Posted: 02 Dec 2018 11:51 AM PST Just bought my first Xiaomi product, the mi 8 pro, and it's amazing. the batery (3000mah) was the biggest doubt, which i had after seeing reviews, but i gotta say it's really good, plus that fast charger gets it charged really quick so all good. Camera and performance are amazing, i'm speachless. [link] [comments]
HELP WITH XIAOMI REDMI 5 PLUS! Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:37 AM PST Hi everyone, I'm new to posting on reddit so i'm sorry if i do anything wrong, please do correct me... So i own a Redmi 5 Plus and have had it for about 6-7 months with no problems. In fact, it has been one of the best phones I've ever had. Unfortunately, today, as i was trying to turn on my phone again, it just gets stuck on the Mi screen and won't load up. I've tried to do some research but i can't seem to find anyone that has had the same problem as me. Either they only had their phones for a day and when i try to safe reboot, I don't have that red writing at the bottom when i do a reboot to the main menu (check pic). If anyone can give me some advice to get my phone working again, that would be great (would prefer not to do test point either since i dont know how to) And I'm not very good with technical terms so please try to keep it simple :D Thanks! Dropped Mi Mix 2 and cracked screen in the upper right corner. Can it be replaced/repaired? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 05:11 PM PST I'm in the US (Chicago area). Let me know of anyone else has had their Xiaomi screens replaced in the US for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:55 PM PST Hello, I bought a Xiaomi mi 8 and the bootloader is unlocked, I would like to know if I can install the beta rom, or a rom Xiaomi had. But I would like to know how to do with the anti rollback measures put in place? Could you help me ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:40 PM PST Has anyone here heard about A2 SD cards meant for adoptable storage? I'm planning to buy a Poco F1 and I read an article that A2 sd cards are not yet supported in SD845. Is that true? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:31 PM PST I've had my phone for a year now. And for reasons (Doesn't really matter.) I'm looking to upgrade to a new Xiaomi. I'm not really following releases, so I've come here to get some expert opinions. My budget is going to be around 200€, though I'm willing to pay more. I'm going to guess that there isn't a "substantial upgrade" available in that price-range. But I'd still like to hear some recommendations. [link] [comments]
Can't get the OTA updates on my A2. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:25 PM PST Hi! Sorry if this is not the best spot to get my question answered, but I really need some help. So I bricked my A2 while trying to switch to another ROM. Downloaded the xiaomi mi a2 toolkit and got it unbricked and installed a older version of the stock ROM (V9.6.15.0.ODIMIFE). I think that all was fixed, but when trying to install Android One November 2018 update it says "Installation problem" with red letters. So, what am I doing wrong? Some info that may help: my bootloader is unlocked and i'm not rooted. Thanks! [link] [comments]
[Question] Has anyone found a way to enable Camera2Api on MIUI 10.1? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:23 PM PST I have a 4A and I installed 10.1 Global (7.1.2) on it. Everything is great and I love it, but I cannot enable Camera2api. Tried with recovery, magisk, build.prop editor, pushing the file through adb but nothing worked. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:35 PM PST Hi - Posting here hoping someone from Xiaomi may be able to assist. For nearly two months I didn't have any problems but now I can't stay connected. I can connect briefly to Verizon services, but I get disconnected constantly and most times it won't reconnect, without numerous things being done. I can't conduct a phone call correctly either, as the service constantly drops and reconnects like the modem is restarting. The signal levels are normal, and the SIM works in another Verizon device. I have also tried two different active SIMs, no difference between the two. I have created a bug report on the MIUI website (including Radio Logs), and I have tried the following: Reverted to MIUI 9 on Oreo Updated to MIUI10 on Oreo Updated to MIUI10 on Pie Updated to MIUI10 Global Beta Rom 8.11.23 It seems there is a known problem with VOLTE on this build of the Global Beta Rom. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Disabling VOLTE Carrier Check with *#*#VOLTE#*#* is required to get the device to connect on LTE at all. I have tried with it enabled and with it disabled for all these items. I can connect to LTE with it toggled on the SIM settings. I have manually entered APN settings that match those in use on my Pixel XL, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3 XL with this SIM in the device. I have tried the automatic APN settings as well. I have reset the device settings, as well as factory reset, this has not helped. I can get the device to connect for brief periods on either 1xRTT voice and 1xRTT data or 1xRTT voice and EVDO data, but device does not want to connect on LTE on its own. If I force the network mode in the "testing" application opened by dialing *#*#4636#*#* to "LTE Only" the device will connect for a few minutes to an hour, but then drops and usually requires toggling Airplane Mode to get the signal to come back. I am really frustrated and I love this device's design and hardware. Any help and feedback would be most appreciated. Happy to answer any questions anyone has as well. [link] [comments]
