3T to 6T - I'm Tempted to Return My 6T Posted: 03 Dec 2018 12:15 PM PST I can't help but feel like the 6T has been a downgrade largely due to one simple issue. I never know when I'm receiving an email or text. What's the point of carrying around a device in your pocket capable of instantaneous communication if you can't feel the vibration? My cons:
My pros:
For anyone upgrading from a 3/3T to the 6T, how has your experience been so far? [link] [comments] |

Color me impressed (new 6t owner) Posted: 03 Dec 2018 06:24 PM PST So I did only get it today but wow, this thing is nice. Fast. Good build quality. The gestures with screen off? OMG Love. Face Unlock? Wow is that fast as hell. I can't even get to the FP reader with my thumb and it's unlocked. Very cool. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:32 AM PST Hi Reddit, I am copying an email I sent to OP concerning my OP6. I will ad their reply once I get it, but please if you have the same problem reply to this thread so it can be shared with them. This link is for a video of the back cover of the phone : http://tinypic.com/r/2djtqtk/9 ''Hello, I'm writing as a concerned customer over the weird behaviour of my 6 month old OP6. Indeed, I randomly took it out of it's OnePlus branded protective cover (which I purchased at the same time as the phone), only to find out that the back glass was completely cracked. The front glass panel and screen are otherwise in perfect condition, which is why it was such a surprise. Interestingly, the cracks couldn't be easily felt just by touching the glass back, which makes me think that they're ''inside'' cracks, and even more interesting is the fact that the cracks seem to originate from the phones IO, such as the buttons, alert slider, sim tray, and headphone jack. I haven't been careless with the phone, on the contrary, as a broke engineering student who bought this phone with my own money, I intended to keep it for years and take care of it as if it was my baby (which it basically is). I purchased the OP case because I thought that it would be the best option for protection even. Well after analyzing the damage I find it impossible to be due to an evident mistake from my part, and given that I am heavy heavy user of the phone (I don't have Wi-Fi so my only interface with the internet is either my university's Wi-Fi or the 4G network provided by my phone carrier, I mostly use the latter ), and I am constantly charging it, I believe this is a battery induced damage. My guess is that the repeatedly charging the battery (usually twice a day) induced thermal strain on the back panel, and the glass simply couldn't take it. I'm not necessarily looking for a ''free refund'' or whatever, even if I would absolutely would love to get it repaired. I am looking for answers. I'm not the only customer reporting this type of damage (see link : https://wccftech.com/oneplus-6-users-are-reporting-on-the-phones-rear-glass-panel-breaking-on-its-own/ ) so I feel like OnePlus should give us an explanation, and provide some sort of compensation, because this feels like this is a flaw in design. Thank you.'' [link] [comments] |
Need an advice about budget wireless headphone Posted: 03 Dec 2018 06:15 PM PST My budget is quite tight, under 100 usd. I'm looking into op bullets and sony wi-c300. Is there any budget friendly - decent sound quality - good baterry life that I'm missing. Really prefer a headphone support usb-c, because I'm tired of so many different wires. [link] [comments] |
Oneplus 6T screen wakes up randomly after 9.0.7 Posted: 03 Dec 2018 10:44 AM PST So all my notifications settings from snapchat is set as off, but when someone sends me something, my screen wakes up from sleep, showing my lockscreen, and when i open the phone i dont see a snapchat notification but going into snapchat lets me see it. I dont wanna see snap notifications( i dont use it that much) and i definetly dont want it to waste battery waking my screen everytime i recive a useless picture of someones dinner [link] [comments] |
Possible solution to delayed notifications/aggressive memory management. Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:48 AM PST Another OP user recently pointed out a feature that allows you to lock apps in the recent apps screen so that hitting the "close all" button doesn't close them. Once I learned about it, I locked my most frequently used apps. What I noticed over the next few days was that these apps were staying in memory much longer than I was used to. I could come back to my phone hours later, and they wouldn't re-draw when I opened them. Then yesterday, another OP user posted about not being able to listen to Soundcloud because it would keep closing in the background: https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus6t/comments/a2hkmz/ram_management_issue/ I suggested they try the lock apps feature, and it seems to have worked for them. Finally, I woke up this morning to a bunch of notifications, whereas prior to locking my apps, I would get the behavior others have observed where they all come in at once when using the phone for the first time. This leads me to believe that this might be a solution to some of these problems we've been having. It would be nice if others could try and report back to figure out if this is really the case. To lock apps, just go to the recent apps page, tap the 3 dots in the top right of the app card, and hit "Lock". I should also point out that I have adapative battery and battery optimisation ON, however those apps I've locked and want to receive notifications from 24/7 I've set to "don't optimise" as well. So make sure you set this option for any apps you lock. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 01:39 PM PST I was thinking about the notch conundrum and I realized I don't really use the front camera. I'd much rather have more screen space. Then again, I'm not a big selfie taker. Curious what people think, would you trade the front camera for the added screen space? It sacrifices a huge piece of functionality for an almost-trivial screen size increase, so I can see how most people would disagree. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 12:58 PM PST Time to put my OP2 to rest, she's been a faithful servant. I also got a Nylon bumper case for $5 with a referral code so that's great. Any Torontonians here to comment on delivery times? I ordered today (Monday Dec 3) at around 11am. Estimate delivery says Friday the 7th. Cheers! [link] [comments] |
