones around 4000mAh as battery capacity standard. [link] [comments]

Some results of my mini experiment Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:23 PM PST So after the crazy response to my last question about things on iPhone has that you wish you could see on Android, I decided to do an experiment and hop on over to the iPhone sub reddit and ask the same questions (in reverse). This is what they had to say:
In the end however it all comes down to the manufacturers and what they want to put in their phones. Of course, we the consumers will rally for certain things which do end up being in the final product but most of the time its based on who's doing what in the industry. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Feb 2019 06:05 PM PST Seriously, with the upcoming S10 that has a meager 3400 mAh battery in a 6,1" phone, (only 3000 mAh in the 5,8" S10e!!) I'm wondering if they're doing it on purpose. All batteries degrade, but 70% of 5000 mAh is a lot more usable than 70% of a 3000mAh battery. In case of the latter, you just have to buy a new phone if you want to get through a single day. The Lenovo p2 had a 5100mAh battery in a 5,5" display! In 2016! For just 300$. It lasted for 2-3 days with heavy use. Sure, bezels have become smaller, but for example the s9+ had a bigger total size and still only had 3500mAh. Now it's just anecdotal, but everybody had the P2 in its day around here. Now Lenovo isn't even making a sequel to it. I suppose it's because everybody is still using their P2 since the battery is still great and there are no real alternatives unless you want a phone that's at least 6,3". In 2017 there was the Motorola moto E4, a 5,5" 200$ phone with a 5000 mAh battery. The E5 has the same price and battery but a 6" screen. Where the hell are the semi-compact (I still think it's bullshit calling a <6" phone a 'compact phone' btw) flagship phones with big batteries? [link] [comments] |