r/Xiaomi Bi-Weekly Photography Thread Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:57 PM PST Welcome to r/Xiaomi's Bi-Weekly Photography Thread! Please use this thread to share photos and videos taken with Xiaomi devices and discuss photography, including camera hardware and software (such as GCam ports). Photos and videos don't have to come from a Xiaomi phone, you can post anything taken with a Mi Ecosystem product, let it be a smartphone, drone or action camera. However, if you post something taken with a Xiaomi phone, please share your phone model, ROM, camera app and camera settings as well. In case of a GCam port, please also detail the app version. Media about Xiaomi products, like unboxing photos or video reviews, don't fall into the category of photography and should be submitted individually, outside of this thread. On Reddit Redesign, you can directly embed media in a comment but if you wouldn't like to rely on Reddit, you can use any other website, such as Imgur, Flickr or YouTube, just make sure to post a direct link to your content. The bi-weekly thread will be unstickied and replaced by a new thread every second Monday at midnight (UTC). Thanks for reading and happy sharing! [link] [comments]
M365 not responding to power button. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:01 PM PST After not having used my M365 for two days, my scooter apparently beeped yesterday evening, after which it turned itself on. Since then, I haven't been able to turn it off again. It still responds to the app (I can do a factory reset, turn cruise control on and off and change the tail light from always on to always off and back, but no matter how much or how long I keep pressing the power button, it doesn't do anything. It still runs fine, I just can't turn off the scooter or turn the headlights on. Is there anything I can do about this that doesn't involve returning it for repairs? [link] [comments]
Vibration motor suddenly not working on Redmi Note 5 Pro Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:35 PM PST I was using my phone normally like any other day but noticed there was no vibration when pressing on screen. Later realized that my phone didn't vibrate when receiving calls and messages. I'm confident that between yesterday and today I didn't drop my phone. There is just no more vibration. Has anyone else faced this issue? How do I fix this? I'm on MIUI 10.0.4.0 Android version 8.1.0 [link] [comments]
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus or Xiaomi Redmi 6? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:08 AM PST I need a long life on battery, and also a good camera. I can't decide between those both ;-; Can you tell me more about what would be better? I'd pay 125 euro for Redmi 6, and 160 euro for Redmi 5 Plus Can also someone tell me how often do you need to charge your Redmi 6? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:04 AM PST How would you compare these two airphones? Both are circa 50$. Which one do you think I should buy? I don't really need them to look like airpods, but i10s tws looks like a really good deal. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:29 PM PST Usually I keep wifi turned on, but since I got the new update I get bombarded with audible notifications whenever I'm on the bus and pass by hotspots that I've connected to before. The soundless ones were annoying too, but these new ones drive me crazy. Can I disable them somehow without switching to a new os? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:27 AM PST I read that Xiaomi phones can only show Netflix/YouTube in 540p due to licencing. Is there a workaround for this? Does this affect global variants too? I've been excited for the Mi Mix 3, but this could be a deal-breaker. [link] [comments]
[Mi Max 3] Sourcing a new microphone or a repair center in Syndey? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:11 AM PST I had the body of my mi max 3 replaced in Hong Kong last week, but I've only just noticed since I've returned to Sydney that the guy didn't take the microphone off the old body and put it on the new body (turns out only phone calls and skype use the main microphone, whatsapp and facebook calls don't need it...). The microphone setup is a first for Xiaomi and unique to the Mi Max 3 apparently and uses an FPC with contacts to connect to the main board. Best seen in this picture. Does anyone know where I might be able to source these parts (mic and connector)? Or have a good repair place in Sydney I could entrust to doing this? [link] [comments]
If you had to build a phone that would be sold the most off. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 10:39 AM PST Meaning, between cost and features. What would sell the most? I believe a Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with USB-C and droplet/hole for cam display and Android One would be the best selling phone of the year. Personally I would love NFC. Would not need 3.5mm jack. And I'm sure Whatever upgraded camera or chip possible for under 200€ would only be an improvement. A key feature is under 200€, which seems to make it within a lot of peoples reach. What do you think most people want? Best regards. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:23 AM PST My choices are: Xiaomi redmi 5 plus Xiaomi redmi note 5 pro (or redmi note 5 global version) Xiaomi A2 lite Xiaomi redmi 6 pro I know they are very similar in terms of specs.. but which one? I want a phone with a good camera, with a nice processor that runs well. I was inclined to buy the note 5 pro.. but I saw some comments that says A2 lite is better because of the android one but others says 5pro is better because of camera... I accept other recommendations other the ones I said I want something with this specs: -nice camera - 4gb ram - 64gb rom - nice processor -that works in Europe - budget phone [link] [comments]
That question! Band 28 in Australia! Posted: 02 Dec 2018 05:18 AM PST Alright I'm almost about to buy a phone but keep seeing this come up all the time! I'm in Australia and with kogan now, and will be moving to aldi mid next year. I live about 30km from Perth city, does anyone have personal experience or know that I the way the network is heading, whether it's a must or not? [link] [comments]