Other than noLED, what are the best alternatives to the notification LED? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 03:35 PM PST noLED is, for me, incredibly frustrating to use. Are there similar apps that are better designed, or something you've turned to as a replacement for the LED? I can't stand having to constantly check my phone like a maniac just to know if I have any notifications. [link] [comments] |
Flair for Thunder Purple One Plus 6T (8GB/128GB) Posted: 03 Dec 2018 03:26 PM PST I'd like to be able to set a flair as per title. Would kindly appreciate it. Cheers and thanks. Edit: Using Midnight Black for lack of option [link] [comments] |

Can I safely use Samsung Gear VR with my 6T Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:10 PM PST I was wondering if I could use my new 6t for VR with a Samsung Gear I got as a present. I don't want to break my phone in the process of trying to get it to work so any advice is helpful. [link] [comments] |
[OP5T] Problems with System UI Posted: 03 Dec 2018 08:45 PM PST Once in a while I start receiving a message for the System UI not responding while the phone is being used. Currently I'm on the latest beta version, and the problem started happening recently. I wanted to know of there are any solutions to it, other than putting it to the solid version. Posted: 03 Dec 2018 07:47 PM PST I have the new 6T. The lock screen wallpaper is faded and looks like there's a light filter on it. I know a lot of phones have this feature but I hate it. How do I get rid of this or any good launcher/lock screen apps that can get rid of it? I'd rather not have to root my device. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Question about Amazfit Bip on OnePlus 6t Posted: 03 Dec 2018 08:23 AM PST Is anyone using an Amazfit Bip on their OnePlus 6t? Any issues? [link] [comments] |
[9.0.7]: Audio Tuner for bluetooth devices. I'm the happiest man on planet earth right now. Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:40 AM PST |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 02:47 PM PST I don't quite get why most apps don't use the 'notch area' when in full screen. All it really does is show the area in a dimmed version of the app color. Why not just hide the notch and get some more black screen for the screen to not light up? Are you hiding or showing the notch? And which apps truly use all the screen space and not just show the status bar in a different color? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2018 10:53 AM PST My wife sent me this earlier: https://imgur.com/Xz2A4oe So I have a shiny new OP6T waiting for me when I get home. It's been hanging out at the FedEx depot all weekend about 3 miles from home just mocking me. I did stop by and ask, they couldn't find it in the open at the depot so I had to wait until today. Suggestions for what to do first? This will be my 2nd OP, I had an OPO years ago. I'm comfortable installing ROMs and using ADB. [link] [comments] |
OP6T camera... Is it as good as some people say? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 06:24 PM PST Hey, I had a nexus 6p and upgraded to a Huawei p20 expecting a better camera. It do has a better camera but the software it's really crap and you never know what to expect after shooting, even night shots are not as good as expected. The selfie camera is a real shame. I've tried many gcam apks but it doesn't work on fucking kirin. I was used to instant updates because I always had nexus phones, and I still have android oreo on my p20. I hate this huawei and emui so I'm already thinking of getting a new phone. I was thinking of buying the pixel but it's really expensive, Google phones are not what they used to be... So I'm seriously considering the OP6T. Can you tell me what should I expect? Is the price difference with the pixel worth it? Can I take good photos with stock camera app and gcam? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 02:28 PM PST I've been out of the android game for a while, with my last rooted handset being a Note 3 I've seen the guides on the community forums, but I'm just wondering if there are any major downsides to rooting? Will particular apps stop working? Can i install OTA updates? Is it unstable? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
[OP6] Random reboots when entering apps? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 11:58 AM PST So during the past weeks when I enter a random app my OP6 won't enter the app and gives the crash error message or just goes black. Then when I reattempt to enter the app the phone does a soft reset where I don't have to enter the sim password but only the phone password. Is anybody also experiencing this? I'm also on A6003_22_181026. [link] [comments] |
Override Do Not Disturb Notification setting missing? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:45 PM PST Another week another realisation a stock android feature is missing in Oxygen...how do I get the stock Override Do Not Disturb option in apps? I am often on call and pagerduty can't override Do Not Disturb and I have to sleep with all the rest of my shitty notifications coming through so it's not silent. [link] [comments] |
