Posted: 29 Jan 2019 03:49 PM PST I bought a OP6T 3 weeks ago from today. Going from an iPhone 7 plus that had to be at 20% brightness to hold battery all day, that had a dull looking screen and a colorless camera, this beast of a phone has a display I can't believe is not HDR, a mind bogglingly good battery and I could just keep listing things I like. Literally every time I go to unlock my phone I get a warm feeling inside still after 3 weeks. I know burn in is a thing for some people, but I have taken some precautions. Furthermore I read something about batteries getting bad for some people after 2 months, but that seems like it's software more than hardware. Is the grass just simply greener on the other side? My phone is a useless brick and I can't even submit a ticket on OnePlus website Posted: 29 Jan 2019 12:22 PM PST So with the latest Android Pie update my phone kept rebooting to the point that I can't even turn it on now. Right I went to OnePlus website and I can't neither submit a ticket or a complaint because "Oops, the spaceship just got lost! We are trying to get it back to earth". I'ts been two days now. How can I use my phone back again? Edit: I have a 5T. [link] [comments] |
OP5T connectivity issues after upgrade to Pie (Both WiFi & cell) Posted: 29 Jan 2019 09:54 AM PST Hi people! I updated to Pie a few weeks ago. After doing this I did a factory reset and wiped my cache. I have the last version (9.0.3), and a Oneplus 5t bought less than a year ago. My problem: since the update, my home WiFi (it only happens there) started getting micro disconnections. It means, I'm using my phone and suddenly the WiFi icons (and the connection), disappears, to suddenly 1 second after, reconnect. It does reconnect fast, but it's not really funny when I'm doing a video call or something like that. The weird thing is that it only happens with my home WiFi, it's like the new Android doesn't like my network. BTW: it happens even if I'm really close to the router with full signal. Regarding my cell connectivity, I lose connection more often than before, and sometimes it doesn't come back, I need to put on airplane mode for 5 seconds then turn it back on to make it work. Is somebody having similar issues? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jan 2019 07:14 PM PST My OnePlus McLaren just came in and it's been sitting for 3 hours trying to move the apps off my 5T and hasn't moved a single one. [link] [comments] |
Has anyone got a BlackVue dash cam? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 02:11 PM PST It's a simple process (apparently). You connect to the BlackVue WiFi network. Then open the app. And away you go. I've tried many times on my OnePlus 6. I've reset all network settings on my phone. Reset the network settings on the dash cam. Forced reboot my phone etc and nothing. All I get is a message saying "Failed to connect WiFi". It's not my phone's WiFi antenna as that works ok everywhere else. And it's not the dash cams WiFi as it worked flawlessly for the guy who installed it, and it just worked instantly and perfectly for my wife's Honor View 10. It's sooo frustrating!! Anyone any experience or advice?? [link] [comments] |
Forgot how beautiful my OP6 screen was Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:52 AM PST Got my OP6 back in June, put the screen protector that the phone came with on and haven't taken it I since. But I have been noticing that my screen been looking kind of ugly, especially compared to my friend's OP6. Decided to take it off despite the crack and it just looks and feels so amazing. This phone was so worth the hassle [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jan 2019 08:10 PM PST Currently I'm running the latest nightlies of vanilla LineageOS (8.1) and have been thinking about trying out some Pie ROMs. It's been a little while since I browsed XDA and found these two forums and I can't really tell why they both exist. Are they for two different versions of the same phone? Or something else? https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/orig-development Edit: Also, if anyone out there is still using a OPO like me, what ROM are you currently running? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:15 AM PST Anyone else noticed this, I know that the 5T takes lots of photos then picks the best one with least blur, or at least did on Oreo, it seems this algorithm is a bit broken on Oreo, all my images come out a bit blurry, even in bright daylight.. Even on shutterspeed 1/100, I do have quite a steady hand also, 1/100 is high enough for no blur I should think.. I stopped to take this photo, yet its still blurry.. :( I will try the gCAM mod, but overall the camera quality has declined a lot since Pie.. 1/100 shutter is high, and so is the ISO in that picture, yet there's blur?! OP 5T stuck on boot loop after Pie update. Please help, no recovery mode either. Posted: 28 Jan 2019 08:56 PM PST So, I tried updating to pie last night using the official OTA, an ended up with a soft brick. I can't get into recovery/bootloader, but I can get into fast boot. I followed the guide to unlock oem and install a new bootloader, but it keeps failing. Here's an image : https://imgur.com/a/7f3Gugf Really need some help with this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! :) [link] [comments] |
