    Digital Board Game recommendations

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 04:04 PM PST

I'm looking for feedback on any of the following digital board games. I'm very familiar with the tabletop versions of all of these. If you have any experience with these games I'm looking for information primarily on two areas:

    1) Single player vs. AI. I'm not looking for multiplayer matches (maybe occasionally 'pass and play') so I'd like to know how good the AI is. It doesn't have to be brutal (I'm not an especially great player), as long as it's not brain dead.

    2) UX on a phone. I'll not be playing on a tablet, so I'm interested in knowing if the UI works well on a smaller screen.

The list is more or less prioritized (I realize It's pretty long).

    Thanks!

[Dev] Tap Healer - Development Screenshot

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 02:23 PM PST

Hey everyone, As some of you might know, I am working on a little Android game called "Tap Healer - Healing Touch", which tries to emulate the MMORPG experience of a Healer on your phone.

Last year, I released my very first version of the game and kept making small iterations to the game.

But no matter how much I features I tried to add to the game, they always felt weird, because the game just looks horrible.

As a result, I wasted a lot of time not really doing anything, because I kept coming back to the same problems.

Today, I've finished an iteration of the ui, which I am actually somewhat satisfied with. I'd like to get your feedback on it.

You can find the Screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/NVtdPf1

I also added Screenshots of older iterations as a comparison.

For those of you who already played the game: The newest development version has a lot of new features compared to the version, which is currently available.

For those of you who didn't play the game yet: Don't download it! Wait for the next release version.

Looking for Idle/Incremental games which don't involve the player much

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 06:41 AM PST

So to add some context, I'm looking for some idle or incremental games which you don't have to spend 40+ minutes tapping, managing structures/buildings/upgrades for heroes every minute, etc and quite a bit of it is done offline? I've started playing Almost A Hero and it's good, though it can get a bit too addicting, especially when you hit a wall, prestige and plow through early game enemies until you get to the point you prestiged at. I also tried out Cookies Inc. but that was 10 times more addicting since you gain cupcakes so fast that you reset and showcase every 30-60 minutes so you'll realise 2 hours have gone out of nowhere. So in essence some idle/incremental games designed for short play sessions, around 5-15 minutes at a time? Thanks in advance!

Connecting Xbox One S Controller Via Cable

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 01:22 PM PST

I have been unable to connect more than one controller via bluetooth, so I am attempting to connect 1 Xbox one S controller via cable and the other via bluetooth. I tried connecting just one by cable, but it automatically connects with bluetooth. I am using a micro USB to USB C cable.

[Dev] Hi Reddit, I am the creator of FittinglyShaped - a free mobile game made to take advantage of large screen devices.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:11 AM PST

Reposted because I missed the tag in the title.

Self promotion incoming - this game can be found on Google Play, please see the Instagram page for more promotional media.

FittinglyShaped - Unlock the Full Power of Your Touchscreen

The goal of FittinglyShaped is simple - guide your shape through a set of randomly generated, increasingly challenging scenarios for as long as you can without getting crushed. However, in execution the concept is a bit more interesting since the game can be played with full 2D freedom of movement across your entire screen, taking advantage of the fastest fingers and quickest wits!
As mobile devices evolved we have watched the selection of touch oriented games adapt to take advantage of this new medium, but often in very simplistic ways - either with straight, directed gestures or predefined movement directions. This is great for playing on small touchscreen phones, but as screen sizes have grown in recent years, so too has the potential for interactivity. I wanted to challenge the user to guide themselves through challenges that required not only timing and reflexes, but also precise, multi-point control at all times. To do this, I created an entirely custom game engine to handle complex shapes and their interactions with each other, the result of which is FittinglyShaped - unlock the full power of your touchscreen!

    How to Play

The user controls a single (red) block that is constantly in danger of being 'crushed' by other incoming shapes on a 2 dimensional board. Placing one finger on the user's block creates an 'anchor', causing the block to attempt to follow that finger until it is released. Touching the block at a second point while the anchor is still present will cause it to rotate around the anchor point in an attempt to align the second initial touch point with wherever that second finger moves. In this manner, the user can move their block into any position immediately, provided that it is not blocked by an obstacle.
Incoming shapes are colour coded to indicate if they will push the user's block and possibly 'crush' it between shapes or the edge of the board (blue), or if they may be pushed by the user's block to clear an obstacle, be crushed themselves, or manipulate other shapes (orange). The user will need to learn various techniques, such as knowing when only one finger is needed, or where escape opportunities will present themselves, to reliably navigate the obstacles as they come.

    Features

    • Full freedom of movement, including position and rotation of your game piece across the entire screen.
    • Continuously streaming, randomly generated, increasingly fast and complex challenges.
    • Points are accumulated from surviving challenges, as well as positioning the pushable shapes to be crushed (instead of you).
    • Customizable speed from the game menu - you get points faster but you need to react faster.
    • Learn the techniques of each obstacle - they are different but familiar every time.
    • Free with minimal, non-intrusive ads.

Teen Titans Go Figure - inoperable since early December on my Pixel

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 12:00 PM PST

I know other people are in the same boat, but has anyone heard anything from the devs on this? Ever since the multiplayer introduction in early December the game crashes upon opening. I've e-mailed the dev, sent in Google feedback crash reports, and left a nasty review. It breaks my heart when I see that icon and I know I can't play it.

I deleted my data and reinstalled the game too (shredding all my progress in the process). The game does work on my Chromebook however. So frustrating.

Mobile game marketing - need tips

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 11:53 AM PST

    Hi,

I recently released my fourth mobile game. Now I need to start doing some marketing and I wonder if someone here has any good tips?

My budget isn't very high. I've done some posting here on Reddit, forums and written a couple of blog post. Going to focus a little bit on ASO now. But just wondered if someone here has any good strategies?

Is there an easy way to find what (gacha, usually) games are doing collab events with anime/other games/etc?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 09:05 AM PST

Title. Basically I'm a gacha game fan (mostly f2p, I just like the gameplay on the ones I play, as well as the character designs), and also an anime fan. I like the thrill of potentially being able to play as characters I like from games or anime that I know, in other games.

What I'm wondering is if anyone (Google, or someone with similar interest in the subject, or something) has some kind of a database or anything with info on games with collab events. I happened to get lucky and re-discover Alchemist Code while their Fullmetal Alchemist collab was on, and find Knights Chronicle while they were doing theirs, and Valkyrie Connect during their Seven Deadly Sins collab.

[Request] What are the best Offline Shooters?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 08:24 AM PST

What are the best offline shooters for Android? Third person, first person, anything. I only know of Neon Shadow, The Sun Origins (STALKER rip off), and the Space Marshals games. Anything else out there?

Also if there's any offline Battle Royale games that would be great!

Which one would you recommend? Injustice 2, Mortal Kombat X or Marvel: Contest of Champions?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2019 09:24 AM PST

Which one is better as a fighting game?
I've tried a lot (I mean thousands) of android games since 2010, a lot of shitty ones and one of my worse experiences was with SF4 mobile (on it's release date) and that made me hate fighting games on mobile. The only enjoyable fighter I've seen is Skullgirls, so fluid and even low level units can pack a punch if you play well.

Taking this in mind, which one of these 3 games do you prefer?
