Can i stop my phone from disabling an app? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:37 AM PST Hey there, headline pretty much says it, I was not able to find this via Google but I have a Google pixel 2 XL, is there a way I can stop the UI from disabling an app? I am referring to the Google news app if that makes any difference. I'm from Iceland but currently live in Denmark and they do not have it released here but I can still get it via play store or APK but it keeps disabling even if I do not allow location. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Those who use BlackBerry keyboard as their main keyboard, how have you set it up? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 08:52 AM PST Saw BlackBerry keyboard recommended on this sub. I have temporarily switched to it from hacker's keyboard as I test it. What settings should I turn on/off to get optimal performance out of the keyboard? [link] [comments] |

A good parental control for a kid Phone? (especially Whatsapp). Posted: 03 Dec 2018 10:17 AM PST There it is. She is still too young but I guess she is old enough to have some access to internet and contact friends, but not enough to grant full access. I need a tool to do some occasional supervision Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
I have an application called "SecureElementApplication" on my OnePlus 6. What is it? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 04:18 AM PST I found this application when I used "search" in settings menu of my OnePlus 6. It is a brand new device with no additional stuff installed. The app cannot be deleted, and I can't find out what it is needed for. Does anyone else have this app installed? Any ideas what is it needed for? Is it a malware? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 10:16 AM PST I am looking for a list and shopping apps. I want to be able to write each item not look up or scan and then eaily by swiping or click a check box get rid of it. But I would like to be able to share the list with my wife so we both can have access to various lists and add/remove items as they are bought. I haven't found a free app that offers these features any advice [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Dec 2018 09:43 AM PST Dear Techies, I teach mathematics in high school. We have those fancy digital schoolboards that makes teaching a treat. But sometimes I want the class just to follow me solving some math problem on paper. I thought of using Chromecast for this. I could make some kind of stand that holds my phone and films downwards. Point this at my desk and it's like looking over my shoulder while I explain mathematics. I'm a pretty nifty woodworker so making a stand should not be a problem. Now for the problems: What app would you suggest? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:50 AM PST I just downgraded to moto g6 play from a lg v20 with gcam. I'm having trouble finding an easy way to enable bokeh on photos. Airbrush gave me results I needed but the features were not free. Can someone give me open camera configurations or tips to enable bokeh. Or give me a camera that uses software to do it. Or a good editor that detects and does it automatically. (Not a fan of manually doing it) [link] [comments] |
Any good simple offline notepad for android? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:31 AM PST A free text editor that has the ability to use bold, cursive, strikethrough (basic stuff, you know), monospace font and text colors would be nice. "Monospace" is the best app I found so far, but it doesn't seem to have colored fonts, which is useful when making notes. It also doesn't have strikethrough and stuff like that. Any recommendations? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 04:14 AM PST Hello. I'm here seeking for advice on how to block everything from an android (Well, almost) excepting two apps. I am an administrative employee at a cable company SME. We are a third party field service of the actual cable company, we do the home services - tl;dr: We repair CATV and Internet Issues of a cable company. To organize the technician routes we have a Field Service app. From there techs can see where their next service is, how many TVs the client has and stuff. And we administative employees communicate with them through telegram. Because of their field work we must give them phones with a 5GB data plan, which is far more than enough than what they actually need. Since we don't restrict anything on the phones (Because we don't know how to) some techs have been using it for personal purposes, such as Facebook or YouTube... which is totally fine, until they actually consume the whole 5gb data plan. Our only choice is to charge them via credit card and then discounting it from them, but it's really annoying and affects workflow, plus this has happened with the same people several times. I'd like to know if there's an app - or some kind of configuration - where i can block every app except for Telegram and the Field Service app, and of course, preventing them from uninstalling this app or unblocking the access. It should have ideally a notification system - i'd like to be reported if they are trying to unlock these apps, but if that's not possible, just a possibility to put a very long password is okay. tldr, I need an app to block everything from a couple phones except for two apps, and i'd like to be notified if the app is trying to be unlocked -or the blocking app uninstalled. Posted: 03 Dec 2018 04:13 AM PST Most apps seem to offer VOICE calls / Voicemail by default. But I only want SMS service (to give out to some services which send notifications). This is because some businesses don't respect the 'no call' request despite promising to only text you for updates (like pharmacies) or worse, SELL you number to Telemarketers. Seeking an SMS only number option. Thanks very much :-) Edit: Don't want voicemail at all (if they call the number, it should respond with an 'error') [link] [comments] |
Keyboard with best auto correct? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:44 PM PST The autocorrect on a lot of the keyboards seems to be underwhelming, I've been using SwiftKey but it's not too grand imo. Not going back to Google keyboard just cause no. Chroomas autocorrect is trash. Fleksy is not for me lol. [link] [comments] |

[Q] Outook won't display 2nd mail from same sander Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:56 AM PST Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but it has been bugging me for some time. I'm using Outlook app, and have it setup to handle my mail from @hotmail and @gmail. While I'm generally very satisfied with the app, whenever I receive mail from the same sender twice (eg. first mail will have encrypted pdf, second mail will have the password - so they are different mails), the app will show the preview of the second mail (which is normal) - see pic However, when I click on the mail(s), I only get to see the first mail, without any obvious way (scroll, expand,...) to actually view the second, newer one. TL;DR when I open outlook app, i see overview of the 2nd mail ("here is the pass for the pdf"), but when I click the mail i see the first mail ("here is the encrypted pdf"). What am I doing wrong/missing? There -SHOULD- be a way to view two conswcutive mails from the same sender... Ps. ATM this happened with mail sent to @gmail account, I'm not sure if this also happens with mail sent to @hotmail or other account... Any ideas, including trying different mail app, are welcome. keyboard to avoid game censorship? accents Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:57 PM PST I'm currently playing Summoners War and it has the most inefficient game censor i've ever seen. Words like saturday and assign turn into sa***ay and **ign. It drives me insane. I'm hoping someone knows of a keyboard app that can program specific letters. What i'm hoping for is to replace all the vowels on the android keyboard into foreign accents so the censor never works on me again. Thanks for reading! [link] [comments] |