Is the Oneplus 6T camera really crap? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 06:39 AM PST I'm looking to get a new phone and torn between the Pixel 3 XL and the 6T. The only advantages the Pixel 3 has over the OP6T are waterproofing and obviously the camera. I want a close to stock Android experience and hate bloatware, so Samsung is out. Also I'm hesitant to buy a Hauwei with the news and sanctions lately (even though the P20 Pro is on sale for £400) - so it seems that these two are the best options for me. I use two phones atm a Samsung a3 with a shocking camera and an iphone 7, which isn't fab. I would need my new phone to be an improvement on both. So tell me, how shit is the camera really? It's the only thing stopping me buying this phone [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jan 2019 09:22 AM PST Just noticed this. The assistant is already installed on our devices, yet it still shows up in the store as an available app. What's the difference? [link] [comments] |
Cheek presses mute button when using as phone. Posted: 29 Jan 2019 04:58 PM PST Hey guys, me and my dad picked up 6t's a few months ago and we love them. One problem however is we both always mute ourselves when talking on the phone, as the screen somehow wakes up and our cheek presses the button. I would say it happens every other call, and is annoying because I don't know I've just muted myself. Any fixes for this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jan 2019 04:07 PM PST I occasionally get a bug in the audio where it sounds like it's cutting in and out every second and when I go to use the volume buttons, the slider is jumping all over the place. It might even be trying to play out of the caller earpiece. A restart usually fixes it, however it's very annoying. Does anyone else have this issue? (Running oxygen os 9.0.3) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jan 2019 07:01 AM PST I know that Moment is coming out with a 6t case in the next few months, however my wife and I are taking a trip to Europe for our honeymoon in a few weeks. I was wondering if you think the op6 case will fit on the 6T or if anyone has any other ideas for a wide angle or tele lens to use on my 6T? Or should I just use the stock camera? Thanks so much! 5T suffering shocking connectivity after Pie update Posted: 29 Jan 2019 09:38 AM PST My 5T updated a couple days ago to Pie - but since then mobile data has been exceptionally flaky - frequently dropping down to Edge or claiming to be on 4G but only recieving about 10Mbps download (London, UK, on O2 network) A Google search didn't bring back anything recent/related to the 5T - anyone else having similar issues? I'm not sure what to do other than wait it out for a patch. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to get calls to ring but messages (texts/telegram etc) to vibrate? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 03:15 PM PST I've tried abusing the DND mode but I can't make it vibrate. I'm on OOS 9.0.3 on a 5T. Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
OP5T intermittent loss of mobile network? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 02:36 PM PST So I've had my phone since January of last year and the roaming was good or at least nothing to mention about. Except since the last wave of major updates (around new year)?, I've been having this issue where no matter what the battery percentage is, I get intermittent blackouts where I have no data at all and the aps messages (device is offline) for 15sec to a min. I could be right now on the frontage of this sub and click a post and it won't open because suddenly I'm offline. I've tried to allow background data and let some apps run in the background but it is still happening in places that I always had good reception. I could use some of your help in solving this. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to disable flashing screen turn icon on pie 5t? Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:49 AM PST Im talking about the one that shows up when you have auto turn disabled and turn the phone on right lower corner of the phone. It makes my eyes hurt when something flashes when im reading at night in bed. [link] [comments] |
Gaming mode doesn't block notifications from Whatsapp on Oneplus 5T Pie Posted: 29 Jan 2019 06:48 AM PST Ever since I got the update last week, I keep on getting WhatsApp notifications pop up even when gaming mode is on. Anyone else facing this problem? [link] [comments] |
Oneplus 5T not ringing after latest update Posted: 29 Jan 2019 08:43 AM PST After the update to pie, my phone will only ring sometimes, this only began to occur after the latest update to android pie. the ringing is completely random so I am quite certain that it is not only for notifications from a certain app. If anyone has a fix, pls do let me know. thanks UPDATE, checked my settings again and noticed that DND mode was turned on by a rule called 'twschedule' I am not sure if this rule is tied to night light mode which I set to enable after 8pm. to fix, simply delete the rule. Hope this helps [link] [comments] |

Questions around Deep Optimization Posted: 29 Jan 2019 12:04 PM PST My OnePlus 6T is great and it's genuinely been a blast to use it. But I noticed the phone does not really keep apps in the memory for too long. I found out that there's a setting which I can disable ( Deep Optimization ) and have better ram management. However, does this affect battery life a lot, cause I'm a power user and my 6T sees me through a whole 24 hours. Do I leave it as is and just not optimise my most used apps or do I switch off Deep Optimization and hope that it doesn't consume too much battery? Also can I not optimise my most used apps and also switch off Deep Optimization? Sorry for excessive double negatives but blame OnePlus [link] [comments] |
